Thats why women need to stay in the house. Especially the kitchen. Give ema car and they think the check engine light means you will lay your rod in their gash tonight.
Wow. So now instead of paying $40 for the 2 oil changes he'd have needed in those 55,000 miles, the owner gets to pay however many thousands of dollars this cost. Cuz even if you got lucky and all the parts survived and it just needed cleaning, that gunk is sticky as glue. It takes a lot of mechanic hours at $80-120 an hour to clean that crap.
@afterapplepicking That's still a pretty long stretch to only change your oil twice. But getting a basic oil change, about $20, every 3,000 miles would still be less than $400, and that'd be a bargain compared to not doing it.
@antuk1234 The UK gallon is 20% bigger than the one used in the US. So a car that gets 23mpg here would get about 28mpg there. Even my 5.3L V8 powered full size pickup would get 23.
@blh67 is that why you are paying 12 bucks for a gallon of gas and we pay 3.50? the 20% more dont make up for costing 8.50 more a gallon. i have a friend who is British he said it sucks over there. thats why he came here.
Use Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer or Lucas synthetic oil additive. I encouraged my brother to do that and he poured in one quart of Lucas with castrol synthetic oil in his Ford ranger and went 11K miles without an oil change. When he drained it, the oil looked brand new!
@mbsk3lton - Pour in oil additives upset the chemical balance of a motor oil and can have unplanned and negative effects. It's wise not to ask any oil that is not specifically formulated for extended drain intervals to perform like an extended drain oil and they wont warranty such usage either. An oil formulated for safe extended drain intervals does have a warranty for those extended drain intervals though. Check out my channel.
Strangely, the more overdue for an oil change I am, the better my gas mileage...As soon as I change my oil, I go from getting 27mpg to 23mpg...Well, that's Ford for ya.
@spacebearsDOTorg It is, actually. I check my odometer at each gas-up and do the math. It's odd, but it was like that with my father's Ford Escort, as well as my uncle's Ford truck, and all of our vehicles are about eight years apart in manufacturing age. It's not like that with my mother's Dodge Caravan, however.
"Using the cutting edge AMSOIL Ea nanofiber oil filter, it only needs to be changed every 25,0000 miles or one year."

@HiTechOilCo Id like to find some of this AMSOIL synthetic oil and filters, but I can't seem find any at Autozone OR at shucks oreilly. Don't tell me this "best" synthetic oil is only available by online order only. @GANTZ100pts - Top notch products don't tend to be found in discount auto parts stores, as that's just not their market niche. Kind of like you wont see a Ferrari sold at Chevy dealership, or a 5-star fillet mignon steak sold at a fast food restaurant, etc. Millions of people much prefer the convenience, money and time savings of ordering products online, which is one of the reasons E-bay has become the phenomenal success it is. Having a product delivered right to your door is a great....
@GANTZ100pts ...convenience, while you do something better with your time. I can line you up with wholesale prices if you wish and save you money. What year/make/model/engine vehicle do you have?
@HiTechOilCo As much as id like to buy this oil online i'd rather have the convenience of being able to buy it and have it immediately on hand so I can to my oil change that same day. But If auto zone or shucks takes orders and I can buy it that way then I might consider buying some. And it not that I just want to save money its just (like I said) I like the convenience of being able to just go to an auto stop and buy the stuff not have go through hoops and ladders to get it.
@GANTZ100pts - Many people would rather shop from the convenience and comfort of their own home, than to have to waste their time to drive somewhere, waste money on expensive gas, fight traffic, stand in line and then have to do it all over again on the way home. That's a lot of hoops and ladders, as opposed to shopping from the convenience and comfort of your own home in less than 5 minutes. No hoops and ladders there, that's for sure. :)
@Roushfan5 - In many instances, ordering online and paying shipping is still less costly, especially when some auto parts stores don't carry the better products that can save so much money.
@maersklandro - That's because petroleum oils have asphalts in them from the get-go. A brand new bottle of petroleum oil has all sorts of naturally occurring contaminants in it such as napthenes, benzynes, sulfurs, paraffin/wax, asphalts, etc. Top flight synthetic oils don't have this hodge podge of contaminants in them and can provide far better engine protection. A top synthetic oil would virtually never look like the oil in this video. Check out the, :"409k Oil Change", video at my channel.
