Mao was a great leader, he industrialized China, he made China strong enough to challenge USA imperialism, the life expectancy went UP dramatically for the Chinese people, the Communist party granted equal rights to women, the literacy rate went up dramatic under Mao Zedong, the old religious poisons of the old way were combated, before Mao famines were a way of life for the Chinese, after Mao there has not been a single famine.
@NijrawNetwork "Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures, the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind and greed, you mark my words, will . . . save . . . the U.S.A."
Our teacher in College made us watch the Michael Moore Capitialism a Love Story. (let alone a 2 page review of it's awesomeness). I don't feel that way but it sucks...
Capitalism is relatively new in human history. Prior to capitalism, the way people amassed great wealth was by looting, plundering and enslaving their fellow man. Capitalism made it possible to become wealthy by serving your fellow man. But let me point out that we have the "richest" poor ppl on earth.38 percent of the persons whom the Census Bureau identifies as "poor" own their own homes.
62 percent of "poor" households own a car; 14 percent own two or more cars. No other system allows this
I'd say Michael Moore is genius! He gets filthy rich using Capitalism to convince incredibly gullable people that Capitalism is evil. It's comical that there are people ignorant enough to stick up for this guy. Actually, it's kind of scary!
@TheClone3000 Mao was a great leader, he industrialized China, he made China strong enough to challenge USA imperialism, the life expectancy went UP dramatically for the Chinese people, the Communist party granted equal rights to women, the literacy rate went up dramatic under Mao Zedong, the old religious poisons of the old way were combated, before Mao famines were a way of life for the Chinese, after Mao there has not been a single famine.
@mycarnage2000 Chavez is a good leader, and even if he's making some harsh decisions, he's still a good leader. He's my last hope in the world of Communism.
@Iquickscopeonmw2 wow. Hitler was a "good leader". He was able to project himself and get a large part of Germany going in one direction. Being a good leader does not mean that what he is doing is good for the people he is doing it to.
Capitalism as we see it right now should be call industrialist where the big corporation get the big power because nobody can ensure who in head of the gouvernement.
@QCBEC Corporations only stand in a capitalist system as long as they're worth something. It's only when socialist legistlation like Obama's bailouts of failing big businesses that bad corporations still stand.
The corporation control you're gouvernement you stupid goof
Those that we call the bank owner even admit themself they exploit the fail of the system to make money but the fed doesnt do anything about it.
These are the "COLD FACT" that you talk to me about
You like obama, remember why you voted for obama, i know most of the people voted for him because he was the only one wanting to retire troops, did he?
Le leader cubain félicitait ainsi le millier de casseurs qui avaient attaqué à coups de cocktails Molotov, de pierres, de bouteilles et de balles de golf le périmètre de sécurité du sommet de Québec.
He admire our hunter for fucking shit up correctly as its said in the comment because he was not invited to the "SOMMET DES AMÉRIQUE" not sure why my people did that but if trudeau liked fidel then i like fidel.
Capitalism brought people out of poverty? Have you not heard of Imperial Russia, British Empire, Fascist Latin America, Apartheid South Africa and basically the whole concept of Capitalism? In the past people were self sufficient with land and they lived off it well...until the greedy Colonialist and Capitalist empires came and enforced slavery on people like the blacks. Now due to decades of protest by Socialist-related organizations the average standard of living has risen. Just a book.
Fidel Castro dictator? I believe he could have done better but he's way better than that dictator Batista who made his people a slave to American business men and officials. So US foreign policy fails full stop.
He calls Van Jones a Communist. Common right wing American. When ever a Fascist or Corporational extremist see a black man doing something good like supporting equal rights and black rights, no discrimination and environmentalism they call them a Communist. This is pure prejudice. Van Jones is an advisor for Barack Obama and Obama is Centrist. That is not Communism and Van Jones isn't left wing, maybe a Social Democrat. This man ^^ is skeptical about blacks and their positive ambitions. Kmt.
Too overly-idealistic about capitalism. Yes, it can be seen as something amazing, but people have warped "building a better mousetrap" into "manipulate them into thinking and feeling it's a better mousetrap". I.E. PR campaigns, advertising, lobbying, burying upstart competition in expensive rules and regulations that you push for your industry, cheating on those very rules, having customers sign contracts that are ridiculous, etc.
@captaincholera without them, you'd be out of a job. they took you on to do a service and pay you for it. would you rather a committee dictate to you what job you should have and what you can do with your money? before bashing capitalism, think of how much worse the alternative is.
@captaincholera What job were you expecting to have? Engineer? Scientist? Artist? Doctor? Lawyer?
You only get as far in life as much as you put into it. No matter how unfair, nothing will defeat you but yourself. So you can only blame yourself.
Fucked up shit has happened to the big entrepeneurs in their day, and they got past it and kept on going. If you can't manage to get out of what you think is a shit job, then you've obviously pissed your life away.
@MerlinsJester yo fuck you buddy, im sure its easy to sit here and say shit like that while you're probably living in the fucking suburbs with your mommy and daddy watching out for you at every turn. You really have no idea what youre talking about, not even close! may I ask what do you do for a living? my guess is you go to a white private school, and you aspire to work on wall street or some shit like that...
@MerlinsJester Im not racist against white people. but as a white person, you can't sit there and say that you understand anything about what its like to be a minority can you? I can tell you right now, being white in America is a hell of a lot easier than being a minority. If you don't think so then youre the one whos not thinking with your brain.
@Keithosullivan12 Dude, the subculture that's being reinforced within your culture is your people's own fault, not anyone else's. Don't blame shit on random people just because they got a foot up in life.
Oh, and I LOVE the comeback. Really classy. Real intelligent. Really shows off how smart you really are.
@MerlinsJester Im not blaming anything on anyone, all I'm saying is you're being an ignorant dick saying that minorities are worse off than white people because of their own faults. Also, you don't even know what subculture I belong to as a minority. It could be latino, it could be black, it could be native american, it could be middle eastern....but none of those subcultures are all about blaming shit on white people. Isay youre a close minded, arrogant guy. But I don't know you well enough.
@Keithosullivan12 Plenty of people have risen to great heights by their own work and achievements. It's not being ignorant to say so, it's being realistic and not falling for these stupid fairy tales of the black/brown/red/blue/pink man being held down by "THE MAN"(Be "he" of a race, social status, religion, or company). People rule their own lives more than they think, and their attitude towards that life and what they put into it greatly figures into it.
I watched his movie. It was an emotional appeal, 12 year old stunts, and it was clear by the end he did not understand Capitalism, not even the definition of Capitalism. If I turned a movie like his in for Polisci credit, I would've gotten a compassionate "C" for my relatively good filming skills (for a college student) and then told to do actual research, make actual arguments and most importantly understand what I am talking about.
Capitalism is evil. RIght To Work Law really means Right To Be A Slave Law. Freedom is only gained by paying your dues less taxes and freedom from paying your dues is greed and unamerican!
@carnypimp Congratulations, you are another people, whose name is going to the wall were I put the name of all the retarded people I have seen in my life.
@TheDakota671 Capitalism is an economic system, not an ideological one.
Do you somehow think that capitalism makes a person greedy, evil, and divisive? Human nature makes people evil, not a system.
It's like the arguments with religions or technology, i.e.: "if we didn't have [so much of X], we wouldn't have all these [problems]". I don't know what History class you went to, but it's pretty evident people didn't need anything specific to be brutal bastards to each other.
@TheDakota671 do you call a man who works hard everyday greedy for success? Capitalism has nothing to do with war or imperialism, and capitalism brings people out of poverty, you just think that if you steal peoples hard earned money you can get rid of it by force. If people know you're going to steal their money the world we live in would be a very different place. Sounds evil to me.
Greed, war, poverty, and imperialism are the results of human nature, not capitalism. The worst examples of the traits you list were communist countries.
@dragknuckle Human nature? There is no such thing as "human nature", there is human behavior, but not necissarily "nature" as in something that is inherrent in every human being. But thats another issue. How is poverty or imperialism at least "natural"? These are all things aggitated and encouraged by the Capitalist system. There have never been Communist countries. There have been Socialist and Socialistic and "Communist" countires with definite problems but these arent traits of them alone.
Look at the history of Man: poverty, war, greed, and slavery. There has never been a time when the majority of people in the world lived free and enjoyed prosperity. I would argue that Man's natural state is poverty and chains.
