Hey man, I just want to say this video is really well done and I appreciate the feedback and advice you have for people thinking about enlisting. I am one of them.
I f***ed up on the hearing i didnt get that u hit the button once you hear a sound (ive taken hearing test in past they always had 2 buttons) it started out i heard it and it got really lound i started to bang on the door not knwing wtf was going on a i caught after that and did really well if you dont understand something ask. and be clear when u talk i nearly messed up when the guy said have you done the urine test i said no, he took it as i was refusing so be clear and everything will be good
When you get the end and the Classifier pulls up the jobs available to you. Do you know if they are able to pull up both active and reserve jobs at the same time or do you make you choose one or the other before they can show you the list?
@godavidstrong Lets just say i did something really stupid in my freshman year of high school, It's nothing that would disqualify me but me and my senior drill instructor didn't get along well after words.
@TheMerlin117 No, MEPS does not perform a hair test. Just a blood and urine test for drugs and HIV--probably other diseases as well, but I don't know what they are.
@AtomicStarBurst I don't really like to share what unit I'm with publicly online because that essentially gives your location away. But I can at least tell you that I am apart of a transportation movement control team detachment based in Florida. It's an okay unit. But I'd prefer to be in Public Affairs.
ATTENTION NAVY Enlistees, DO NOT take the ASVAB without preparing yourself first. If you WANT a good technical job in the Navy make sure your review math and reading before you take the ASVAB
There are a TON of free ASVAB books at your local library which you may use for FREE.
If you score well (82+) you get to go to the NUCLEAR FIELD which the NAVY has always been DESPERATELY UNDERMANNED, hence you get BONU$E$ and reenlistment $ plus respect and A 3digit pay PROFESSION after your 4 years
@Godavidstrong: i had asthma when i was 12, no reocurrance of it for 4 years, i also have ADD. Some people say its an automatic DQ. Do you know if this is true?
i recently went to meps to take the asvab.....now im getting ready for the physical......i have two questions.....Will the navy grant u a waiver if u have high blood pressure if it is heredity?.......Secondly when u take the blood test what does the navy test for SPECIFICALLY?
@Henry375 Concerning the waiver, that is a question you will have to discuss with your recruiter. But I will tell you that high blood pressure is not hereditary. It about eating and physical health habits that family members carry on from generation to generation. If you have high blood you simply have to begin exercising and eating right. There are no shortcuts. MEPS blood tests are for everyone no matter the branch. They test your blood for drugs and infections.
English is important, but MATH and reasoning skills are very high indicators. Know your Algebra. Linear Equations and Evaluating mathematical expressions are key sections. If you wish to score in the 90's....KNOW YOUR MATH...also look up terms of navigation and map reading skills and legend terms.
im going to be in mepx on friday in charlotte NC any advice on pissing under pressure. i know that may sound rediculous but im 17 and cannot do it. please help!
Yes you do get fingered and you do get your balls squeezed. They are checking for a hernia is what the doc told me. Some guys got fingered. I didnt. Depends on the doc I guess.
I talked to you a while back and you gave me some good advice. I went to meps this wednesday and thrusday (So i finished yesterday). I had a lot of FUN at MEPS. The guys were cool and we were all supporting each other.
The hotel was nice. I almost didn't get in because of my blood pressure but by the grace of God I just made the mark and the doctors gave me time to RELAX and gave me advice on how to get it down a little. They were very nice.
i remember when i whent to meps years ago. the one thing nobody ever tells you is that 99% of the ppl that work at meps are fucking assholes. i guess they have nothing better to do than to treat the ppl that will be vollenteering to serve like shit.
ok theres one specific thing i want to know that no1 talks about...ive heard that during you physical at meps the examiner squeezes your testicles and makes you cough or something or checks for bumps. and also that they stick a finger up your butt is that true?
@andrademeza Absofreakinlutely not. The MEPS physicians aren't allowed to touch you. And believe me they aren't interested in groping hundreds of dudes jewels and dong a hands-on anus examination. Here's the lowdown on this...at least how it went for many of us at Miami MEPS. They tell you to drop your pants, they look from a 7+ ft distance and then say pull'em up. Done. Never did I have to turn around and spread the cheeks. I hope that makes you feel better.
@godavidstrong lol it does...i was not looking forward to spreading the cheeks and i just had to come out and ask it directly cause no1 ever went into deep detail on this...thanks...
@godavidstrong i went to meps last week they had this kid bend over and spread his cheeks lol i got lucky i didnt have to do that....i guess its luck of the draw
MEPS sucked, I've been there 4 times already haha. It's definitely a longgg day, but worth it after you take that oath of enlistment. I had to wait a good 15 minutes to relax and get my blood pressure down a little..
@Videos4USArmy yeah, you're fine. :) also note that having eaten, having a caffeinated beverage or doing any kind of physical exertion prior to taking your blood pressure tends to give an extremely high reading. don't let that scare you. but in your case, this reading mentioned in your comment is fine. relax, you're good. just eat right and exercise. :) Thanks for commenting!

So its just a regular check up. But do the strip you naked, and inspect your balls and crack like in the doctors?