@HiTechOilCo yeah, synthetic lasts much longer, but you still need to change the filter every few thousand miles, so u migth as well get new oil too. its not that expensive.
@pepene93 - Not many synthetic oils on the market today are safely capable of the rigors of extended drain intervals, as 99% of them aren't formulated for merely standard drain intervals, (contact the oil companies and ask, you'll see). AMSOIL synthetic motor oils is the only company in the world I am aware of that recommends and warranty's 25,000 mile + drain intervals. Using the cutting edge AMSOIL Ea nanofiber oil filter, it only needs to be changed every 25,0000 miles or one year.
@HiTechOilCo youre probably right. i use valvoline synthetic, because i wouldnt feel right going more than 3000 miles without a change (yeah, im weird)
@pepene93 - If I remember correctly, that's just a Group III, "synthetic oil", which is merely a petroleum oil subjected to more refining and in my opinion doesn't have all the benefits of a true Group IV P.A.O. based synthetic oil, such as AMSOIL, (one of the very, very few true true superior performing synthetic oils on the market. Check out my channel and subscribe. Regardless, it can go further than 3,000 miles. What year/make/model/engine vehicle do you own?
@HiTechOilCo i have a 1999 saturn sw2 (1.9L I4 DOHC MFI). i use that oil because its marginally more expensive than the other brands, and for some reason my car almost completely stopped burning oil after i switched. ive gone 17000 miles since last time i added, and the drop is insignificant. i used to have to add a quart every 200 miles or so.
@pepene93 - Are you saying that oil has 17,000 miles on it and you haven't changed it yet? Valvoline doesn't recommend this with their products and if you have an oil related failure within the engine, there is no warranty coverage. With AMSOIL products, there is, but not Valvoline, not for that long. How much do you pay per quart for that oil? How often are you changing it?
@HiTechOilCo whoops, added an extra 0 there. its at 1700 miles right now. i usually change every 3000. my point was that i went 1700 without having to add any, which is very surprising considering my car's history of burning a lot of oil. i pay $4 per quart. an oil change takes 3-4, but i buy 5qt bottles, so every few oil changes, i just need the filter.
@pepene93 -$4 per qt. X 4 quarts = $16, + say a $5 oil filter = $21. Add in sales tax of say 6%, ($1.26) and we have about $22.26 per oil change. Average miles traveled in a year is 12,000-15,000 miles, at 3,000 mile oil drain intervals that's 4-5 oil changes, or $89-$111 in oil change costs. Add in the cost of fuel to go get the oil and filter every 3,000 miles and the cost goes well over $100 on the low end and over $120 on the high end. With my products, I can save you about $45-$65.
@HiTechOilCo i actually dont drive that much. i do about 2-3 oil changes a year. i am open to alternatives though, as long as im sure theyll work at least as well as the stuff i use now.
@pepene93 - AMSOIL will work better, as it has ever since 1972. :) I save about $150 a year in fuel costs after switching my daily driver over to AMSOIL synthetic motor oils. If someone gave me another oil for *free*, it would cost me more to use than AMSOIL.
Markus Bott was murdered in 2009 by the BND which is the renamed GESTAPO because of our homepage linked on my channel. He had been tortured since 2004 to stop his human rights activities. Our homepage is linked on my channel.
I used to change oil when I was in college at one of those quicky-lube hells. There were probably two or three occasions where someone came in with 40,000 and 23,000 on their oil. Both vehicles ticked and had their factory gray (Ford) filters on them. One was a lease, and I hope that cheap tool had it handed up his ass when he turned it back in.
Does everything on the internet regarding motor have to turn into an AMSOIL marketing campaign? Really? I think AMSOIL is probably a fine, pricey boutique product. But this mindless spewing, testimonial bullshit from dealer-trolls makes me pass on it every time...
