Am I the only one who finds it annoying and strange that Ash/Satoshi has trained for years and Pikachu seems to be no stronger than it was when the show first began? I mean come on' he learned a few new moves but he has a hard time battling many new trainers and he's used Pikachu more than anyone. And that freakin' Garchop shouldn't be that strong, Paul used mega drain; shouldn't it be tired? (Confused)

Actually Garchomp did get tired. Because it got one knee after Torrtera used mega drain but I think it still has a lot af health.

True, I just think that these so called 'elite' trainers (whatever you call them) shouldn't be so powerful. I mean one time Ash battled a Articuno with his Charizard and won. How does a normal pokemon defeat something so powerful like that? I just think the writers need to mix it up and have Paul at least win once to show that she isn't impossible to defeat. Sorry for ranting :p

I wouldn't say that, technically ash has been training for just 2-3 years at this point, compared to ppl like cynthia that should be a very short time. And also just cuz u train longer doesn't always = stronger, or else Bertha and Agatha would pwn everyone. Ash does have his main character advantage, so he's expected to be better, but I actually like it that they gave ash a pretty low profile, it's more realistic. I have a thing against overpowered MC's =P

you said that cynthia's garchomp should be tired from the giga drain, but your forgetting a few things.

one yes, while garchomp is a ground type who are weak against grass naturally,it is also a dragon type, which are resistant to grass types, thus doing neutral damage to it.

and yeah, even though her garchomp took a crap load of attacks, you need to remember that cynthia is the strongest trainer in the region.

A sound observation; however, there is still not enough evidence to conclude that. If it were in fact shiny, they probably would have added more emphasized sparkles/luster upon entrance. If you compare them to those of Chimchar's entrance, for example, they look the exact same. Not only that, but it wouldn't have matched the photo on Ash's dex either (which it did). Soooo ya, I doubt it's shiny.