It is only through the brilliance of the Founding Fathers and the Free Market that you live free and prosperous today.
@dragknuckle Is that truly so? The majority of the worlds nations are Capitalist yet few are "free" and "democratic" and fewer are prosperous. So lets not go thanking Capitalism so quickly for these things. Man has no natural state. Humans are products of there own environment. Society is always evolving, Capitalism is just another social system that will die as Fuedalism did before it. Things must be looked at from a materialist perspective.
If humans are just products of their environment then so are you, rendering all of your opinions the product of your environment. It is a self-defeating position.
I freely admit that capitalism does not guarantee liberty or prosperity, but collectivism does guarantee misery, chains, and death.
And why must one look at things materialistically? If you use that perspective, nothing actually matters. We are all going to collapse into a quantum singularity, so what's the point?
@dragknuckle Firstly, I will admit I did present that point in a rather poor way. By this I mean humans will behave a certain way based on the enviornment they live in. For example, racism. Racism was much more severe in the south in the early 20th century than now, or other regions in America at the time. It was more common to find racists then because that was the social condition(jim crow, segregation, lynchings, etc.) compared to the modern world.
@dragknuckle Second, "I freely admit that capitalism does not guarantee liberty or prosperity..." then why should we have this social system if it doesn't give freedom and prosperity to the people in which live in these societies? Secondly, " but collectivism does guarantee misery, chains, and death." Socialism and Communism aren't Stalin forcing you to work on a collective. They're systems in which the major means of production, banks, factories, etc. are publicly and democratically owned.
If the means of production are collectively and communally owned, that means that I cannot produce things independently. It means that to produce something, I must yield to the forces of politics. As such, my liberty is inherently compromised by collectivism.
@dragknuckle Lastly, by materialistically, I meant more of the ideas of Dialectical materialism and Historical materialism, that everything is always changing. As I said in that reply to your comment "Society is always evolving, Capitalism is just another social system that will die as Fuedalism did before it." For example.
I understood what you meant by dialectical materialism. My point is that if dialectical materialism is true, then you only believe in dialectical materialism because of your environment. Self-defeating concept.
@dragknuckle Fact still remains that Capitalism sucks donkey penis. "Government of the people, by the people, for the people." What happened to that concept...?
I suppose that compared to the world you imagine, capitalism is a poor system. But in the real world, based on experience, it is an excellent system when contrasted with all of the alternatives. Collectivism is actually as step backward to tribalism.
As to the idea that "government of the people, by the people, for the people" somehow means collectivism, read The Federalist Papers, specifically #10.
@dragknuckle Capitalism only gives more power to a government with a blind public. Look at all of the things the gov is letting private agencies do...prison, military, medicine, etc. I might respect Capitalism more if it listened more to its people, rather than power, greed, and prosperity.
@AurorasWake For the record....free market capitalist are against the government controlling medicine, and prisons. Obviously the government should be in charge of the military but we are against civilian contractors making out with billions on shit that we will never use. That isn't capitalism.
@AurorasWake Capitalism doesn't do that. Democracy does. Sad but true. One of Aristotle's biggest fears about democracy was that a majority of people could vote to take away from those people who have more. Eventually it becomes easier to vote for someone elses property than to gain your own by working.
Do not think that I am saying that all cultures or people are equally bad. I believe in an absolute morality, and that it is possible to improve people. I just think that our victory over racism is largely the result of education and social pressure, not a change in our inherent suspicion of the different or desire to marginalize people. Some of the most powerful anti-racist voices engage in the same kind of demagogery as Bull Connor (Al Sharpton?). Morality is not materialist.
"Poverty existed BEFORE capitalism. It's capitalism that brought most of us out of it."
1) MOST OF US(citizien of the earth) are POOR.
2) with before capitalism you are talking about thousands of years ago, do you know that? when there were no coin. when u could trade something for something else.
3) 40% of the resource are owned by 1% of the people
"Imperialism is communistic"
buy a dictionary, when 2 different words exist usually is cause they have different meanings
@MaximilianHorizon "MOST of the people on this planet are "unable to support themselves"
Huh? I support myself. Do you support yourself?
"FROM THE POOR PEOPLE"
If you believe that, then you must also believe that those same poor people once had those resources; otherwise, they couldn't have taken it from them.
You don't know what free market capitalism is. You think you do and I try to correct you, but you are too damn stubborn to listen!
@MaximilianHorizon Hey moron, if you had some kind of a rebuttal procede. If you're going to answer a logical question with an ad hominem attack and not attack the argument, you're about as useful as a fart in a windstorm.
I could guarantee that based on your grammar, mentality and knowledge I am AT LEAST twice your age, or perhaps more.
I didn't invade any country moron. Government invaded countries. Government that I DIDN'T VOTE FOR!
@MaximilianHorizon You haven't given me a logical argument. Therefore, I cannot understand you.
I voted since I was 18. I'm 46 now. None of the candidates I voted for were elected. They were all third party that followed the constitution.
Claiming that I invaded other countries because of compulsory taxes I paid is like stating I shot someone because a murderer broke into my house and stole money to by the gun.
If it's my war because of taxes, then it's just as much YOUR war.....moron!
But the main problem with that logic is lets say, theres no rich (ppl making 10mil+) then who becomes the rich the middle class right? Through that logic the poor become the middle and whoever is left becomes the new poor. The main problem is that we've seen how socialism works and its collapse (look at Greece right now). The best way to fix our economy is probably to toss the progressive tax for a Flat or NIT system.
@MaximilianHorizon you do realize most the US (including poor people) are in this 1%. There are people starving in other countries who have no clean water, decent shelter, medical care, or any formal educational system. Your $1000 scenario is not even comparable to whats going on in Europe or the US. Yes there are greedy people in the world, but trust me there are people who view Americans as greedy based on their true poverty. So, who is right and who is wrong?
@MaximilianHorizon How many countries have you traveled to or lived in? I've been to 4 countries, lived in 2, and have family in Mexico, US, Finland and Sweden. I think I have clear perspective of what's going on in the world. People are dying in the streets here in Sweden and we do have healthcare, but its regulated based on the amount of money each clinic can spend, so people suffer and die. Its been a big controversy here. Research instead of regurgitating what you hear.
dude really.. how comes that everything that fails was socialism??? on fox news???
a lot of states in europe are failing and none of us is a socialist contry, the problem is that we have germany and greece sharing the same currency, that's the problem, nothing to do with socialism -.-
BTW they are failing cause their debts, USA have the biggest debt in the world, so if they are failed, than the states are failed too.
When you start taking personal responsibility out of the human equation and create a systemic need that the State must take care of the populous that are within the realm of personal control. Thats where you have problems. The main problem with the US is not a tax problem its a spending problem. The EU was created to compete with the US dollar, Greece is the posterboy of state run giveaways that destroy a nation with debt. We need a new way to fix the problem.
@MaximilianHorizon "have you any idea of how much of yours tax dollars(taken by government) are used to invade other countries?"
Actually, the government gets most of its war financing from borrowing and printing money.
It's not how much ownership one has in relation to others, it's how much power the people give to the government. If the government didn't have all the power that the liberals (like yourself) gave it, many rich people simply WOULD NOT BE RICH.
about ron paul im totally in his favour, he is the best out there, no doubt.
however also if he close up fed and remove troops from foreign country... it will be a huge step but the problems will still remains.
if you are in a situation where there are thousands of people that have nothing at all, while just a few owns everything, there is just one solution and that's take the wealth and share it
"Federal Reserve notes are NOT part of Capitalism. Gold & Silver are money in a capitalist system"
WTF? o_O
I said that when you say "before capitalism" you are talking about trade a stuff for another stuff(not involving coin of any type), so you are talking about thousands of years ago.
@MaximilianHorizon If I trade a chunck of gold or silver for a cow, did I not trade a stuff for a stuff?
Bartering is fundamental to capitalism. Using gold & silver as money is still bartering, with the exception of calling it a medium of exchange. It makes no difference if I trade a two pigs for a cow or I trade two pigs for a piece of gold and trade the piece of gold later for two pigs. The outcome is the same.
"I don't care what percentage of people own what. As long as I can support my family and live good I'm happy" First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

