the only reason they knew about weebay's location was because d'angelo snitched on him...he could've been in the Bahamas, Mexico, or Cali but still would've got caught cause d'angelo rolled...b-more cops arrested him cause even though he was in philly (where he moved to doge bmore cops) the evidence of dirtt was in b-more where they could try and convict him
@officerbrett They have to ask the city of Philadelphia to enter into Philly's jurisdiction. Which means Philly police department now has to help apprehend weebay and arrest him but since he did the crime in Baltimore, Philly's police department had to give him back to Baltimore.
It appears that they filmed in Baltimore simply that the side streets do not look narrow enough to be Philly's side streets. Baltimore's side streets some are narrow but some are not and some are two way and some are one way. Almost all of Philly's side streets are extremely narrow and one way. The design of rowhouses in both cities are very similar however.
One thing I love about The Wire, they pay attention to the little details. That is exactly how a Philly cop car looks, the logo is right and everything--maybe they even filmed this scene in Philly.
I know...Naymond grew up spoiled of the riches his father gace him..and his gold digging mum. He had an upper midle class life, unlike his neigbours and friends who had nothing. he never had the hunger to get anything. he also had a big mouth courtesy of just go telling to his daddy and he`d fix it..
LOL Wee-Bay was the most complex person on the show. He kill a person without questions or even blinking. But he got love for fishes. Here he going to jail and he's more concern about his car as if he gonna drive it again. He take all the murders for the Barksdale Crew with out blinking but seem distraught because they were out of potatoe salad. The C.O. fuck with him and fuck up his room and he told Avon "he fuck with my fish A, he didn't have to go there" and the fish were plastic. LOL!!!
Geez, you think with the money the Barksdales had they'd have moved his ass to to the Bahamas, Mexico or Cali or someplace. But what the heck they move him only a couple miles away in Philly!!!!!
@groffo12345 they had money, and street smarts, but not worldly knowledge. They knew their own town better than anyone, but most of them were pretty ignorant about the outside world (for instance, Bodie not knowing that radio stations change when you leave town). To them Philly might as well be the other side of the world. People like Prop Joe understood it, he dealt with Carribean Banks and International smugglers, but Avon and crew never really did.
@agent1442 Well I'd say that Avon and Stringer knew about International shit, they dealt with those Dominicans for their package, plus Avon knew about "the Greek". But the rest of their crew, certainly not. And you wouldn't expect low level street dudes to know much about outside of their element.
Dats how you do it ... you hear your alarm going off go find out wats happening as you are ... a scary dude that knew it was his alarm would be looking out the window or putting clothes on lol...
D got put off to Bey & the rest of those dudes after he saw what they did to that whore that OD'd & just got rolled up in a rug & put in a dumpster. He saw that really these were some bad dudes - Bird Bey Stinkum, all of them. They would probably cap his ass if told to & not even think twice about it. Which is what he thought was happening during the WeeBey's fish scene. Add to that being asked to do 20yrs for these guys & u see why he'd say "Fuck em". He'd be a real sucker otherwise.
**SPOILERS** That's the thing. Weren't Marlo and Avon warring just a couple of years earlier? And yet at the end of season 5 they show Chris & WeeBey chilling in jail like it's no thing. You would think Avon and his crew would have some scores to settle with Marlo's people. A lot of Season 5 didn't make sense like that, and clearly, 10 episodes just weren't enough. There were still too many stories to be told. We only see Randy and Naymond/Bunny Colvin for like one scene each.
Well, for criminally minded people, it's not all about revenge and settling the score. In many situations they're willing to let bygones be bygones. I doubt Avon had much to gain perpetuating a conflict with Marlo. Besides, the end of season 3 basically showed Avon surrendering when he acknowledges Marlo in court.
Not sure how it works in Baltimore, but since they both from the westside of baltimore, they stick together on the inside. Here in the chi, folks stay with folks and people stay with people when they locked up. No matter if their gangs are beefing on the outside. it's only two gangs over here when u locked up. folks and people.
chris and weebey were like the same person almost. both took all the murders for their teams. in jail it's different like that especially when you never coming out again. it's that west side love too. that's why avon gave sergei to marlo so the westside would keep control of the drug game. it's respect mostly despite the past ya kno
Why would anyone who's seen The Wire think this was in Philly? Yeah, all the Baltimore City Police went to Philly to bust a Baltimore City criminal. Fucking idiots.
You can't be fucking serious. lol, Didn't you pay any attention when you watched the show??? Wee-Bay went to hide in Philly after he realizes Kima, whom he shot earlier, was a cop,and that he had to lay low outside of Baltimore for a while. From Wikipedia: "Later, through a combination of the active wiretap and phone records, the police are able to determine Wee-Bey's location and apprehend him in Philadelphia." You can check the HBO site too...
@hoodpolitics actually, D'Angelo gives away Wee-Bey's position. While in jail, D'Angelo breaks and gives his speech about how he wants to breath like normal folk. He gives up Wee-Bey and promises to give up The Barksdale Organization. That is until Brianna showed up.
@hoodpolitics it was actually D'Angelo who told the police in the interrogation room where Wee Bey was...the famous "Ya'll don't get it...my uncles my cousins my father...it's just what we do" speech...D points to Bey and says "he in Philly...cuz I dropped him there"
I won't go as far as calling you a fucking idiot though, even though I could because of your way off assumption. Next time pay attention to the show or check hbo/wikipedia, etc before you start calling people idiots. The irony.
What about the fact that it says Philadelphia on the cop car, and sure a bunch of B more cops would go to philly to catch a varitable serial murderer like wee bey
@sirharrynuggz To add on what hoodpolitics is saying (telling you the facts)...wee bay is a Baltimore criminal, the baltimore police is after him regardless of state line they can continue to pursue so ass long Philly police (and FBI since these are capital murder charges) knew what was going on.
well he didnt know the exact location. they had to put in a lil more work and run a trace from levys office. but agreed, dangelo is the one that put them on to him the first place.
fuck is yall talkin bout, philly got them rowhouses all over, especially in north and south, but you find em scattered throughout the rest of the city too.
If you look it up, philly was actually the 1st u.s. city to incorporate that rowhouse architecture, and other east coast cities drew from us(and that's why baltimore looks so similar)
somebody please explain to me why Freamon (an OLD ASS cop) always has to be the one takin down the hardest killas. so far on the show he's takin down bird, wee bey, and cheese. meanwhile, carver and herc (both young strong cops) choose to beat up on little hoppers instead of catchin the big dogs. shits not right! lol
That looked like one of them cribs that be around south philly/ center city, Baltimore only looks like certain parts of philly like South maybe north...
this wasn't even filmed in philly the just shown a clip from the downtown area, if you look at the row homes they are not philly its some where in baltimore
yeah thought so, they film most of the shit in bmore to keep production costs down even if it says philly in the series. but regardless the story says philly, scene was only like 2 minutes, aint no need to pay extra production and waste time to actually shoot in philly. But good find though. 1
@alexv215 ..On the contrary..Philly and Baltimore row house are very similar in archtecture..U can find homes and whole blocks with the same "look" in a lot of Northeast cities...the give away was the type of strobe lights on the the philly cop cars..Philly never used that type on any crown vics but Baltimore did..
@stevefromPA2 That's so tru I always noticed the PPD Beacons are usually the kind that spin rround on the crown vics and the BPD beacons on the crown vics kind of flash like that
If I was wee-bey and I know I killed a cop I would have moved to Cuba.
