Thanks discharge for coming to Finland!

  • DISCHARGE AND GBH *_*

  • This gives me chills

  • hahaha they got so off time

  • @ScottTaysom Scott, timing is not the only thing that got off. If you know what I mean. Best video.

  • The second wave of punk or 1982 movement, call it what you will, Discharge were part of a big scene in the early 80's. Have a look at the suggestions on songs from similar bands, some of these tracks are still fresh 30 years on. The Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing album was intense and it is easy to see (hear?) the influence on early Metallica material and no wonder they name check and cover Discharge.

  • @mindwarp666

Metallica nicked some songs off Tez Bones, in the early 80's, he's looking into legalities about getting some royalties back off them

  • @funeasy06 Been up Hope Street Hanley today and couldn't remember which one was Mike Stones shop.....! Theres loads boarded up there, can any of the lads tell us which shop it was ???

  • @DOTTYROSETORUNSKI No idea but it went bump years ago, sad times when that went.

  • kings of d-beat

  • jaysus they played dublin to a smaller crowd but at 49 dont know how i got out alive

  • fuck, if you dont know what D-beat is damn i would personally break your 2 front teeth with a hammer..

i was going to see them play last year they wore going to come to the us but things got fucked up which ended up fucking me in ass..fuck it i plan on going to the uk anyways..

    someday<3

  • @hellofuckitty "If you dont know what D-beat is" : What, is there an internet quiz now to get a Punk Rock membership card?

  • @iiijg77

ha nopes just know your shit, basically

  • LMFAO

  • At one time I had this whole show on VHS. I'm thinking one of my so called friends has it and now that friend had to die!

  • Simply the BEST ...alap

  • this other guitarist is rly suckish. vid is still sick.

  • I knew Rainy back in the late 70s, but not sure I remember seeing Discharge, even though I probably did...I think I saw contemporaries Dead Katz, certainly shared a few pints with 'em. down at El Syds in Newcastle u Lyme. Time someone wrote the definitive rock, pop and folk history of Stoke/North Staffordshire music scene.

  • Takes me back!Cheers to all you ol'punks and skinner's.

  • Good to know that even the greats just F it all up sometimes, like the rest of us.

  • Its Funny How He Does A Little Chicken Dance In The Beginning

  • i love discharge, but we played a gig wiv em and they wouldn"t talk to us.........fucking popstars

  • They're all over the place after the solo, I can see why this was never released unlike the GBH set from the same gig....... Wish Discharge had rehearsed properly for this woulda been amazing........ Still ace to see I guess.

  • @BoycottStabb sometimes its hard for bands to hear eachother instruments one can only think a low buget punk show must have had some really shity equipment on stage if you haev ever been to alot of shows yo ucan see band members trying to hear eachother and getting thrown off

  • @histatimaniples This aint a low budget gig... I hear what your saying tho man, sound on stage can be all over the place. But this was a big gig, the GBH set from the same night is perfect too.... I'm sorry but it either got to them, or they weren't rehearsed enough, just a shame, cus I love Discharge........... It's kinda like calling one of those Goldenvoice concerts from the 80's a backyard show, this stuff was huge in the cities, hundreds went to gigs like this regularly in the UK......

  • @BoycottStabb i just saw gbh at the fonda in hollywood in june sound was horrible jock and ross kept looking at eachother but yea well maybe its because this is the time bones left and pooch joined but they could be all druged up lol

  • @histatimaniples I think you may have nailed it! lol Still great to see.

  • @BoycottStabb yes great to see cal on stage ge nailed it! hardcore at its best

  • Excellent video!

  • jesus christ thats taken me back 27 years,i saw them at Longton town hall along with a load of other punk groups, one was The Veins.Cheers for the blast i remember going home covered in gob what a pisser !!

  • la hostia te amo dbeat

  • great band!

  • DIS OR DIE

  • love the guitar solo!! this is like rodneys band in only fools and horses! remeber now how bad follow on punk was after the pistols. Utter rubbish but good fun.

  • FUCK ME, I remember that, I used to be on the stage crew at the vicky hall in Hanley, we HATED punks and punk gigs, everyfucking thing was covered in GOB at the end of the show, used to have to wear gloves to handle their gear,

  • Still got poster for Discharge,at a church hall in Hanley (Stoke on Trent) from Jan 11th 1980..Admission £1.00 100 Punks bouncing off the walls, still got the scars..Brilliant night. They also did the same venue a year before with a different singer, they were more like a Pistols outfit in the early days.

