Avatar Soundtracks: Avatar State

Anyone get this funny feeling like Korra will be the last Avatar? Like, the cycle will be broken, and the world will move on without anymore Avatars or perhaps even without benders? I just feel like there'd be no point in doing the new story unless it's to introduce some awful finality that drastically changes the world.

This part plays after Aang finds out that Appa has been muzzled and sold and Katara has to pull him out of his Avatar rage... probably one of my most favorite moments in the entire series and it has absolutely NO dialogue... just this music. <3

i used to not care much for the music in avatar because i was to enthraled in the action comedy and story but now that i go back and watch the series i realise how truley magnificent it actually is.

I have a theory: Once, there was only energy bending, but one person discovered how to manipulate the elements, first water, then earth, then fire, then air. They became the first Avatar. They had four children, and taught each one element. theses four went on to build nations and teach these arts using the world around them. Unfortunately, there was no fifth child to learn energybending, so the knowledge was soon lost.

@omegasoldier382 nope actually people were taught by the first bending masters. Badger moles for the Earthbenders, the dragons for the firebenders, the sky bison for the Air nomads and then the Moon for the waterbenders. it's all in the show. people learned how to bend elements by observing nature

And in the second season, "The Cave of Two Lovers"

the story on the wall said that those two people, Oma and Shu learned earthbending from the badger moles.

The first avatar might aswell could have been a simple guru who reached a point of enlightment of the 4 elements water air earth & fire and at that point became the avatar.

I believe on the first cd where iro tells hes cousin that even though people are split upto 4 different nations, doesnt mean that they only have to learn knowledge of their own power, and rather seek wisdom out all 4 elements.

@lilondra sorry to disappoint you but there won't be a fourth season because Nickelodeon didn't make the story they only animated it. There are only three books therefore only three seasons, while they own the right to the show they don't own the story rights, even if they wanted to they can't make a fourth one due to legal reasons.

They argue against a book of Air because Aang already knew it at the end, but I was thinking maybe a prequel series where we find out what happened while Aang was frozen.

Then they could go over things such as Iroh's journey to the spirit world, maybe follow Zuko's mom a bit after her banishment to see where she went.

There's also the idea of other true Air survivors and I personally want to know how Iroh's son really died besides "on the battlefield".

Aang's kids? Any thoughts?

Yea I like your idea. I had an argument with some guy at my school, about whether or not some air benders survived or not. I figured some had to, since they're nomadic, and were in ties with the white lotus. Who's to say none survived and hid, they only say no one has seen an air bender in 100 years(probably implying they're extinct). But I guess we'll never know. lol

unfortunately they never eally tell you where zukos mom was. but we do know that she is alive and the fire lord knew her wherabouts the entire time. i was disappointed that it didnt show where his mother was though. was wanting to see her charcter appear other than in memories or mirrors. ah well. it was still a very good show. so sad it ended but hopefully the movie does it justice. if not, we still have the awesome show on dvd.

& jet did die but being a kids show they dont actually say it.

You're half right. But this is actually from the end of "The Desert" when Aang goes into the Avatar State because of his stress over losing Appa, but Katara is able to calm him down before he does any serious damage ^_^

This is from "The Desert." Such a powerful episode, especially at the end. When Katara is the only one who can bring Aang out of the avatar state, when she's the only one who can reach him, when the music makes that shift from ultimate power to soothing peace just before the end. Now THAT is strong stuff! You could cut the emotion with a knife at the end of that episode.
