Hey rather than installing the XP version 2.1, is there a reason you don't suggest WMM 2.6 or better yet, WMM 6.0. Personally I like the last version. Installers (and custom transitions/effects/titles can be found at:

You can also get Windows Movie Maker 2.6 from the Microsoft website. There is also a Windows Movie Maker 6 for Windows Vista. Which also works on Windows 7. But that is more like Windows Live Movie Maker, and I did not like it. But 2.6 is exactly the same as Windows Movie Maker 2.1 that is on Windows XP. And 2.6 is the best version to get and is better than the later versions. Andrea Borman.

After you install winRAR, you'll be able to download Movie Maker and/or Paint. When the winRAR window is open, just drag the file(s) inside to your desktop (or wherever else you'd like to save it) and it should work fine ^_^

Go to the start menu, right click on COMPUTER and click PROPERTIES. It will bring up a screen with several bits of text; it will tell you whether you have a 32 or 64 bit operating system under SYSTEM TYPE:. Good luck :-D

If you have winRAR already, you just click on the Paint Download link in the description and wait for the MegaUpload free download link to become available. Click it, and save/open and extract the contents of the archive wherever you want.

Download WinRAR from the description (either 32 or 64bit depending on your computer), then, download either paint or Movie Maker, and once it finishes, you can open the archive with WinRAR. Just drag and drop the applications in the WinRAR archive wherever you'd like, and that should do it! :-D

It will continue to say it is a trial, but you will always be able to close the message out without any repercussions. Basically, it's free to use and lasts forever. If you want to use the programs without winRAR, extract the files to your computer and load them from there :-D

I assume you're talking about Paint? If so, this is the Vista version of paint, it should have all the functionality. I've gotten my paintbrush larger with no problems. Try the magnifier if anything. ^_^