@MaximilianHorizon "buy a dictionary, when 2 different words exist usually is cause they have different meanings"
Why would I do that when I have Wiki?
"The imperialism of the last 500 years, as described by the above work, is primarily a western undertaking that employs "expansionist – mercantilism and latterly communist – systems." - Wikipedia
an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, especially as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth.
Pravda: official organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party between 1912 and 1991.
the word CAPITALism comes from CAPITAL and the definition of "capitalism" is simply "system based on private ownership".
China have a lot of strictly law(communist laws), but they DO NOT own(the private system it's still there).
that's why usa corporation fired your people to open up new place in china, they still OWN everything, it's still PRIVATE, they are just paying less their workers.
First, this clown is railing against the media for lack of vetting Van Jones and then the little twerp lies through his teeth about Hugo Chavez. The only people protesting Hugo Chavez are a handful of rich who are not permitted to get richer from Venezuelan oil at the expense of the Venezuelan people. When the US backed a coup in 2002, over 200,000 unarmed civilians stormed the palace to free Hugo Chavez. This youtube source is a right wing propaganda machine and not to be trusted at all.
@bsharker You offer no facts or sources to support anything you say. You just spout insults like a child. You waste your time and only make reasonable people more likely to see my arguments as credible, which they are.
@Mugchgu I told you to stop using Christianity as your shield for your failed political ideology. And to stop taking quotes and twisting them. Dumbocrat accuse someone else of no facts or sources? #LOL your world must be truly upside down.
@Mugchgu One more reply. Even though socialism is thoroughly flawed I will point out just one of them. Socialism requires theft. Stealing from someone who is more abundant with their resources and giving it to someone less abundant. 3 of the things the Bible teaches are: God owns the earth, man is it's steward, theft is immoral. How can you have something so simple wrong. I am questioning if you're even a Christian. How do you get into heaven? (this is not a trick question)
@bsharker Well see, there you have it. You don't know what socialism is. That explains a lot. Maybe you should open an encyclopedia and look it up. Maybe then you'd know the real definition of freedom. You'd also know that the real definition of theft is a few undeserving people becoming rich as a direct result of other people's labor, people who will later be cast aside when they're no longer useful. For now, keep licking your master's boots and calling him good. God will teach you different.
@Mugchgu You automatically assume the rich man is evil and undeserving of the money he makes. You reek of jealousy and contempt for your neighbor was is more successful than you could ever hope to be. And yes, stealing is stealing is stealing. Stealing 5% more of the top rich in the country to pay for another gov run failed program is stealing. You have much to learn about the world.
@bsharker A socialist society is a social structure organized on the basis of relatively equal power-relations, self-management, dispersed decision-making and a reduction or elimination of hierarchical and bureaucratic forms of administration and governance; the extent of which varies in different types of socialism. This ranges from the establishment of cooperative management structures in the economy to the abolition of all hierarchical structures in favor of free association.
@Mugchgu If it's a management of power like you admitted, then it's not free. Under your failed ideology, the man who excels out of the norm and makes a profit out of his product or service is stripped away from his reward and it it distributed to the undeserving others. Under your failed ideas, there is no incentive to work harder than your neighbor. You fail at life, like I said before, watch Nov 2nd replay and choke yourself.
@bsharker During the cold war, one of the two super-powers of the world was a Socialist country. Today, China is kicking our butts in science and technology and our government owes them about a trillion dollars. The same greed of capitalism that you praise is going to collapse the American empire. I'm not a socialist but I do believe in limits. Unrestricted capitalism is not sustainable but since the rich will not abide limits, It's all going to come crashing down.
@bsharker A man is not evil simply by being wealthy. If there is enough for everyone to thrive, then who cares if one man has more than another or for what reason. But it doesn't stop there, does it? That's not how greed works. Today, the top 1% have over half the wealth and still want more. Those who don't have enough are blamed for their own predicament. The poorest work the hardest and are labeled as the laziest. You think that greed is the only incentive to do anything and call yourself a

