my fav games other than the snes remakes (wich shouldnt count anyways since theyre just classics being bruaght toa portable audience)... Megaman Battle Network Series, Kingdom Hearts, MegamanZero, Metriod... and that weird (fake) 3D shooter game Aron 3D or some shit cant remember the name.. it was 2D with CGish looking graphics and like 1 power up for ur blaster but had an amazing sound track.. these are the only games that made good use of GBA's limitatons.

@lakersownsuns i think its halerious how one roll and a few burst shots drops the framerate down to like 5 frames per second... eck.. i agree with lakersownsuns i used to own a gba, i buaght a LED light that went in the wire port (for multi play), then got the GBA-SP, and the whole obsession with GBA back in the day was 1- portable SNES (so many snes remakes on it not funny barely no original content) DKC1-2-3, Mario Advanced2, Super Mario World(Advanced)etc. 2- New Metriod Game wich sold lots

The appeal of the GBA was as a nostalgic 16-bit style console in a time when the obsession with 3D graphics was ruling the roost on the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube.

Unfortunately, games like this showed that there was still a unhealthy obsession with 3D which spilled over to the GBA and caused catastrophic messes like this one.

If only they'd done it like Splinter Cell on the GBA, now THAT was a good game...

I think it looks really good for GBA. Also keep in mind that you're viewing this in a windows much larger than the actual GBA screen. so it does actually look a lot better when you play it ;)

Wow, to be able to create a fully 3D environment on tech from the GBA is an incredible acheivement. For those of you rating down, think about how hard it would have been to create a game like this in the age of the SNES (and related tech). How many games had were 3D back then?

You can always go even further back, though. The Dodge & Cover gameplay always reminds me of the arcade game Cabal. Even the crappy Shinobi game for the NES has some emphasis on taking cover. Rolling Thunder (arcade) is another example. Even Space Invaders!

That said, I also hate when people give Gears of War so much credit. It did have a great cover system though.

They need to make a new version on the ds, with the dual screen controls. it amazes me that being the Ds is able to do first person shooters and third parson shooters, that not many developers step to the plate on that. on the gba theres a whole lot of first person shooters and even third person shooters.

Just play Brothers in Arms DS. It got the same "Cover&Shoot" as the Kill Switch/Gears of War. It's really good and the stylus uses is really smooth.

wrong..you can do whatever the programmer decided that you can do..we says 2.5d when a FLAT PLANE-SPRITE-IMAGE have a Z BUFFER(a depth..)..and you're wrong als with CRAZY TAXI !!! :-P cause the CARS/CHARACTERS/OBJECT of the game are 2.5D SPRITES :-P
