  • cowashing helps alot! moisturize your hair daily! wrap your hair every night and also don't give up my hair is the same length as yours and at this stage it is going to be dry sometimes.its going to get better as it gets longer too.

  • lmao i seen u on world star going ape shit about ur naptural hair? so are u still on the journey or did u really give up?

  • @Tayl0rGangBarbie Im still on it ! lol

  • Yes lol I saw you too! Hilarious! Dont give up.. I just think you need to have more patience and learn about your hair. You have nice texture

  • lmao i seen u on world star going ape shit about ur naptural hair? so are u still on the journey or did u really give up?

  • hey lady. u r 2 funny! my hair is just like urs, weak spot and all and i get so upset sometimes with my hair but I keep pushin'. check out my 2 videos, u can tell I'm new at this and my daughter has to keep stickin her face and the dogs in my mix(can't complain she is doin' the taping). Anyway......I just started using glycerine and shea butter to lock in moisture, I'll let u know how that works. I have more products than hair, go figure that $h%t out. Later......Peace!

  • Potty mouth :0

  • Girl you got me rolling!!!!

  • Drawstring headwrap I like those types because it doesn't put tension in one area and you can adjust the tightness to your liking Hope this helps!

  • besides drinking more water Wigs can stunt hair growth I love wigs myself but I won't put one on daily because they will stunt it.......try diff styles twists etc and try not to bother it every day besides moisturizing.....a good style is two strand twists leave those in a few days remove wash condition and rock a fro for a few days...give your hair some time to do what it does best grow on its own without being tugged, stuffed, teased, or pulled...Oh and if you dont have one get a satin

  • @DarkestChoclet Thanks for the info !

  • @HIMAY10NENCE np Honey :)

  • The oil is used as a sealer to lock in the moisture. First use moisterizer(I keep seeing others use Scurl, a good leave in conditioner), then the oils (shea butter, olive, coconut, jojoba). In that order and you should see great results! But it looks nice and soft to me :)

  • why do you cure so much?

  • @MsRouge2000 Cure what ?

  • I had a beautician tell me I had a weak spot too. My hair would be short at the top after EVERY sew-in that THEY did. Once I started taking care of my own hair...no more breakage/brittleness. AfricanExport, Kimmaytube, Rusticbeauty, Sera2544, KinkyKurlyQueen, LeobodyC5, cynthiarf‬‎, beautifulbrwnbabydol, longhairdontcare, FreeWorshipFreeWors, kabrinam, and others have mastered their regimens & have great hair and advice. Prettydimples has pretty style tutorials. I hope this helps.

  • @jas4xj I know u aint liening cause my WEAK SPOT IS N DA MIDDLE OF MY HEAD !!!!!! thanx for watchin

  • your hair appears to be a 4a there is no reason why your hair isnt growing its not that nappy. Your obviously doing something wrong. Maybe you should stop dying your hair.

  • no wonder your mad at natural hair girls you look a bald headed mess

  • @rosiepum baldheaded yes .... No baby never a mess.

  • @HIMAY10NENCE pow!

  • @rosiepum LMAO,I was like DAMN WTF!

  • t you look 4a-and alil 4b. You can try henna to loosen the curl pattern temporary. BTW <3 the hair color.

  • check out kimmaytube; she teaches about shedding, breakage, moisturizing, all that good stuff. your hair actually looks soft but yeah anyway check her out...she does have other stuff on her channel but she is real.... I think......

  • i had dry hair too, my mom noticed it and told me to put olive oil after shower everyday. it really helps girl!!! so everyday after shower, blow dry ur hair just a little, and dip 2 fingers in oil, and massage ur hair. you might need at least 4 2-finger dips. please try it, i'm telling you it makes ur hair shiny, soft and just gorgeous.

  • @jadensmith12 Honey I got a quick weave now, but I will remember that ! thnx

  • @jadensmith12 what kind of olive oil ? the kind for cooking works?

  • @jasiboo89 just regular olive oil.