That's not how greed works. Today, the top 1% have over half the wealth and still want more. Those who don't have enough are stigmatized as underachievers. The poorest work the hardest and are labeled as the laziest. You think that greed is the only incentive to do anything and call yourself a Christian?
@Mugchgu You substitute prosperity for greed. God gave us free will for choice. If someone chooses to make a lot of money. It is immoral for you to come in and steal it, and pass it to others who didn't make that much. You are immoral, and your ideas are destructive.
@bsharker Jesus said that no one should strive to have more than he needs. (Mathew 6: 25-33) Anyone can choose to make a lot of money but actually making it without the labor of others is another story. Exploitation and extortion is how most people get rich. I guess you call that moral. There is nothing more destructive than unregulated capitalism. America has raped the world of it's resources, destroyed democracies and killed millions of innocent people all in the name of greed.
@Mugchgu Oh look, another Bible verse changed completely for your liking. Actually capitalism is the reason you even have a job right now (if you aren't on welfare already). So that means you are being exploited for your skills? No, they hired you, and you accepted. That what rich people do. They start businesses, the hire people. And both are better off. Careful, your tinfoil hat is going crooked, you better fix that.
@bsharker Your thought processes are completely backward. Welfare is a product of capitalism. In socialist countries, there is 0% voluntary unemployment. Everyone contributes to society and everyone benefits from the fruits of labor. Oh and the notion that liberals were against the civil rights movement is laughable. Care to offer some evidence to support that claim? You have no facts or credibility, only insults. That's the way children argue.
@Mugchgu Huh? Did the Jim Crow laws, KKK, or all the Democrats fighting against civil rights reform in history not exist in your delusional world? In socialist countries likes Cuba, the facts show they would rather die trying to come to America than live there. The only way your Dumbocrat argument could hold water is when you dismiss all facts and reality, which you seem to already demonstrate.
@bsharker Oh but you didn't say "Democrats" you said "liberals." Do a little more study of history next time. Prior to the civil right movement, conservatives were mostly Democrats. When Johnson signed the Civil rights act, he told his cabinet that he was probably signing over the south to the Republicans. He was right. Conservatives changed parties because of it. So, Jim Crow Laws, the KKK , all those racists assholes, they were conservatives, not liberals. Now don't you feel foolish?
@bsharker What you said about Cuba is also derived from incomplete and inaccurate information. To deter communism, the US has had a blockade of Cuba in place for decades, literally trying to starve people to death to change their political beliefs. In much the same way, the US bombed Iraqs water treatment plants followed by 10 yrs of sanctions forbidding any country to sell them chlorine. 1 million Iraqis died from diseases related to that. Half were children under the age of 5.
@bsharker Sweden has a thriving economy. The US government actually owes their government money. They have fairly free markets and a socialist government. They are superior to America in academics, have lower crime and a higher standard of living than the average American. Learn to think for yourself. Don't just believe what others tell you because it sounds good. The ones feeding you misinformation don't have your best interests in mind.
@Mugchgu You drink Main Stream Media garbage like kool aide and tell me to think for myself? You are the one who needs to start thinking for yourself. Obama zombie
@bsharker Once again, you have nothing to offer but insults. That doesn't impress me. When you have something substantial to disprove anything I've said, let me know. Good luck finding a theologian who will tell you those bible verses mean anything other than what I've already told you. I won't waste any more of my time being flame baited by an Internet Troll.

