Anyone else notice that the UFC started to explode around the same time ECW and WCW went out of business? Hmmm... I wonder where the professional wrestling audience migrated to. I stopped watching all three shows around 1999 because they all started to suck. WWF got a little better around '01-'02 but it didn't last. I haven't seen a show in almost ten years. I check out TNA every once in a while hoping for some competent competition and am disappointed every time, so I stopped tuning in.
I would say that iin 2005-2007 wwe had a tag team divison great teams mnn-cad and murdok, london and kendrick,deuce and domino,hardys, now wwe only has 2 good teams. uso boyz and kidd and smith i mean the rest they just throw anybidy together no double team moves finshers great team work it is sad.

Even though the UFC is real fighting the format they use is very wrestling-ish throw in some boxing and MTV you got the UFC. They even have a former pro wrestler as their biggest draw (Lesnar) and are possibly looking to add another (Lashley).

Ah, I remember when HHH beat Orton for the belt in 04' I refused to watch WWE which was when I got my hands on my all time favorite wrestling DVD and show hands down, Ted Petty Invitational 2004. Without that show I never would've gotten into ROH, PWG, CZW, CHIKARA etc. probably. I ordered the DGUSA PPV and went to the Chicago show.

I like WWE alot, it is my favourite wrestling provider. I also enjoy Japanese wrestling and ROH. I'm in Ireland, but I do try to buy stuff from those companies whenever I get the chance. Yet some Americans still aren't willing to give up their money despite enjoying that wrestling and then bitch about WWE but refuse to stop watching it...

the talent is not only the problem (even booker t and scott steiner, are planning on leaving TNA and rhaka has left and sara del rey is given a tryout match where she won). Russo is cause of many problems since 2007 and now he is maybe leaving after BFG. Behrens might be considered along with Spolsky.
Frankly speaking, most people this time of year (Oct.-Jan.) would rather watch a second rate Sunday Night football game with teams they may not even like, compared to paying $30+ for a wrestling PPV that most likely will not live up to anyone's expectations.

Smackdown and ECW (their wrestling) is the best thing about WWE right now, Raw is a huge letdown every single week, when are they gonna stop having these special guest hosts?, Smackdown is new and fresh and ECW has some of the best wrestling right now in mainstream wrestling (other than ROH), I don't think WWE sucks, they just need some better booking for Raw.

your right about the UFC thing because like maybe about 3 months ago decided to actually learn and get in to MMA (and yes i watch more then UFC ) i havent wanted to buy a WWE or TNA PPV in like 2 or 3 months outside of sumerslam . Right now, I like Impact & Smackdown quite a bit, so I'm pretty happy. I haven't watched Raw since the DiBiase episode and I'm happy for it. And unfortunately, ECW is so unimportant, I forget about it half the time. I kind of have the attitude of "If WWE doesn't care, why should I?"
But I have gone through periods where none of the wrestling shows were doing it for me (early 09 for example) so I actually started watching old stuff that I really enjoyed.
I got the Best of SNME DVD, and that might be my favorite DVD that the WWE has released. What a fun nostalgic romp that was. Say what you will about the E, but their DVD releases are usually pretty good.
But yeah, there is no law that says you have to watch the current wrestling shows. Nobody is holding a gun to your head & making you. And hell, my Mondays are filled with Big Bang Theory & Monday Night Football, so I don't even need Wrestling to fill the evening.
Here's one for you Truthslayer. I live in Spain (originally from Calgary) and I'm buying all the ROH shows from the store, I'm up to the first 20 shows, and Im awaiting the 21st. So people can't say they cant get stuff, If i can get it in spain, anyone in the US and Canada can get them. I always try to get them from the ROH site to help them, but some are impossible and I get them from Ebay.

El Generico vs. Jigsaw vs. Kota Ibushi vs. Nick Jackson was amazing for Rey De Voladores tournament from King of Trios, I downloaded it I admit because I didn't have any spare change laying about, but seriously, TWO dollars? Buy that sampler just for that match.
I have dabbled in other wrestling events. ROH puts on a good product as far as in ring goes. I am not huge on their promos or anything out of the ring. I am not bashing, just the way I feel. I have not seen a lot of PWG. I hate Chikara, it is just not entertaining to me for the most part. I don't hate WWE, which I know isn't a popular opinion on here, so I try to watch as often as time allows. WWE is a shell of its old self, but they do have some quality stuff to go along with the crap
Not many people do right now, it's not as good as it was say in 2007. Buy PWG, Chikara DVDs. If you're not sure you can buy that sampler or download one show, and if you like that show, buy another.
2007 was probobly ROH's best year the number of GREAT shows they put on was SICK. That said most of the people that don't like it right now..don't even watch it and just have this "Gabe Left so it sucks" additude. This year has been as good as last year was and it might even be better.
I'm not to terribly into ROH right now and its nothing like that. To me they have a problem thats like the complete opposite of WWEs main problem. They can't keep established stars and work to much on new stars. I feel like everytime I get into a guy he's depushed and we a get a new up-and-comer in his place. Maybe he'll get a rub again down the line maybe not. Danielson has kind of become my last straw. I'll watch again, but right now nothing is really pulling me in.

