Hey thank you for all your videos I will be posting soon if Theres anything left to post LOL but I was wondering is there a reason to take the rings off of the jars after the Canning process is done? Can you leave the rings on or is there a particular need to take the rings off, also was wondering how you liked those reusable lids that you purchased?
@SJPrepper0569 The rings will rust over time and will make it difficult to get your jars open. I love the tattler lids and just purchased another 200. Blessings!
Watch Mistyshooter 223 soap video. I used it and it was the most easiest soap I have ever made. Works great I even wash my hair with it! Also on the beans, I soak them and then put a clove of garlic and a teaspoon of canning salt in each quart jar and pressure can them. I have also put ham chunks in them too. Works out good, and I have done this with 15 beans too. Makes a quick hardy meal with cornbread.
@gingergargoyle correct I have never found bubbles to be an issue with beans unless you pack them in the jar tight. I just pour in loosely. Blessings!
I have canned beans twice - once with the quick method and 30 minutes cooked, the second time with the overnight soak and no cooking. Both times the beans were mush. Someone suggested the use of pickle fresh to keep them more crisp. I want to be able to use them in a bean salad, not only for chili so I'm wondering if you have any suggestions.
@MiriamKearney I think it depends on the beans. The ones I made in the video were perfect for salads. That was the main reason I did them my kids don't particularly care for beans in chili. Have you tried not cooking them at all Auntduddie does them that way. /watch?v=5ACnbpiH3LE Blessings!
Love your video. I do my beans raw pack method. 1/4 c beans to a pint. Fill with water and pressure can. The downside to my method is the beans need to be rinsed off before putting in any meal. Otherwise too gassy.
It your canner the one that will do 14 quarts at a time? We want to get one but are unsure on how it will fit On the stove. I just did beans last night black, northern, and kidney. I put 1 cup dry beans per quart(washed tho) and fill with water to 1 inch headspace and it worked perfect. Process 90 min.
hahahaha Thank you so much for putting the camera down before I get dizzy. So many video makers don't realize that and I want to watch their videos, but I don't because they make me dizzy!
I need step by step instructions on video. I guess Im a bigger dummy than I thought. I worked on missle guidance systems in the military and yet canning seems to be more like rocket science to me. I bought one book and it was too complicated to use so I bought another one that claimed to be simple and it's not. I think Im just going to buy my stuff already canned.
@mobiltec don't give up you will get it, just takes practice. Try canning water then you'll start to understand how it works without wasting anything. Blessings!
In turn my seals in opposing directions when I heat them too! The only thing I do differently is I put a nice chunk of onion in the bottom of my jar along with a clove of garlic. Nice job.
Great vid.....I forgot that you could not water bath beans! Great idea for chili...cant wait for part 2 and to vid on the corned beef. Enjoy your weekend!
@drduncan74 Thank you I did enjoy except for all the hard work. Forgot to bring my camera so didn't get to do a video on my solar cooker. Maybe next time!

I noticed you didn't release the air bubbles, is this not usually an issue with wet beans?

@shimshonrules Pretty much but if beans are dried you would process them for twice the amount of time that you would do green beans. Blessings!

@katzcradul That's a great suggestion will also save you from having to store more garlic elsewhere in your food storage.
