Jackie wilson was one of the best vocalists of any era bar none, and was surrounded by the some of the chintiest arrangements (this song not being as bad as some his others) around.

@K3KCT I couldn't give a toss whether you believe me or not.
For the record it was in the late eighties and the girl in the video used to come to a club in the west end of London where i was the dj.I can't even remember her name as it was so long ago.She used to live in North London and came to the club with her sister.She also was in the soap opera Eastenders,think she appeared once or twice in that.
As for what she is doing now,I have no idea.Lost contact many years ago

@OneBillyTurner Why is the bit about being a dj DODGY.It was a job i did for over 20 years,I have no reason to tell porkies,it was just a job.The club she used to come to was called Shatesburys in Shaftesbury Avenue London,one of many I used to dj in.

One of the most joyous songs you'll ever hear. Wilson and Cooke both had two of the finest voices, not just in soul, but in modern popular music. Unfortunately the former wasn't really given the consistency of material to make him a huge star and the latter was killed just as soul music was about to get interesting. One reviewer I read described how listening to much of Cooke's music was like 'watching Zidane play for West Brom'. A little unfair on the Baggies but otherwise a good description.

I know that Jackie wanted the police not to charge her. He told them that she tried to commit suicide and he rescued her and while doing that the gun went off..the police settled with that explanation when all parts agreed..

I loved the fact that in the late 80's they re-introduced so many songs from prior eras into the UK charts. It gave the younger generation of that time a chance to really appreciate wonderful music, they may not have otherwise heard.