  • sweet. do you remember what songs they played?

  • i got there discography and there playing bristol soon, im so goin :P

  • for me these guys are my fav punk band

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • "you are idiot" wow genius and I'm the idiot.

    fucken virgin.

  • ever heard the "good old "Discharge from 1982?

  • yep....saw em loads late 70's early 80's...the vine hanley-el sids 'castle-vicky hall- tunstall town hall

  • cal was the first person to swing the mike like that

  • Roger Daltrey (The Who) was swinging the mic like a mad man in the 60s, and he probably wasn't the first either.

  • Fuck I never spotted that until you mentioned it!

  • great vocals for hardcore I like it. Barney from Napalm Death was wearing a Discharge shirt so I checked it out. This song kicks ass

  • Comment removed

  • you are idiot

  • Comment removed

  • I'm agree, never again. This crazy life or whatever they are talking about. Félicitations.

  • @ramonescunt i WAS THERE TOO MATE!!

  • de las mejores bandas discharge

  • the greatest european hardcore band

They completely fucked the song up but they are still amazing

  • didnt they make the song?

  • I missed them when they played in Sweden 1984, so I had to kill myself. I´m writing this from Valhalla.

  • best u tube comment in quite sometime

  • zoomflesh!

    ´anx ´lot !

  • Pure gold.

  • This is when Discharge was good! They are still pretty cool with Rat on vocals though. When Bones left the band they really sucked!

  • its funny you say that! the more i see was after bones but bones loves to play that song

  • awsome band before 83. to bad genocide did happen again.

  • lol

  • this band is so underrated its not even funny.

  • The band messed up towards the end they were way off beat!

  • ...

    its discarge you dumbass

  • fucking scence faggot stfu and listen to your poser casualties.

  • it depends on what you classify as hardcore, if its fast as fuck repetative kick in the teeth music then discharge are more hardcore, if its testostirone fueld heavy ass fuck you music then black flag are more hardcore, but who cares anyway they are both amazing and negative fx are more hardcore then both of them put together anyway! haha

  • This wouldn't be hardcore in my opinion, It's hardcore punk, or street punk. Punk with a louder, fatter sound, with slower bits and some metal riffs. The later Exploited songs are a perfect example. But then again, It's all punk, right?

  • sweden has the perfekt word for it, kängpunk

  • discharge fathers of d beat

  • @tefanyenlaluna

u mean creators of discharge beat?

  • @tefanyenlaluna ehh i'd say they're more like thrashy punk, plus i dont think d beat was made back then, or was it?

  • @wertopl

Are you fucking serious? Where do you think the "D" of D-Beat comes from. Please learn your musical history a bit son.

  • @coalhalo Well we have to have some anal sex first, and sorry I dont know anything about D-beat, thats just a fact that I did not know

  • yes continue anal is beter for u then we save the planet and never kids are fuck by parents like u i hope u like that the chit stay in take care

  • sex

  • hard porn ! hardcore

  • discharge is a bunch of fucking gods

and don't compare black flag and discharge

both are masters at the genre they play

but it's like apples and oranges

they're both tangy and sweet but different

  • ditto.

  • @coliahthefiend

    you are so right.

if they dont get it..its not worth explainin.

let them wallow in stupidity..comparing discharge to black flag..tsk

  • Pooch fucked it all up, the fuckin' poofter!

  • Bring it back, now is the time

  • love this song

  • from 1:35 they got really lost:) that's old school!:D

  • i have been a fan of discharge since 1980 and can tell you black flag was not an influence for them...they were innovators and started in 1977 and besides they were from birmingham england when would they have heard black flag in 1977...

  • this is true thats just when black flag was starting. this is the first time i hear this band

  • well said black flag is total crap compared to Discharge.. for sure no inluence on anyone relevant in punk/anarcho ever...

  • no way, don't even bother comparing the two

I like them both, and there's nothing wrong with that.

  • Whilst I doubt Black Flag influenced Discharge they were not from Birmingham, they were from Stoke-on-Trent, and Black Flag formed around 1977 and released their first EP in 1978, before Discharge.