Keithosullivan12 7 months ago
@Keithosullivan12 Plenty of people have risen to great heights by their own work and achievements. It's not being ignorant to say so, it's being realistic and not falling for these stupid fairy tales of the black/brown/red/blue/pink man being held down by "THE MAN"(Be "he" of a race, social status, religion, or company). People rule their own lives more than they think, and their attitude towards that life and what they put into it greatly figures into it.
That's all there is to it.

TheDakota671 9 months ago 5
@TheDakota671 Greed is different then a desire to create wealth isn't greed. Imperialism is not and was never part of the US's history.
kesselster 9 months ago
@TheDakota671 Capitalism is an economic system, not an ideological one.
Do you somehow think that capitalism makes a person greedy, evil, and divisive? Human nature makes people evil, not a system.
It's like the arguments with religions or technology, i.e.: "if we didn't have [so much of X], we wouldn't have all these [problems]". I don't know what History class you went to, but it's pretty evident people didn't need anything specific to be brutal bastards to each other.
MerlinsJester 7 months ago
@TheDakota671 do you call a man who works hard everyday greedy for success? Capitalism has nothing to do with war or imperialism, and capitalism brings people out of poverty, you just think that if you steal peoples hard earned money you can get rid of it by force. If people know you're going to steal their money the world we live in would be a very different place. Sounds evil to me.
Vintexen 7 months ago
@TheDakota671
Greed, war, poverty, and imperialism are the results of human nature, not capitalism. The worst examples of the traits you list were communist countries.
dragknuckle 6 months ago
@dragknuckle Human nature? There is no such thing as "human nature", there is human behavior, but not necissarily "nature" as in something that is inherrent in every human being. But thats another issue. How is poverty or imperialism at least "natural"? These are all things aggitated and encouraged by the Capitalist system. There have never been Communist countries. There have been Socialist and Socialistic and "Communist" countires with definite problems but these arent traits of them alone.
TheDakota671 6 months ago
@TheDakota671
Look at the history of Man: poverty, war, greed, and slavery. There has never been a time when the majority of people in the world lived free and enjoyed prosperity. I would argue that Man's natural state is poverty and chains.
It is only through the brilliance of the Founding Fathers and the Free Market that you live free and prosperous today.
dragknuckle 6 months ago
@dragknuckle Is that truly so? The majority of the worlds nations are Capitalist yet few are "free" and "democratic" and fewer are prosperous. So lets not go thanking Capitalism so quickly for these things. Man has no natural state. Humans are products of there own environment. Society is always evolving, Capitalism is just another social system that will die as Fuedalism did before it. Things must be looked at from a materialist perspective.
TheDakota671 6 months ago
@TheDakota671
We are all going to collapse into a quantum singularity, so what's the point?
dragknuckle 6 months ago
@dragknuckle Firstly, I will admit I did present that point in a rather poor way. By this I mean humans will behave a certain way based on the enviornment they live in. For example, racism. Racism was much more severe in the south in the early 20th century than now, or other regions in America at the time. It was more common to find racists then because that was the social condition(jim crow, segregation, lynchings, etc.) compared to the modern world.
TheDakota671 6 months ago
@dragknuckle Second, "I freely admit that capitalism does not guarantee liberty or prosperity..." then why should we have this social system if it doesn't give freedom and prosperity to the people in which live in these societies? Secondly, " but collectivism does guarantee misery, chains, and death." Socialism and Communism aren't Stalin forcing you to work on a collective. They're systems in which the major means of production, banks, factories, etc. are publicly and democratically owned.
TheDakota671 6 months ago
@TheDakota671
If the means of production are collectively and communally owned, that means that I cannot produce things independently. It means that to produce something, I must yield to the forces of politics. As such, my liberty is inherently compromised by collectivism.
dragknuckle 6 months ago
@dragknuckle Lastly, by materialistically, I meant more of the ideas of Dialectical materialism and Historical materialism, that everything is always changing. As I said in that reply to your comment "Society is always evolving, Capitalism is just another social system that will die as Fuedalism did before it." For example.
TheDakota671 6 months ago
@TheDakota671
I understood what you meant by dialectical materialism. My point is that if dialectical materialism is true, then you only believe in dialectical materialism because of your environment. Self-defeating concept.
dragknuckle 6 months ago
@dragknuckle Fact still remains that Capitalism sucks donkey penis. "Government of the people, by the people, for the people." What happened to that concept...?
AurorasWake 6 months ago
@AurorasWake
I suppose that compared to the world you imagine, capitalism is a poor system. But in the real world, based on experience, it is an excellent system when contrasted with all of the alternatives. Collectivism is actually as step backward to tribalism.
As to the idea that "government of the people, by the people, for the people" somehow means collectivism, read The Federalist Papers, specifically #10.
dragknuckle 6 months ago
@dragknuckle Capitalism only gives more power to a government with a blind public. Look at all of the things the gov is letting private agencies do...prison, military, medicine, etc. I might respect Capitalism more if it listened more to its people, rather than power, greed, and prosperity.
AurorasWake 6 months ago
@AurorasWake For the record....free market capitalist are against the government controlling medicine, and prisons. Obviously the government should be in charge of the military but we are against civilian contractors making out with billions on shit that we will never use. That isn't capitalism.
mixmastermeeks 5 months ago
@mixmastermeeks Like I said, Capitalism only gives more power to a government with a blind public.
AurorasWake 5 months ago
@AurorasWake Capitalism doesn't do that. Democracy does. Sad but true. One of Aristotle's biggest fears about democracy was that a majority of people could vote to take away from those people who have more. Eventually it becomes easier to vote for someone elses property than to gain your own by working.
mixmastermeeks 5 months ago
@TheDakota671