  • I just figured your name. "High maintenance", that is so cool! The mayonnaise treatment was from Lorrainetips it's still on her channel. It's really good I'm noticing my hair health and improvements since June when I regularly began doing these treatments, every other weekend. I last dusted my ends then and have gained nearly 2" in length and more thickness.

  • It Lorrainetips for the mayonnaise treatment. It really helps with conditioning and moisture.

  • @Meechl Thanks for the info

  • I saturate my hair with moisturiser until it is slightly damp/moist every 2 - 3 days and dust my hair every 8wks or so.

I find water boring so I drink a lot of coconut water.

I do daily scalp massages and scritches using a Bohn comb (Hairsense), which aides circulation and growth. This may seem a lot but it becomes a habit after a couple if wks and my hair is thriving from it.

  • @Meechl She has braids now , but when I take them dwn .... its on ~! lol... thank u

  • What worked for me was weekly mayonnaise treatments (lovelytia2002 has a tutorial), followed by a moisturising conditioner. I wash my hair at least twice a week using organic shampoos and conditioners. The longest I go without washing my hair is 2wks.

I found a cream moisturiser with the first ingredient being water and I started using natural oils, like EVOO & EVCO to seal in this moisturiser. I use a moisturiser with glycerin in the summer and Blends Carrot Oil and Vitamin E in winter. I mo

  • lmao!! I know exactly how you feel!! Have you fixed the problem?

  • @juicygals Im in loc extentions now

  • Use a serum, I use Avon dry ends serum & it really helps also a leave in conditioner will make your hair less dry

  • @superlowrixx thnk u

  • Are you using products with mineral oil or petroleum, sorry I cant really hear your vid, so you may have said. But both of those are hair killers. Also are you using regular shampoo, you may want to try a sulfate free shampoo or discontinue shampoo altogether and use conditioner only, thats what I do mostly. You may want to try deep conditioning twice a week until you get your hair where you want it, oh I just realized this is from 2008-you probably worked this out.lol hth

  • @curlmebella Thats o.k about the date .... thnx for the info

  • @HIMAY10NENCE use natural shea butter from the street vendors (the medium yellow)put it in your scalp and do not use it sparingly....when you wash your hair (every 2 weeks) put medium braids in it and wash it with the braids in using a shea butter shampoo or a conditioning shampoo (believe it or not optimum is very good) also inbetween washing, massage your scalp with your fingers on a nightly basis to stimulate the scalp....i went naturally 2 years ago and started from a str8t baldie cutting

  • @HIMAY10NENCE out all of my perm and it is now shoulder length...if i were to blow it out it would be longer from the str8tening...see how that works for you....m hotep...

  • @Amunet369 Thanks for the info . Im on it .lol

  • i know this is an old video not sure if anyone has already posted it or youve come up with an answer....but you should also give urself scalp massage, manipulate the scalp get the blood flowing

  • @napzfaya THNXS SIS

  • Up your protein level and maybe conditioner wash your hair more than you wash with shampoo. Massage your scalp with the pads of your fingertips 15 min. nightly. And like you said,up your water intake. I think you should comb your hair daily because it can weaken the strands if you don't. You hair gets used to certain types of manipulation and if you abruptly change, it'll have to get used to it again. I'd say comb it gently daily and maybe try to slick your hair back.

  • biotin hair supplements will help your scalp and hair growth...for the dryness use soft sheen products like the scurl for natural hair..

  • @1monilove I didnt kno they had scurl for natural hair ! Thanks

  • use an activator gel daily and shampoo and condition your hair once a week. If your going to get the braids use a conditioning braid spray everyday. Don't comb your hair when its dry. Sorry about my last text my words weren't correct.

  • You shouldshampoo and condition your hair at least once a week. I would suggest you to use an activator get which will soften and condition your hair. shampooing your hair is a must. your hair needs all the moisture it can get. coloring your hair will dry it out too and cause it tto break of. All I can say is moisturize moisturize. the activator gel works wonders the best time to apply it is when the your hair is damp.