  • discharge has a demo from 77',i have it,its not that great of recording, but its still badass if ur into discharge.

  • Its not the same discharge.

  • this discharge line up was the shit!!!

  • that was fucking awesome

  • the train wreck at the end is so awesome hahaha

  • am i the only one that actually listens to discharge for their lyrics and not the extremeness of it?

  • lyrics are simple but to the point no sugar coating! fucking great ! the nightmare continues!

  • THIS IS HARDCORE not shitty d-beat, get over yourselves you cliche high contrasting noisy bastards

  • exactly, Discharge was the start of hardcore, not Black Flag etc...

  • not really you can hear the black flag influence on discharge i love them both but black flag had a ablum out in 1977 can you really say they didnt start? it first they were labeled hardcore before anyone

  • nah they weren't influenced by us hardcore at really. they were more 77 punk but came out with their own sound. like look at 80's uk bands that were influenced by us hc like the stupids, ripcord or ays do they sound like this no they dont

  • i've seen bones were black flag shirts in old 80's shows maybe with tez was singing for the band they had that 77 influence sound but when they became hardcore they had a lot of US influence

  • well in books an interviews they never cite black flag as an influence. i see more motorhead to be honest than black flag. there is a slight resemblense of the riff in religion instigates but bones said he doesn't listen to music. drunk with power does not sound at all like drunk with power!!! discharge formed in 77. i don't see it man sorry.

  • yes dischcarge did start in 77 but have you heard that stuff with tez as the singer? horrible! i've read somewhere stating that rainy said motorheard ripped them off idk if that was sarcasm. when i meant drunk with power sounded like fix me i meant the chorus riff of drunk with power sounded like black flags fix me riff plus how can you say there not when bones started broken bones trying to sound like american hardcore/thrash

look around you'll find the video of bones wearing blackflag t shirt

  • im not really a fan of broken bones so i cant comment on that but they just dont sound influenced by black flag take a band that clearly is like bl'ast! and compare em to this different. discharge had other influences im afraid however if you said the germs or other 77 american bands.

  • alright drunk with power sounds like fix me

fight back sounds like i've had it but played faster have you ever heard black flag? listen to religion instigates and then listen to wasted from black flag! come on!

  • no, discharge came out with 3 eps' in 1980. you listen to nervous breakdown record (1978), and all those songs are pretty simple and slow punk. jealous again came out in 1980.

  • @histatimaniples Black Flag had NO album out in 77 what are you talking about...?

  • @frontroomautos i meant 7inch

  • fuckin memories...i was at this gig...travelled from manchester where i normally frequented the mayflower club where i saw countless punk bands discharge varukers antipasti chron gen vice squad and of course exploited and loads more...great days very very great days...

  • never!! never!! never again!!

  • muito bom

  • d beat?

  • Discharge started punk all over again and so hardcore was born.

  • whoa fuckin drunk ass guitarist fuck was too drunk to play the song correctly< BUT!! it was still tremendous. They are all live long fuckin' goodness in my ears and in many other's ears. ANd that's what happens when you dirnk too much Faxe beer!!! It is the story to Dishcarge love!

  • There was alot of pissed off people in Stoke on Trent in 1983. Anyone know why? (rhetorical question!)

  • This is fantastic.

  • Amazing!

  • hahahaha the confusion towards the end was great

  • I`m old now, but when I listen to this, I feel young again.

  • No contest. Discharge piss on everyone. I can prove it on a fucking etch-a-sketch.Anyone argues with that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt they know fuck all!!

  • 1.this gig was filmed from 3 angles...this is the camera from the back of the venue and is not shown so often on youtube.

    2. Discharge manage to keep it together for 1 minute and 42 seconds...then spectacularly fuck it all up....and so it went on throughout the whole gig...Cal even sings the wrong lyrics to some songs...must be because they are so complicated and hard to remember !

Even though this was still only 83 Bones had gone and the rot was on it's way.....and the Rat too !

  • HAHAHA - priceless .... but yeah Discharge was one of my favored bands in the early 80's

  • Wow! Thanks for putting this up takes me back to 14 years old again.

  • Discharge kicks fucking ass!!!!!!!!!!

  • Never, Never, Never Again!

  • Live In Nottingham...

  • BEST SONG!

  • Fuck yeah!

  • Sounds about right, not like that shite "(Live) Japan 1991"
