It is actually a 747-400SR. A custom made 747 for JAL used on short domestic flights in Japan. ANA uses them as well

I think its a 300 because of the engines. SR's have new engines and these are old pratt and whitney engines. (I think)

By the way the 747-400 is called 747-400D (D = Domestic) ;-)

Fantastic capture! This plane is awesome - so perfect! I believe it is a 300, as it has a larger upper deck than the 200 and no winglets like a 400.
