I don't know, I like Evanescence and Ben Moody with equal fervor and it's sad that they split, but in a way, I can understand. This really goes with the Goth scene, is the whole goth scene popular still? I don't really know, it was popular when I was in high school when Hot Topic and Matrix 2 came out, but after that, I think there's only so much one can write before your path is too narrow.
I like Ben's voice but we'll just have to see what Amy comes up with in October; see how she changed...

Honestly? I really don't care who was "right" and who was "wrong". I like Amy Lee AND Ben Moody. Some of the things I hear Ben Moody say in interviews piss me off ("Now I have real friends"? That was rude and uncalled for.) but sometimes Amy Lee's interviews piss me off too. From what I've observed, she likes to be the center of attention a little too much. But again, I like both musicians very much, and I find it rather sad that they are no longer friends.
I agree I think they are better off without each other. I think Ben pulled Amy down, and she even says she is happier now which is the only thing that matters. I just wish he wouldn't say the negative things he says when that old situation comes up.

i think evanescence benefited a lot from his input and guitar playing when they started and he does have a good presence on stage, but after fallen i think he was definitely holding her back and agree that evanescence is better off for him leaving. he has turned into a jerk since since fallen. amy has such a great stage presence about her and i'd like to see what's in store for the next evanescence album.

@Riotmix yerr TOD was a much better album because i know this for a fact. If you listen to all the songs on FALLEN all the guitar riffs and chords are the same i know this cause i play guitar. TOD could of surpassed fallen's 17 million units sold only if the band didn't fall out in mid 07 cause by that time the album has already sold 4million world wide in only 7 months. Then by the end of 07 they took a break then by 08 no one heard of Evanescence thats why TOD sold less than the FALLEN album

Evanescence IS Ben Moody and Amy Lee not Amyescence as she is the only original band member now. The Open Door is mellower than Fallen but you need that Metal edge to keep your fans. Terry is a bore on stage and in intervviews and he isn't that great of a songwriter in my opinion. If Evanescence will survive they need to bring Ben back. End of Story!
Ben Moody is good and all but I think he and Amy are better off on their own. Fallen was good with them collaborating, but I personally think that the Open Door is way way better and that Terry is a better writing partner for Amy. They're both happier anyways

I actually kinda like Evanescence without Ben. I think that The Open Door is 10000 times better than Fallen, but thats not to say that the old band was terrible its just that I like the sound and the music with the new album and band better. Ben is a great artist and he and Amy together did a wonderful job with Fallen.

Ben/Amy both very talented and they are best when together...Ben is more into writing and making songs to please general audiences to win more grammies, Amy is more into just writing making music that she loves.

No, Evanescence is not heavy when they put tracks like "Good Enough" on their albums. The first single was released a YEAR before the album was even released, no wonder it hasn't charted well. It did chart well for a song released over a year ago, however. i think evanescence benefited a lot from his input and guitar playing when they started and he does have a good presence on stage, but after fallen i think he was definitely holding her back and agree that evanescence is better off for him leaving. he has turned into a jerk since since fallen. amy has such a great stage presence about her and i'd like to see what's in store for the next evanescence album.

@Riotmix yerr TOD was a much better album because i know this for a fact. If you listen to all the songs on FALLEN all the guitar riffs and chords are the same i know this cause i play guitar. TOD could of surpassed fallen's 17 million units sold only if the band didn't fall out in mid 07 cause by that time the album has already sold 4million world wide in only 7 months. Then by the end of 07 they took a break then by 08 no one heard of Evanescence thats why TOD sold less than the FALLEN album

Evanescence IS Ben Moody and Amy Lee not Amyescence as she is the only original band member now. The Open Door is mellower than Fallen but you need that Metal edge to keep your fans. Terry is a bore on stage and in intervviews and he isn't that great of a songwriter in my opinion. If Evanescence will survive they need to bring Ben back. End of Story!

Ben Moody is good and all but I think he and Amy are better off on their own. Fallen was good with them collaborating, but I personally think that the Open Door is way way better and that Terry is a better writing partner for Amy. They're both happier anyways

Before, like fallen, the songs were minaly chords. The most personal thing on the record was my immortal, which AMY took and renovated because the original was JUST CHORDs like most oof his songs, i'm not saying he's a bad song writer, it's just that all those songs shouldn't be put on one record. I regret not getting the open door now. It had a lot more variety.

I actually kinda like Evanescence without Ben. I think that The Open Door is 10000 times better than Fallen, but thats not to say that the old band was terrible its just that I like the sound and the music with the new album and band better. Ben is a great artist and he and Amy together did a wonderful job with Fallen.
Now I think I'll check out some of his solo stuff.

my opinion:
Ben/Amy both very talented and they are best when together...Ben is more into writing and making songs to please general audiences to win more grammies, Amy is more into just writing making music that she loves.
You can clearly see the difference between the two album, Fallen is more the general audience, Open door is more personal, not everyone can relate or will enjoyed it.