  • any kind of activator ? I dont care about no spellin were family around here !

  • im kinda havin thi problem.. im natural as well.. tips: baggy hair at nite [apply water based moisturizer an sleep in a shower cap wit a silk bonnet over it] STAY AWAY FR0M: MiNERAL 0iL PETR0LEUM SULFATES AND CETYL ALCOHOL [ALL ALCOHOLS REALLY] & be careful with the glycerin..if the air/weather is dry..ince glycerin is a humectant..it will pull moisture OUT OF YOUR HAiR..if there's no moisture in the air! hope this helps!
  • its does... thank u !

  • how the fuck i get a weak spot like the fuck i be standing on my head or sumn..rofl got dam hahahahahah you crazy azz hell

  • lol gurl

  • try pure glycerin....It keeps my hair very moisturized

  • THANKS T

  • 2 things i used to keep my hair from drying out when i first went natural are the sta sof fro spray that u can get from almost any store and the biolage hydrating conditioner that u can get from a salon or beauty brands, even some target stores. those 2 products were amazing!! now that im tryin to go more natural with my products, i use coconut oil nightly, jojoba oil, and plan to start using olive oil weekly and make sure to use a shampoo with no sodium lauryl sulfate!!! trader joes has 1 fo $3

  • Thanks for da info !!!!

  • wut braqnd of shea butter do u use cuz the only one i can use cantu. the other ones dry my hair out.lol

  • THANKS FOR THE TIP

  • my hair was doing the same so what i did was look for a shampoo and conditioner that was very moisturizing. Second i put my hair in sections..you can twist them or clip them in sections. I then found a moisturizing leave-in and put that in first then a hair moisturizer, then oil...this routine keeps my hair good and moisturized!

  • THANK U

  • Hey Lady...first let me say DO NOT GIVE UP on your natural hair. I had some problems in the beginning also. What has helped me tremendously is watching "coilskinkscurls" on you tube. She does videos on hair care, products reviews and hair styles. I've used a lot of the products that she's recommended and my hair is coming along very well. You look to have the same hair texture as mine. Check her out by typing in coilskinkscurls in the search bar.

  • Pleasure!

  • condition your hair with honey mixed with olive oil. Sleep with it in your hair overnight and wash off with cool water from the tap. Hope this helps.

  • Thanks i gotta make sure I got somethin good on my head Ill mess up my pillow case for sure .lol

  • It's worse when you walk around with it during the day! The heat from your head causes it to run. It'll drive you nuts! Yes, you'll need to protect your pillowcase big time :)! But, the end result for me is soft, very well moisturised hair with great curl definition. The thicker the consistency of honey the better. So, I am happy with it. Good luck!

  • Thanks for responding !

  • Sorry...i ment that co-washing isn't a problem. Washing your hair everyday would strip it of moisture.

  • Drink 9-10 glasses of water a day. Washing isn't generally the problem, unless the Ph of your water is off( it should be around 7).Also check the ingredients in your shampoo. Co-wash daily. You diet can also have an effect on you hair and skin. Lots of fruits and vegetables are good, also fish (omega-3 fatty acids), iron, and Vitamins E and B

  • Thats soooooo much love .THANK YOU

  • Everybody's hair is different, but I have found that Co-washing almost daily w/ Suave Cocunut conditioner and Mixing it with a liberal amount of honey, gives me super moisture and Curl definition on primarily 4b hair...Also, the smooth and shine Curl activatior gel with finger combing is great!

  • Thanks for the love

  • lol "it hurts the shit out of my head" Classic u so pretty

  • lol thank u soooo much

  • Hello, try using olive oil before washing your hair and after washing your hair. It really really helps!

Air dry hair instead of blow dry. You can use the mayo treatment or egg in your hair. I know its crazy but it does work!

Hope I helped and do try them out cause they work

  • Thanks for the love baby!