I didn't invade any country moron. Government invaded countries. Government that I DIDN'T VOTE FOR!
Once again, if you have a point, make it! or STFU
jjenson2006 4 months ago
@jjenson2006
dude.. I tried... but you are NOT ABLE to understand a logical argument.
"Government invaded countries. Government that I DIDN'T VOTE FOR!"
maybe you never voted in your life but that's not the point, the point is that still your wealth is thanks to those countries that you invaded.
and I say YOU cause YOU support them with YOURS tax dollars.
beside that.. you never had any problem using foreign country oil did you?
MaximilianHorizon 4 months ago
@MaximilianHorizon You haven't given me a logical argument. Therefore, I cannot understand you.
I voted since I was 18. I'm 46 now. None of the candidates I voted for were elected. They were all third party that followed the constitution.
Claiming that I invaded other countries because of compulsory taxes I paid is like stating I shot someone because a murderer broke into my house and stole money to by the gun.
If it's my war because of taxes, then it's just as much YOUR war.....moron!
jjenson2006 4 months ago
@jjenson2006
"If it's my war because of taxes, then it's just as much YOUR war"
exactly, the difference is that I admit it.
but again... the point was to recognise the capitalism as the only way throough you can do something like that.
it is NOT the best system, it's the ONLY system that we EVER had.
there is only 1 fact: if there is someone who have too much, than there is also someone else with not enough.
capitalism makes few people rich and a lot of people poor, that's it
MaximilianHorizon 4 months ago
@MaximilianHorizon
The best way to fix our economy is probably to toss the progressive tax for a Flat or NIT system.
avdquick 3 months ago