@Nickdfresh - The gentleman in question is a high school student relating his excellent results with AMSOIL. That's just a satisfied customer relating their experiences and of course there's nothing wrong with that. It certainly isn't mindless spewing, etc. I've been using AMSOIL in all of my vehicles for over 25 years primarily because it has saved me so many thousands of dollars compared to other oils. If someone gave me another oil for free, it would cost me most to use than AMSOIL.
Yep....NOTHING beats Amsoil. It is by far the best oil on the planet. Twenty-five thousand mile oil changes for six years in my old car......never had a problem. I gave the car to my sister when I got my new Camaro, it still ran great and used no oil.
My parents got a 1993 3.4L V6 Chevy Lumina and put nothing but AMSOIL in all the systems, changed the oil every year or 25,000 miles on it since it was brand new. Now, its mine, 200,000+ miles, rust, and the engine, and trans has never been cracked open for repairs. Now, its been sitting in the driveway for over a year because it needed a new alternator, I have no cash, I just jumped it last weekend, it started and ran. at first it was a little rough but loosened up back to its normal old self.
Th3Bu5h - Congratulations to you and your parents. :) They chose to take premium car of their vehicle and as a result have had a long lasting, inexpensive to maintain vehicle. As a suggestion, have you maybe tried an automotive recycling/junkyard for a used alternator? You might be able to pick one up at a very low price. I might be able to help you find one if you wish.
@skyman95946 When the throttle isnt stuck down, brakes dont work, driveshaft breaks, and power steering seizes up. lol. TOYOTA, You ask for it, You got it! bahahahahaah
i'm european and here we never do more then 6000 miles on a diesel before change the oil.
My car, a 94' vw golf tdi, for example, do 60% city and 40% highway, and after 4500/5000 miles i need to change the oil because it is too much dark and thick
most european cars will do 12,000 miles between oil changes. all toyotas are 8,000 k and american still have the avarage at 5,000. new oils do not break down like they used to. there being changed to much if you ask me. now if ur doing alot of offroading or sevear toeing or raceing you need to have that oil and motor purfecty clean. if ur doing easy city driveing and no dirty conditions. ur service interveals will last way longer. rember, dearlers want to service ur car! not cuz it needs it
i know that. isent that what a high quality ams oil filter is for???? or royal purple. there probley the two best on the market. yes if there was no filter then you would want to be changing it ever 1000 miles at leased
its the oil you buy that will help and stop sludge. ams oil royal purple, penzoil are some of the best on the maket. but for extended service intervenals. ams oil is probley the best. and newer filter like the royal purple oil filter will get rid of 99.99 somethink like that of the debree in the oil. its been proven. look it up. if u want u can run extra oil filters. and good quality oil will stop sludge. penz is the best for stoping sludge build up. and every time u chance ur oil. do a flush.
And doing a flush with a motor that has sludge is a good way to cause clog up the oil passages. and have no oil pressure at all.
Nothings going to stop sludge from forming when people only drive their car 3 blocks. If you think running 3 oil filters and magic oil is going to stop sludge, you have the engine lubrication system works.
taledarkside - 3,000 mile oil changes belong on the asheap of history. That's 1960's old school stuff. It's 2010 now. I've been using AMSOIL synthetic motor oil and 25,000 mile oil changes for many years with great results and no sludge. One of my customers went 409,000 miles in his heavy duty Mack diesel without changing the oil and the engine was in marvelous condition. I have the link to the video of the engine inspection if you are anyone is interested in seeing it.
You think city driving is easy on an engine? You need to give your head a shake. Idling and stop and go traffic are probably THE hardest conditions on an engine, and oil in particular!
And if you're talking about European cars in Europe, no, most of them will not go 12K miles on a change. Because most cars in Europe are diesels, and with the new EGR systems on all diesels nowadays you're changing the oil more frequently because of the increased soot levels.
never said city driveing is easy on an engine. but its not like raceing. and yes you are right about the EHR. i lived in europe years ago. and gas vehicles were every 8 or 12,000 miles. europe is also better on a car compared to north america. as europe has roundabouts instead of traffic lights. so you dont really stop until you get to ur destination. witch is nice. i wish they had them over here. would also improve fuel milage by a long shot.