  • Did you dye your hair? Dying your hair a lighter color is really harsh on your hair, also if you co wash daily (wash your hair with ONLY conditioner - no shampoo) it will help keep it moisturize. Conditioner is for the hair, shampoo is for the scalp. You are hilarious by the way- you seem hella cool. I take it youre not natural anymore? If not, i hope you come back. :)

  • Thanks .... I miss being natural. Even under my weaves I was still natural but now Im so ready to take the big chop again. But I always like to look diffrent !

  • Girl ur hair was so pretty natural!!!

  • Thanks sis, How u been?

  • Good girl, how was your 4th?

  • good and you ?

  • sweet nature by Eddie is wonderful for dry hair

  • Looks like you have 4b type hair that means all your products should revolve around moisture. forget about redken and all of these other synthetic products people are recommending your hair isn't synthetic and neither should the products you put in your hair should be synthetic use unrefined shea butter whipped with coconut oil and olive oil your hair will be so soft also aubrey organics island natural have good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner

  • Now why didnt u find me 4 months ago.lol. Can you recommened something for my babys hair? She is VERY tenderheaded{like me}its so DRY,even if I oil it ,it soaks it right up.She SCREAMS when u comb it .Just like I use too.HELP......Thank u

  • I have very curly hair that gets tangled easily Ive found that the best thing for me is to only comb my hair when it is dripping wet and to prevent it from tangling I wash it in twists or braids in the shower also try combing her hair from the ends to the roots and use a really wide tooth comb or pick, detangling picks work the best for me! Good luck!

  • thanks Lisha

  • Looks 4a to me, not 4b.

  • Whats the difference? I cant tell .HELP.lol

  • Do a for shampoo or conditoner I recommend cream of nature, redken all soft , aubrey organics island naturals. pretreatment with mayo, olive oil and honey on dry hair before washing I sit under then dryer for 20 minutes then rinse shampoo and condition. for moisture throughout the week I use mango bee mine hair growth serum and karens body beautiful hair nectar or milk. all these products can be done or natural or relaxed hair.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • this is what i use, and it keeps my hair cool:

    co-wash often

    profectiv conditioners

pantene daily oil moisture (i use it like hair grease, it makes my hair feel like i have a relaxer)

weekly treatments. i just used a cholesterol treatment and it was great

    sleep with a satin cap

  • Thanks ,Im no longer natural but my baby is .....so thank you sis

  • Hi, I am a hairdresser and I would 100% rccomend that you get some "redken" shampoo and conditioner. If it breaks and snaps use the redken- extreme range. for softer and more manageable hair the all soft and smooth down range is fantastic. do not use any heat or any chemicals. good luck. x x

  • Thanks for the love

  • Okay so I know this is an old vid but, hey I just found your channel sooo here's my two cents: protective styling, more vitamins, more water, glycerin & working out. Hope it helps.

  • thank you

  • Give yourself a hot oil treatment.

  • thank you

  • Don't put heat on it!

    Clip the ends!

Don't use relaxer or curly perms!

    Do not over use dye!

  • thanks

  • PLEase comb it, it needs to be detangled! lol

  • Im wit cha when ur right!lol

  • lol, you don't look like you stand on your head, lol! Those bands do take some getting used to. I found if mine is not far enough back I'll get a headache. (found that out in the last two days) Hope you figure it out, wish I could help

  • Thanks for think bout me I just got a sew in weave being that its 2 degres in the St.L. SO Im cool for now.lol

  • color... 2 much protein? ?? you also said you use shea butter. You hair looks just like mine texture when I don't comb it and fro it out. I can't use shea butter bcz it leaves an awful buildup on my hair. I have a product you may want to try if you can find it. Let me know it you are interested

  • Yeah when u get a chance..... hit me up

  • and it does make your hair shiny. when i use it for my knots people think i have a fresh relaxer LOL

  • The reason that your hair is breaking is because you do not comb it enough. You shouldn't comb it too much but atleast comb it once a week.

