It was almost unreal to me. Then the second time I sent him a letter to his address and got another autographed picture, and two weeks after that I met him again in california. I was there to visit family and he was walking the street going to some shoe store and I had a great little chat.

Gerard deserves major props for his friendly, comic nature here & his Celtic upbringing w/ the offer of coffee for the paparazzi. My paternal family started from 2 brothers coming to USA from Ireland & marrying Cherokee wives in the 1600s. Except for my bio dad, the others would invite strangers or wild animals into their homes for coffee/tea/meal. I guess that tradition doesn't diminish no matter the centuries that pass. LOL!