@zeepman Tri-Cities Washington, lived there 2 years, the whole city has roundabouts and they work great, less accidents than with traffic lights, and you get where you need to go much more efficiently. Most of the accidents there happen at the intersections that are controlled by traffic lights.
cabuco2006 - Most vehicle manufacturers now recommend 7,500 mile oil changes. GM's oil life monitoring system is averaging over 8,000 mile drain intervals. Engines and motor oils are much better than from years ago.
taledarkside - GM's oil life monitoring system works very well and saves consumers huge amounts of money, helps the environment and reduces our national dependence on foreign oil. With my first hand experiences with AMSOIL synthetic motor oils over the previous 25 years and using 25,000 mile + extended drain intervals in all kinds of driving conditions, (including short trip), I've never had or seen a sludging issue occur. It's virtually chemically impossible for a synthetic oil to sludge.
hateeveryone1 - A new Cadillac is equipped with GM's oil life monitoring system that tells the driver when to change the oil. She'd have to be blind not to see the bright, "CHANGE OIL", light on the dashboard.
taledarkside - My point was I think it might be likely the original poster was telling a story, especially since all new Cadillac engines come factory filled with a good performing synthetic oil. :)
LOL i bought a 300zx off a guy, same thing. No oil changes for many miles at least a good 40,000 miles, and I think it was the left side cam that froze up, then timing belt snapped and bent all the valves in the right head. Didn't crack andy pistons, so I replaced both heads and went on my merry way, runs perfect.

I've seen Amsoil go 100K on a oil change with no problems. It's all about the oil and of course the filters. I also heard of a car going 350K on one oil change with no problems.
Amsoil is good, but not that good. 100k miles on the same oil? Give me a break. And 350k on the same oil? Whoever owns that car should be drowned in a vat of used oil. Fucking retards.
Why the hell would someone do this? If you're dumb enough to do this to a car you should have your license revoked! Probably someone that just drove it and never checked anything. "No lights on the dash are coming on so everything is OK"
I remember when I had to change the oil on a Jag that had around 40k miles and it was her first oil change. I had to stick a screwdriver in the drain hole to clear the chunks out of the way. I dont think more that a quart came out.
you guys are stupid that are just topping it up. AND....we had a truck come into our shop one time that had literally 4 drops of pure black sludge that came out of their engine. we pumped a few click of 520 through with the plug out to get anything else out we could...nothing.
I put more than 30k miles between oil changes in my 05 hyundai sonata. it has 177k miles on it. ran like new til the timing belt broke (also never been changed). finally had to replace engine 3 weeks ago. best car i've ever owned.
You should be blessed. I heard a story in the past about someone driving a new Dodge SUV, got 12,000 miles on it w/o changing the oil, and already, the engine was chock full of sludge.
Keep up with the oil changes. My recommendation would be 3000-4000 miles using conventional oil, 4000-5000 miles using synthetic blend, and 5000-6000 miles using full synthetic. The 10,000 mile oil changes are a good recipe for an early grave of your engine.
my neighbor has a dodge thats in the 60s never had the oil changed.Nearly 500,000 miles. But he just puts around with it.same story with my uncle 600,000 on a chevy shortbed thats a 71 i believe but never ha doil changed.Just keeps adding to it.
it would have to have a massive oil leak.i still say not possible.i never saw a dodge last 600,000 miles without a rebuild or two.especially without an oil change.
Viscosity means this Constantly doped...You talk to me like that again your ass is going to be constantly kicked:
ynamic viscosity is a measure of the ratio of the stress on a region of a fluid to the rate of change of strain it undergoes. It is equal to the kinematic viscosity times the density of the fluid. It is measured in pascal-seconds or poises.
HAHAHAHA nice try with the Google/Wiki paste you dumb fuck. You can't even get that right you retard. Your whore mother should of swallowed the shit load you came from. Your parents need to be shot, fucking scum bags!
What breakdown? Viscosity breakdown? HAHAHAHA you stupid fuck. What the fuck does that even mean? Do you even know the meaning of the word 'viscosity'? Come back when you have a PhD in Rheology.