"we've seen how socialism works and its collapse (look at Greece right now)"
o_O so greece was a socialist country? HAHAHAHAAHAHA it's even inside the euro! it cannot be a socialist country not even if he want.
dude it's quite simple:
you have 100 people and 1000$, if someone can have 990$ that means that 100people will have to share only 10$.
and that's precisely our actual situation, the 1% rich owns everything, and there is nothing left for the others
MaximilianHorizon 3 months ago
@MaximilianHorizon you do realize most the US (including poor people) are in this 1%. There are people starving in other countries who have no clean water, decent shelter, medical care, or any formal educational system. Your $1000 scenario is not even comparable to whats going on in Europe or the US. Yes there are greedy people in the world, but trust me there are people who view Americans as greedy based on their true poverty. So, who is right and who is wrong?

no lol.... that's only true if you believe to live in the best country in the world and never been anywhere else.
most of the country of the world have a universal medical system, so you are actually the ones that have people who die in the streets.
for there more you dont make any sense, if you consider ONLY usa still 40% of their resources is in the hands of 1% of american people.
MaximilianHorizon 3 weeks ago
@MaximilianHorizon How many countries have you traveled to or lived in? I've been to 4 countries, lived in 2, and have family in Mexico, US, Finland and Sweden. I think I have clear perspective of what's going on in the world. People are dying in the streets here in Sweden and we do have healthcare, but its regulated based on the amount of money each clinic can spend, so people suffer and die. Its been a big controversy here. Research instead of regurgitating what you hear.

@verlouria
what part of your comment have something to do with mine??
you said: "you do realize most the US (including poor people) are in this 1%"
and I said it's bullshit for 2 reason:
1) 1% of the americans owns, 40% of the AMERICAN resources, so is mathematically impossible that "most of the people" are in this 1%.
2) you do NOT have a UNIVERSAL health care system.

@avdquick
dude really.. how comes that everything that fails was socialism??? on fox news???
a lot of states in europe are failing and none of us is a socialist contry, the problem is that we have germany and greece sharing the same currency, that's the problem, nothing to do with socialism -.-
BTW they are failing cause their debts, USA have the biggest debt in the world, so if they are failed, than the states are failed too.
MaximilianHorizon 3 months ago
@MaximilianHorizon

@jjenson2006
you said:
"Have you any idea of how much of our tax dollars (taken by government) are sent to Africa?"
so my question is:
have you any idea of how much of yours tax dollars(taken by government) are used to invade other countries?
the simple fact that you dont find anything wrong when 1% of the people owns 40% of the planet resources is a proof that you are an idiot.
there isnt any reason to try to reason with someone who is not able to.
MaximilianHorizon 4 months ago
@MaximilianHorizon "have you any idea of how much of yours tax dollars(taken by government) are used to invade other countries?"
Actually, the government gets most of its war financing from borrowing and printing money.
It's not how much ownership one has in relation to others, it's how much power the people give to the government. If the government didn't have all the power that the liberals (like yourself) gave it, many rich people simply WOULD NOT BE RICH.

creating debts that you pay with your taxes -.-
"If the government didn't have all the power that the liberals (like yourself) gave it"
im not liberal and watch what ron paul want to do.
so your point is that corprotocracy is the real problem instead of capitalism?
I can agree with that but remember that capitalism still have it's OWN problems
MaximilianHorizon 4 months ago
@MaximilianHorizon "creating debts that you pay with your taxes"
..or to be more accurate. ...that EVERYONE is FORCED to pay at GUNPOINT.
"im not liberal"
Then I don't know what you are.
"and watch what ron paul want to do."
I stand behind what he wants to do; prevent illegal wars and money printing.
Yes, it's not a perfect system, but it is the MOST perfect.
There will always be evil no matter what, but real Capitalism puts the power in the hands of the individual.

im not denying it, but it is what it is.
about ron paul im totally in his favour, he is the best out there, no doubt.
however also if he close up fed and remove troops from foreign country... it will be a huge step but the problems will still remains.
if you are in a situation where there are thousands of people that have nothing at all, while just a few owns everything, there is just one solution and that's take the wealth and share it

"Federal Reserve notes are NOT part of Capitalism. Gold & Silver are money in a capitalist system"
WTF? o_O
I said that when you say "before capitalism" you are talking about trade a stuff for another stuff(not involving coin of any type), so you are talking about thousands of years ago.
what do your comment have to do with mine??
MaximilianHorizon 4 months ago
@MaximilianHorizon If I trade a chunck of gold or silver for a cow, did I not trade a stuff for a stuff?
Bartering is fundamental to capitalism. Using gold & silver as money is still bartering, with the exception of calling it a medium of exchange. It makes no difference if I trade a two pigs for a cow or I trade two pigs for a piece of gold and trade the piece of gold later for two pigs. The outcome is the same.

so this is supposed to be the opposite of capitalism? -.-

first of all CHINA IS CAPITALIST, they use MONEY. communism can be compared with fascism/democracy/etc., capitalism is not a form of government.
1) 300'000 died in China+India+Nigeria+Pakistan+Congo in the year 2009
total population = over 2'500'000'000
people that will NEVER SEE a doctor in his life in usa: 50'000'000
total population usa = 300'000'000
do your math

again... even if you are pro-capitalism or against it that sentence make no sence.
you are talking about dictatorship/oligarchy vs democracy.
capitalism IS NOT a form of government.
china use capital, they have a market so they are capitalist as much as every other country.
their FORM of government is different
4) "Pravda, CNN,msnbc"
LOL THOSE ARE CORPORATION! MORE CAPITALISM THAN THAT!