  • i didnt know that. thanks

  • Yeah, and you should also really start depending on leave-in conditioner. My favorite leave-in conditioner is "Motion's at home leave-in conditoner". It is really good because all you have to do is just spray it in your hair and go, unlike the lotion leave-in conditioners. Also, when you get ready to comb your hair, I would recommend that you get a wide tooth comb, and use detangling spray. I use "Just for me" detangling spray. It's also best to section your hair; Do not comb it all together.

  • I have some of that for my baby{the just for me}I decided not to sweat it,Its only hair.If it breaks to much.....Ill cut it all off and rock a bald head,Im getting real sick of it but thank you for caring, lately Ive been wearing a wig,so Ill keep you posted!thanks

  • Yeah, I've been wearing wigs too. I had to cut my hair off really short, like a boy. Now, my hair is to the middle of my neck. The hair care tips that I've learned since my hair got damaged over a year ago has really helped my hair grow fast. Trust me, If I were you...I would just be patient (seriously) because it will grow. My hair is the same texture as yours, so I know how your hair will most likely react. You should also start taking vitamins (I promise you they'll help).

  • coloring stripes the natual oils in your hair. Massage your scalp daily for 3 minutes for stimulation using olive oil, shea utter or coconut oil. Do not wash your hair too much because it will take out the oils and also do not blowdry or hot com it because it damages your hair!

  • Oh yeah also keep your head covered when you are outside in the winter and in the summer let the the sun heal it for you! I have had natural hair for most of my life! If you have questions please ask! Always try to use organic and natural hair products and if they are too expensive make your own!

  • Ive started wearing wigs

because the colder the weather gets.....the drier my hair gets.I have extremely tender scalp so after a while my scalp will be tender to the touch, my daughter has the same problem.Have you heard of that before? hit me back when you get a chance.

  • thank you

  • thanks sista

  • i've been natural since 01' ..u said it! not enough water! i use coconut& olive oil, always condition after u wash, every time! and stop coloring it...its changin the natural texture of ur hair and thats whats causing problems. also try a shampoo for colored & damaged hair (IC FANTASIA) if u do braid then make sure there not too tight b/c they can take ur hair out. try 2 let it be free 2 breathe as much as possible. good luck!

  • Thanks girl.Lately I've been wearing wigs.I've been washing it conditionin it and oiling it and braiding it up and I put a stocking cap on it....Thanks P.S.I think Im going to keep working on it before I braid it. lol

  • You're right. If you color your hair, you may as well relax it because you're putting chemicals in it anyways and that defeats the purpose of going natural.

  • I dont think it defeats MY pupose,I dont like my natural hair color,so Im ok anyway it goes, its only hair so if it breaks off ok as long as my organs dont shut dont ,then Ill have a big problem,I went to your page to see your hair, post a pix when u have a chance,I cant wait to see it .Thanks

  • I agree w/you. Lots of folks dye their natural hair. Check out patchouli85. The best deep conditioning tutorial I've seen on Youtube. I would try Aphogee 2 step protein treatment every 2 to 3 months. You should try shampoos that are sodium lauryl sulfate & sodium dodecyl sulfate free (very drying to black hair). Might want to try adding oil to your hair like Jojoba oil with the leave in. Some moisturising conditioners like Dove or Nexxus Humectress work well as a live in. Hope this helps :)

  • Thank you that was very very helpfull.

  • I totally agree with you about patchouli85! I have been using her deep conditioning treatment for months. I am transitioning right now and you would not believe how good my hair feels! I was going to suggest that HIMAY10NENCE check her out!

  • I just can't get over how much moisture my sucks in from the conditioner and how my hair seperates into individual coils. Plus very shine. Lots of shrinkage

  • I washed and conditioned at night, added oil, and put my hair in twists. The next day I took them out for a twistout. Each morning after that I would LIGHTLY spritz my hair with water, add my oil, fluff and go. When my twistout became more of a chunky fro, I repeated the process. Not only did I not have dryness issues, my hair grew like a weed (that you water...hint hint).