HAHAHAHAHA I'm laughing so hard I think snot is flying out of my nose. You couldn't kick your way out of a faggot's fancy dress party. You are a pathetic little homo who needs to have his ass handed to him. Fucking deadshit!

pepene93 1 year ago
@pepene93 - Are you saying that oil has 17,000 miles on it and you haven't changed it yet? Valvoline doesn't recommend this with their products and if you have an oil related failure within the engine, there is no warranty coverage. With AMSOIL products, there is, but not Valvoline, not for that long. How much do you pay per quart for that oil? How often are you changing it?
HiTechOilCo 1 year ago
@HiTechOilCo whoops, added an extra 0 there. its at 1700 miles right now. i usually change every 3000. my point was that i went 1700 without having to add any, which is very surprising considering my car's history of burning a lot of oil. i pay $4 per quart. an oil change takes 3-4, but i buy 5qt bottles, so every few oil changes, i just need the filter.
pepene93 1 year ago
HiTechOilCo 1 year ago
@HiTechOilCo i actually dont drive that much. i do about 2-3 oil changes a year. i am open to alternatives though, as long as im sure theyll work at least as well as the stuff i use now.
pepene93 1 year ago
@pepene93 - AMSOIL will work better, as it has ever since 1972. :) I save about $150 a year in fuel costs after switching my daily driver over to AMSOIL synthetic motor oils. If someone gave me another oil for *free*, it would cost me more to use than AMSOIL.

Nickdfresh 1 year ago
Does everything on the internet regarding motor have to turn into an AMSOIL marketing campaign? Really? I think AMSOIL is probably a fine, pricey boutique product. But this mindless spewing, testimonial bullshit from dealer-trolls makes me pass on it every time...
Nickdfresh 1 year ago 2
@Nickdfresh - The gentleman in question is a high school student relating his excellent results with AMSOIL. That's just a satisfied customer relating their experiences and of course there's nothing wrong with that. It certainly isn't mindless spewing, etc. I've been using AMSOIL in all of my vehicles for over 25 years primarily because it has saved me so many thousands of dollars compared to other oils. If someone gave me another oil for free, it would cost me most to use than AMSOIL.
HiTechOilCo 1 year ago
Yep....NOTHING beats Amsoil. It is by far the best oil on the planet. Twenty-five thousand mile oil changes for six years in my old car......never had a problem. I gave the car to my sister when I got my new Camaro, it still ran great and used no oil.
hydrofobik1 1 year ago
My parents got a 1993 3.4L V6 Chevy Lumina and put nothing but AMSOIL in all the systems, changed the oil every year or 25,000 miles on it since it was brand new. Now, its mine, 200,000+ miles, rust, and the engine, and trans has never been cracked open for repairs. Now, its been sitting in the driveway for over a year because it needed a new alternator, I have no cash, I just jumped it last weekend, it started and ran. at first it was a little rough but loosened up back to its normal old self.
Th3Bu5h 1 year ago 2
Th3Bu5h - Congratulations to you and your parents. :) They chose to take premium car of their vehicle and as a result have had a long lasting, inexpensive to maintain vehicle. As a suggestion, have you maybe tried an automotive recycling/junkyard for a used alternator? You might be able to pick one up at a very low price. I might be able to help you find one if you wish.

i'm european and here we never do more then 6000 miles on a diesel before change the oil.
My car, a 94' vw golf tdi, for example, do 60% city and 40% highway, and after 4500/5000 miles i need to change the oil because it is too much dark and thick
tsukaluis 1 year ago
most european cars will do 12,000 miles between oil changes. all toyotas are 8,000 k and american still have the avarage at 5,000. new oils do not break down like they used to. there being changed to much if you ask me. now if ur doing alot of offroading or sevear toeing or raceing you need to have that oil and motor purfecty clean. if ur doing easy city driveing and no dirty conditions. ur service interveals will last way longer. rember, dearlers want to service ur car! not cuz it needs it
RM250D8rzr 2 years ago
@RM250D8rzr
oil still captures dirt, water and metal.