@MaximilianHorizon "in soviet Russia"
using capital doesn't make you a capitalist
cap·i·tal·ism [kap-i-tl-iz-uhm]
noun
an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, especially as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth.
Pravda: official organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party between 1912 and 1991.
landofthebravefull 4 months ago
@landofthebravefull
"using capital doesn't make you a capitalist"
the word CAPITALism comes from CAPITAL and the definition of "capitalism" is simply "system based on private ownership".
China have a lot of strictly law(communist laws), but they DO NOT own(the private system it's still there).
that's why usa corporation fired your people to open up new place in china, they still OWN everything, it's still PRIVATE, they are just paying less their workers.
so as u can see.. china is capitalist

(this is not a trick question)
bsharker 1 year ago
@bsharker Well see, there you have it. You don't know what socialism is. That explains a lot. Maybe you should open an encyclopedia and look it up. Maybe then you'd know the real definition of freedom. You'd also know that the real definition of theft is a few undeserving people becoming rich as a direct result of other people's labor, people who will later be cast aside when they're no longer useful. For now, keep licking your master's boots and calling him good. God will teach you different.
Mugchgu 1 year ago
@Mugchgu You automatically assume the rich man is evil and undeserving of the money he makes. You reek of jealousy and contempt for your neighbor was is more successful than you could ever hope to be. And yes, stealing is stealing is stealing. Stealing 5% more of the top rich in the country to pay for another gov run failed program is stealing. You have much to learn about the world.
bsharker 1 year ago
@bsharker A socialist society is a social structure organized on the basis of relatively equal power-relations, self-management, dispersed decision-making and a reduction or elimination of hierarchical and bureaucratic forms of administration and governance; the extent of which varies in different types of socialism. This ranges from the establishment of cooperative management structures in the economy to the abolition of all hierarchical structures in favor of free association.
Mugchgu 1 year ago

Mugchgu 1 year ago
@Mugchgu You substitute prosperity for greed. God gave us free will for choice. If someone chooses to make a lot of money. It is immoral for you to come in and steal it, and pass it to others who didn't make that much. You are immoral, and your ideas are destructive.
bsharker 1 year ago
@bsharker Jesus said that no one should strive to have more than he needs. (Mathew 6: 25-33) Anyone can choose to make a lot of money but actually making it without the labor of others is another story. Exploitation and extortion is how most people get rich. I guess you call that moral. There is nothing more destructive than unregulated capitalism. America has raped the world of it's resources, destroyed democracies and killed millions of innocent people all in the name of greed.
Mugchgu 1 year ago
@Mugchgu Oh look, another Bible verse changed completely for your liking. Actually capitalism is the reason you even have a job right now (if you aren't on welfare already). So that means you are being exploited for your skills? No, they hired you, and you accepted. That what rich people do. They start businesses, the hire people. And both are better off. Careful, your tinfoil hat is going crooked, you better fix that.
bsharker 1 year ago
@bsharker Your thought processes are completely backward. Welfare is a product of capitalism. In socialist countries, there is 0% voluntary unemployment. Everyone contributes to society and everyone benefits from the fruits of labor. Oh and the notion that liberals were against the civil rights movement is laughable. Care to offer some evidence to support that claim? You have no facts or credibility, only insults. That's the way children argue.
Mugchgu 1 year ago
@Mugchgu Huh? Did the Jim Crow laws, KKK, or all the Democrats fighting against civil rights reform in history not exist in your delusional world? In socialist countries likes Cuba, the facts show they would rather die trying to come to America than live there. The only way your Dumbocrat argument could hold water is when you dismiss all facts and reality, which you seem to already demonstrate.
bsharker 1 year ago
@bsharker Oh but you didn't say "Democrats" you said "liberals." Do a little more study of history next time. Prior to the civil right movement, conservatives were mostly Democrats. When Johnson signed the Civil rights act, he told his cabinet that he was probably signing over the south to the Republicans. He was right. Conservatives changed parties because of it. So, Jim Crow Laws, the KKK , all those racists assholes, they were conservatives, not liberals. Now don't you feel foolish?
Mugchgu 1 year ago
@bsharker What you said about Cuba is also derived from incomplete and inaccurate information. To deter communism, the US has had a blockade of Cuba in place for decades, literally trying to starve people to death to change their political beliefs. In much the same way, the US bombed Iraqs water treatment plants followed by 10 yrs of sanctions forbidding any country to sell them chlorine. 1 million Iraqis died from diseases related to that. Half were children under the age of 5.
Grow up kid.
