@ndzoko Well since Jesus rose from the dead, why couldn't He have raised others as well? I have no proof for or against it, so I'll have to take the word of the historical source that said it happened. All I know for sure is that I have experienced great changes in my life after coming to faith in Christ, and that His central message of unconditional love is greater than any other message I've heard in this world. That's all I have to say, but I am glad we could have a civil discussion.
@StLouisBlues2008 No sir, this didn`t happen. There are many reasons why this didn`t happen. Neither did the resurrection of Christ. There are no historical sources giving evidence for this event. And your experiencing great changes after coming to christ, is in no way different from people coming to Allah or to Buddha. He was a king, and still is. But he was a humble king, down off His eternal throne. He did miracles on the sabbath, for He is God, who works in ways we can yet to understand. You read the bible. Actually read it, all of it. And tell me Jesus doesnt fulfill all Messianic prophecies

Why do you think the jews(very versed in scriptures) reading all those (so called ) prophecies, did not acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah ? @ndzoko I have read it...the context is that a perfect, holy God can't just tolerate people willfully rebelling against Him forever, and so we deserve death ultimately. But Jesus, the historical figure for whom there is more evidence than almost any other historical figure (ask most historians) died so that people who have done that stuff can be forgiven. Also, read the book of Isaiah (especially chapter 53) and tell me Jesus doesn't fulfill that.
@StLouisBlues2008 Do you agree that all those petty trangressors enumerated below deserve the death penalty !! Jesus did not fulfill ANY prophecies. That``s why the jews did not accept him. Your suggestion that the jews expected a liberator from the Romans is just speculation,(not based on any evidence or writings) invented to justify why they rejected Jesus. The prophecy of Isaiah is the first reason why he does not fulfill the prophecies.

And it doesn't matter what I believe they deserve, I'm not the perfect creator of the universe. There is soooooo much evidents if you actually look and study. If the bible is true, because the bible sayd it`s true, than all other holy books have the same validity. There are numerous contradictions. Just tell me, how come the bible constains morals and values, that are NOT UNIVERSAL. Does gods ideas about good and evil change according to time and place ?
@ndzoko And also, there is evidence for Jesus rising from the dead...normal people just don't do that. If someone stole Christ's body from the tomb, the Roman guards would have been executed according to their law, and a few broken up disciples with no military training wouldn't have been able to move Him. And if His body was still in the tomb, the Jews would have shown it to everyone who believed in the resurrection. Therefore, we can't explain away the resurrection as a hoax.

@ndzoko I've already said why I can't explain away the resurrection, but you can also look to the lives of Jesus' original disciples. They were completely distraught and afraid for their lives in the couple days following the crucifixion, but then they were transformed so almost all of them ultimately died painful deaths for preaching about the resurrection. Why would they do this for a lie? For more evidence, the books "The Case for Christ" and "More than a Carpenter" are good sources.
@StLouisBlues2008 You have no evidence for this transformation in the apostles. NONE And their martyrdom(except for one) is almost certain pure fantasy. Those stories about their martyr-death were written about 3 centuries after the (supposed)facts by a bishop Eusebius. Even Christian apologetics sites state, that this reports about the death of the apostles have to be taken with a pinch of salt. The case for Christ(which I read about 8 months ago) contains nothing convincing for me.
@ndzoko Also, the Jewish leaders expected the Messiah to be a military leader that would physically save them from the hands of their enemies. They couldn't accept the fact that Jesus was a spiritual leader, hence their opposition to His teachings. Usually when a group of people is out to kill someone who is not inciting violence (Jesus), they are insecure in their beliefs...if the Pharisees really believed Jesus was full of it, they wouldn't have been out to kill him.

I think, many people are confused about WHY God sends people to hell. What they don't realise is that God doesnt send people to Hell. They send themselves there. Thanks to God, we are free to do as we please, He gave us the choice to believe or not. If He had not given that freedom, we would all be like puppets.
People who say God is unfair are correct. God is unfair. He's unfair because if he was fair, we would all be at the mercy of his fury because how ugly with sin we are. However God loves us so much he's willing to be UNFAIR to allow us to get to know him and change our ways. If you think you're going to get anywhere in life without God then you're in for a surprise. Amen this is absolutely correct. How Jesus makes the comparison of murder to calling your neighbor 'raca' WHICH MEANS FOOL or how JESUS compares adultery to Lust. @meatboyz They do in fact have what they believe is ground. Also, thinking relatively is a personal perception. To you it may be god 24/7, but to others it is what they're dealing with over it. I found god, I know he's real, but I choose to reject him. Therefore, you can't pull that on me.

Announce that Christ loves them and the Good News and, if they listen to him then Glory to God and if they don't, then Glory to God too. @ndzoko Proverbs 20:20 God commands us to love our parents and listen to them and respect them because it was part of His plan to glorify Himself. I'd keep going to all the verses but I hope that you are starting to see that God does not command death or a short life to these people just because he wants them dead, he orders it because he hates sin, and that was how he decided to deal with sin. He has not changed but now he gave His Son to take our place and save us and offers us grace...

@ndzoko ...so that we can be saved by Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross. Christ died for all sins those before and after His death. But the point is so that we would love God, and glorify Him. Saying that he is evil is like saying he is a bad Father because he told you not to play in the street and then you did, and because you got hit by a car you blame Him. He told you not to do it, he warned you of the consequences, then those people did it anyways instead of trusting Him

@ndzoko Well since Jesus rose from the dead, why couldn't He have raised others as well? I have no proof for or against it, so I'll have to take the word of the historical source that said it happened. All I know for sure is that I have experienced great changes in my life after coming to faith in Christ, and that His central message of unconditional love is greater than any other message I've heard in this world. That's all I have to say, but I am glad we could have a civil discussion.