taledarkside 1 year ago
i know that. isent that what a high quality ams oil filter is for???? or royal purple. there probley the two best on the market. yes if there was no filter then you would want to be changing it ever 1000 miles at leased
RM250D8rzr 1 year ago
@RM250D8rzr
filter isn't going to capture everything.
and it isn't going to stop sludge
my air cooled vw that has no real oil filter requires 3,000 mile oil change.
taledarkside 1 year ago
its the oil you buy that will help and stop sludge. ams oil royal purple, penzoil are some of the best on the maket. but for extended service intervenals. ams oil is probley the best. and newer filter like the royal purple oil filter will get rid of 99.99 somethink like that of the debree in the oil. its been proven. look it up. if u want u can run extra oil filters. and good quality oil will stop sludge. penz is the best for stoping sludge build up. and every time u chance ur oil. do a flush.
RM250D8rzr 1 year ago
@RM250D8rzr
And doing a flush with a motor that has sludge is a good way to cause clog up the oil passages. and have no oil pressure at all.
Nothings going to stop sludge from forming when people only drive their car 3 blocks. If you think running 3 oil filters and magic oil is going to stop sludge, you have the engine lubrication system works.
taledarkside 1 year ago
i never said is was magic oil. and i never said it would stop (all) sludge. iam saying it wont cause and excessive amount of sludge build up
RM250D8rzr 1 year ago
@RM250D8rzr
Therefore, you need to change your oil frequently.
Look at what happened at Toyota engines when they were locking up because of sludge. main reason is because they are POS cars.
taledarkside 1 year ago
taledarkside - 3,000 mile oil changes belong on the asheap of history.
JohnQuincyAdams1 1 year ago
@RM250D8rzr
You think city driving is easy on an engine? You need to give your head a shake. Idling and stop and go traffic are probably THE hardest conditions on an engine, and oil in particular!
And if you're talking about European cars in Europe, no, most of them will not go 12K miles on a change. Because most cars in Europe are diesels, and with the new EGR systems on all diesels nowadays you're changing the oil more frequently because of the increased soot levels.
tokes1320 1 year ago
never said city driveing is easy on an engine. but its not like raceing. and yes you are right about the EHR. i lived in europe years ago. and gas vehicles were every 8 or 12,000 miles. europe is also better on a car compared to north america. as europe has roundabouts instead of traffic lights. so you dont really stop until you get to ur destination. witch is nice. i wish they had them over here. would also improve fuel milage by a long shot.
RM250D8rzr 1 year ago
@RM250D8rzr LOL I shudder to picture Americans on roundabouts...gody shops would be in love though!

@zeepman Tri-Cities Washington, lived there 2 years, the whole city has roundabouts and they work great, less accidents than with traffic lights, and you get where you need to go much more efficiently. Most of the accidents there happen at the intersections that are controlled by traffic lights.
JetBlueIce 1 year ago
wow. they obsivosoly did not care about their car at all. 5,000 is the max you should ever go on an oil change. and that is even pushing it.
cabuco2006 2 years ago
cabuco2006 - Most vehicle manufacturers now recommend 7,500 mile oil changes. GM's oil life monitoring system is averaging over 8,000 mile drain intervals. Engines and motor oils are much better than from years ago.
JohnQuincyAdams1 1 year ago
@JohnQuincyAdams1
GMs oil monitoring system is doing calculations based on algorithems on the driving style of the customers vehicle.
And are you saying sludge isn't caused from 2 min drives that causes condensation buildup?
taledarkside 1 year ago
taledarkside - GM's oil life monitoring system works very well and saves consumers huge amounts of money, helps the environment and reduces our national dependence on foreign oil. With my first hand experiences with AMSOIL synthetic motor oils over the previous 25 years and using 25,000 mile + extended drain intervals in all kinds of driving conditions, (including short trip), I've never had or seen a sludging issue occur. It's virtually chemically impossible for a synthetic oil to sludge.

in harder driving or on worn engines more often too.
highdeserthater 2 years ago
Keep up with the oil changes. My recommendation would be 3000-4000 miles using conventional oil, 4000-5000 miles using synthetic blend, and 5000-6000 miles using full synthetic. The 10,000 mile oil changes are a good recipe for an early grave of your engine.
