I have a complete 65 impala 327 ss with very very few missing parts and needs the usual restoration: minor body work, replace floor pans, paint, interior redone, rebuild engine and tranny. How much do you think it would cost for me to restore it to a respectable clean condition? I have a budget around 10,000-12,000$, is that enough?

ok i have a dsm and have a love hate thing with it. so, not to take away anything from the eclipse cuz it is fast and all but any car person can tell from the video that that impala was having serious traction problems. that impala would more than likely take the eclipse from a roll.

You just have to deal with the fact that he has a GT35R turbo, and the Impala probably runs 13s(at best); it's also a heavy car, so it QUITE a bit longer to accelerate.

That year impala MIGHT have a th400 3spd but more than likely has a 2spd powerglide. you arent doing much over 100 anyway around it. serious traction issues sounds like too much gear in the rear anyways...slowing it down that much more at the traps.

GT35r is a turbo, not a kit. A kit includes all the lines (oil feed and return, water lines (if ball bearing), turbo manifold, sometimes 02 housing, and sometimes a lower intercooler pipe, all depending on the type of car. Garret, Precision, Innovation, even Ebay (lol) all make a verison of the GT35r. They come in ALL different types also. Journal or Ball (even Dual) bearing, Different Compressor housings (S,E,SP), and Different Exhaust housings (.63,.82.1.0, 4 bolt, 5 bolt, v-band, t3, t4).