@ndzoko I have read it...the context is that a perfect, holy God can't just tolerate people willfully rebelling against Him forever, and so we deserve death ultimately. But Jesus, the historical figure for whom there is more evidence than almost any other historical figure (ask most historians) died so that people who have done that stuff can be forgiven. Also, read the book of Isaiah (especially chapter 53) and tell me Jesus doesn't fulfill that.

@ndzoko And also, there is evidence for Jesus rising from the dead...normal people just don't do that. If someone stole Christ's body from the tomb, the Roman guards would have been executed according to their law, and a few broken up disciples with no military training wouldn't have been able to move Him. And if His body was still in the tomb, the Jews would have shown it to everyone who believed in the resurrection. Therefore, we can't explain away the resurrection as a hoax.

@ndzoko I've already said why I can't explain away the resurrection, but you can also look to the lives of Jesus' original disciples. They were completely distraught and afraid for their lives in the couple days following the crucifixion, but then they were transformed so almost all of them ultimately died painful deaths for preaching about the resurrection. Why would they do this for a lie? For more evidence, the books "The Case for Christ" and "More than a Carpenter" are good sources.

Those stories about their martyr-death were written about 3 centuries after the (supposed)facts by a bishop Eusebius. Even Christian apologetics sites state, that this reports about the death of the apostles have to be taken with a pinch of salt. The case for Christ(which I read about 8 months ago) contains nothing convincing for me.

@ndzoko Also, the Jewish leaders expected the Messiah to be a military leader that would physically save them from the hands of their enemies. They couldn't accept the fact that Jesus was a spiritual leader, hence their opposition to His teachings. Usually when a group of people is out to kill someone who is not inciting violence (Jesus), they are insecure in their beliefs...if the Pharisees really believed Jesus was full of it, they wouldn't have been out to kill him.

He was an atheist, but he became a Christian after his research. After what he found, he said, "It would actually take more faith for me to remain an atheist."

I speak from proof, from experiencing the reality of God's existence through His presence. But the greatest proof of all is that I have a devotion and faith to God that I can not let go of. I didn't instill it in me. My family didn't either. When I believed, repented, and called out to Jesus to save me, His Holy Spirit became a permanent part of my soul. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't stop following God. Nothing can separate me from the Spirit & love of God that is in Christ Jesus- proof.

Although, if the truth of the Gospel is presented, God could change his heart at any time, just keep him in your prayers every day! Announce that Christ loves them and the Good News and, if they listen to him then Glory to God and if they don't, then Glory to God too. His word will not go back until it has done what it was sent to do.

@ndzoko the Word of God is Christ. he who came to die on the cross for the SINNERS (all you listed and more) not because he hated them (would you die one of the most horrible deaths for people you despised if you had the choice) but because he loved them so much. God LOVES the human race more than anything ever in existence, he just hates the sin they commit. the only sin God cannot and will not forgive is blasphemy of the holy spirit (to live a life and die opposed to God) at which point....

@ndzoko God DOESN'T want those people killed, they are his created beings. understand that a judge convicting his son of serial murder sentencing him to death doesn't want to but is upholding the law. God is a God of justice as well and blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is a sin he will not pardon. i am sure as he condemns these people to hell, along with his righteousness wrath is also great sadness. i told you, God came to earth and died so that the option is open for salvation.

Exodus 22:18 Sorceresses, those who have sexual relations to animals or sacrifice to another God, they have commited sins so disgusting, and God orders them to be killed lest someone think those acts are acceptable. Leviticus 20:13, again God will not tolerate such evil as the act of homosexual intercourse. He gave the law so His people would Love Him, not sin.

@ndzoko Proverbs 20:20 God commands us to love our parents and listen to them and respect them because it was part of His plan to glorify Himself. I'd keep going to all the verses but I hope that you are starting to see that God does not command death or a short life to these people just because he wants them dead, he orders it because he hates sin, and that was how he decided to deal with sin. He has not changed but now he gave His Son to take our place and save us and offers us grace...

@ndzoko ...so that we can be saved by Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross. Christ died for all sins those before and after His death. But the point is so that we would love God, and glorify Him. Saying that he is evil is like saying he is a bad Father because he told you not to play in the street and then you did, and because you got hit by a car you blame Him. He told you not to do it, he warned you of the consequences, then those people did it anyways instead of trusting Him

@ndzoko God is a just God.If a murder was on trial, he must pronounce them guilty in order to be just, no matter how much good the murderer has done.Unless of course,God, infinite in grace and mercy, as the judge and one who has been sinned against,offers that murderer salvation.If the murder accepts it,and repents he can be aquited(by the blood of Christ) but if the murderer refuse Salvation,God's free gift of mercy, and would rather accept his sentece of death, well don't blame God for that

Check Isaiah 55:8-9.That's just it, it's His way, not our way.His Son had to die even though he was perfect So he could save us.All who don't believe in Him are His opponents, because whether you worship an idol or yourself, you are not giving glory to God.He could of just destroyed us all but in infinite grace he offers us eternal life when we ALL deserve Hell, that seems pretty gracious to me