Color WILL dry your hair out, as will heat, so be careful. Also, shea butter may be too heavy; try lighter oils. Good luck!

  • After getting out of the shower I would pat my head damp, add my oil (Moisture Max, then as my hair got longer, Pink Oil...like I said this was BEFORE I learned about the evils of mineral oil, lol), pick it out (or not) and go. Keep in mind it was winter in Chicago when I did this...I just made sure I did it early enough so that my hair was mostly dry by the time I hit the door: 30 minutes or (usually) less.

When my hair grew longer (to about your length) I switched my routine.

  • Moisture is the cure and WATER is the key. Let me take you back to 1996 which was my first full year as a natural. This was WAY before all this stuff was online, lol. My hair is a tighter texture than yours and I never had any dryness issues because my hair saw some form of water EVERY SINGLE DAY.

When I had a TWA I washed and conditioned every 4 days or so and rinsed with plain water the rest of the time. I did this with my morning shower...just stuck my head under the spray.

  • Try Honey in your hair. That'll keep it soft & supple! I add it to my shampoos, conditioner & now.... my daily spritz. I do not have dry hair anymore. Should help with the breakage too. Your hair looks great BTW!!

  • thanks sista, can i just put all over{honey}and let it set?

  • Ive never applied the honey that way (just straight)so I'm not sure. I've always added it into something else. In my conditionder I scoop or pour some in a bowl. I add honey (kinda alot) & olive oil, mix it up & apply & I do let that sit awhile before rinsing. But if you have a daily spritz, try adding some in there.. not too much, not too little. It'll be trial & error to get the right amt. but once you get it, it'll be so lovely in your hair. I cant wait to hear results if you try it! :-)

  • it might be dry b/c of the color. color strips ur hair of moisture. try deep conditioning it a few times a week with a moisturizing conditioner. COMB IT, but with a widetooth comb and only when it's wet. if you dont comb it, it will break. i hope this helps. oh yeah, and don't get synthetic braids b/c that will dry it out more. good luck!

  • thanks sistafriend

  • I had the same exact problem but I stretched a relaxer and then cut it. The middle started breaking and the hair dresser told me the same thing. I refused to believe her and did my own assesment. I was still using the same products as when I had a relaxer and no matter what I did, it was just dry and crunchy. Then I had a rude awakening

  • moisture moisture moisture, can help with the breakage. Shea butter, and oils are good to e=help seal in the ends. I found an excellent "commercial product" that works. Organics Texture my way Curlkeeper...ALso your fingers are some of the best tools, but you want to be careful not to neglect the hair, because keeping your hair moisturized and well detangled can help. If you rarely comb you can be missing some tangles that eventually snap and break off. Hope this helps..

  • DId it .....it helped alot thanks sista

  • your doing alll the right things

its cold where you are and thats whats drying it out :)

im in england and i will oil my hair and then go out when i get back its soo dry

    LOVE THE COLOR

  • Ive always wanted to go to England.Thank you for your help but Im sick of this dumb hair.lol

  • My hair was comin out and dont you know i started using suave conditioner (the cheap stuff..LOLL but it does work.. ok take care.Love your videos.

  • Im on it, thanks girl

  • Your hair look soo healthy and rich and beautiful.Maybe keep the ends clip and oil and keep i mosit. It grows well. Please dont put a wig on it. You got beautiful hair. Maybe that part that u think is coming out is from the weave or the things we put in our hair. Now i heard olive oil and coconut oil mix. works pretty good. But you have lovely hair and it looks rich and healthy. I said leave it like it is.

  • Im sick of it to ....It feels like hay.lol

  • yeah girl nobody can tell unless theyre all in my head. thank god .lol.I brought my wig back out. Ill make a video 4 you.

  • I can't tell that it's dry and breaking, but it seems like you're doing all the right things, but I know when I was getting sew in weaves, it helped mine a little.