though its hard for us to do support the "bigger" promotions in japan...it gets easier with an online agent...being a fan of New Japan, i now got my way of supporting them by purchasing their merch...
i support the WWE by going to shows around my state and purchasing some merch with leftover money..same goes for Royal Rumble and WM PPVs...

Even though the UFC is real fighting the format they use is very wrestling-ish throw in some boxing and MTV you got the UFC. They even have a former pro wrestler as their biggest draw (Lesnar) and are possibly looking to add another (Lashley).
Time for the UFC to throw out all of its weight classes and go back to their 'Are you man enough?' gimmick

Ah, I remember when HHH beat Orton for the belt in 04' I refused to watch WWE which was when I got my hands on my all time favorite wrestling DVD and show hands down, Ted Petty Invitational 2004. Without that show I never would've gotten into ROH, PWG, CZW, CHIKARA etc. probably. I ordered the DGUSA PPV and went to the Chicago show.

Russo is cause of many problems since 2007 and now he is maybe leaving after BFG. Behrens might be considered along with Spolsky.

Smackdown and ECW (their wrestling) is the best thing about WWE right now, Raw is a huge letdown every single week, when are they gonna stop having these special guest hosts?, Smackdown is new and fresh and ECW has some of the best wrestling right now in mainstream wrestling (other than ROH), I don't think WWE sucks, they just need some better booking for Raw.

Right now, I like Impact & Smackdown quite a bit, so I'm pretty happy. I haven't watched Raw since the DiBiase episode and I'm happy for it. And unfortunately, ECW is so unimportant, I forget about it half the time. I kind of have the attitude of "If WWE doesn't care, why should I?"
But I have gone through periods where none of the wrestling shows were doing it for me (early 09 for example) so I actually started watching old stuff that I really enjoyed.

I got the Best of SNME DVD, and that might be my favorite DVD that the WWE has released. What a fun nostalgic romp that was. Say what you will about the E, but their DVD releases are usually pretty good.
But yeah, there is no law that says you have to watch the current wrestling shows. Nobody is holding a gun to your head & making you. And hell, my Mondays are filled with Big Bang Theory & Monday Night Football, so I don't even need Wrestling to fill the evening.

I have dabbled in other wrestling events. ROH puts on a good product as far as in ring goes. I am not huge on their promos or anything out of the ring. I am not bashing, just the way I feel. I have not seen a lot of PWG. I hate Chikara, it is just not entertaining to me for the most part. I don't hate WWE, which I know isn't a popular opinion on here, so I try to watch as often as time allows. WWE is a shell of its old self, but they do have some quality stuff to go along with the crap

I'm not to terribly into ROH right now and its nothing like that. To me they have a problem thats like the complete opposite of WWEs main problem. They can't keep established stars and work to much on new stars. I feel like everytime I get into a guy he's depushed and we a get a new up-and-comer in his place. Maybe he'll get a rub again down the line maybe not. Danielson has kind of become my last straw. I'll watch again, but right now nothing is really pulling me in.

I think you're missing the point of this video. Did he not just say that there's more promotions out there then just TNA and WWE? You don't have to watch John Cena every fucking week if you can't stand him. If you're a die hard fan (such as myself), you'd watch ROH, AAA, NOAH, Japanese wrestling, any wrestling promotion.

You have the nerve to call the WWE/Cena-era marks casual fans, knowing damn well you (me as well) were a casual fan during the Monday Night Wars (even I was watching ECW as well). Like it or not, the WWE will never revive the "Attitude Era" unless TNA or even ROH becomes a threat. The only way that'll happen is that you suport ROH or even TNA (although I don't some of the things that's going on in the company).

I have a couple visa gift cards with only 4.00 or 5.00 each on it so im going to go over and buy the chikara sampler and maybe some of the other cheap japan stuff like ajpw and njpw because i love those companies
