  • The Apartheid theme has been done to death. This movie was an inspiration and, as a South African I applauded Eastwood's attempt to keep it accurate. I was there and saw the Jumbo jet and drove from the Ellis Park staduim for nearly four hours to my home. (A trip that usually took 15 minutes) The celebrations were electric. Eastwood, rightly, emphasized the positive aspects of the movie but skilfully showed the difficulty of uniting a racial bias that was woven into white South African thinking

  • This is one of the better biopics that i've seen in awhile. I thought the casting was excellent. Eastwood did a pretty good job of making a possible "super boring movie...too much talking" into an entertaining talking movie.

  • enjoyable enough movie, the rugby played in the movie though was terrible, like 12 year olds, and the forwards looked more like the size of backs, where were the locks who in reality were 6 foot 7 and taller, lomu is 6 foot 4 but the guy playing him was 5 foot nothing, something that most don't know is the game was almost postponed due to half the all blacks having food poison, during the game some nz players were actually throwing up and were lucky to get through the whole game. someone cheated

  • @plonker00765 And this is the reason why the food poison was not a focus in this. What happened in 91-99-2003 & 2007 to the ab's?

  • @TTRugbyVids 91 99 03 they choked, 2007 they played dumb rugby but the french were helped by the most one sided refereeing display seen since south african referees in the aparthied era. the all blacks however have consistantly been the best team on the planet, one off tournaments are a lottery, take england for example, they won the world cup but were hopeless prior to, and after the w.c.

  • oh puhleeeaseee!!

  • @gazornonblatt don't believe it ? why did 26 all blacks ( yes 26 ) become very sick after their last meal together before the game, " varified by mark ellis " the only players who wern't sick were the players who weren't at that meal, certain south africans at that time would have done anything to win that tournament,it was imperative to bring the people together.

  • Great Movie to Inspire Leaders across the Globe. Thanks

  • Lmao go the All Blacks best team ever

  • clint eastwood rocks!

  • Just wondering, whats the theme of the opening? and the theme whilst you are talking

  • They're tracks from iMovie.

  • Good Review. Keep It up man

  • Thanks lethaface09.

  • Clint falls short again. First the script is cliche and dull, and very slow. I like slow movies but the movie never went anywhere. The division within South Africa is never portrayed but slightly hinted. Thus, weakens the movies depiction of Mandela's struggle for unity. Too much time is spent on cliche, poorly acted scenes. The cinematography is static and lacking. With exception of freeman and damon the acting is poor. There is no direction. There are better movies on Africa/South Africa.

  • I disagree, but to each his own.

  • Looks good

  • I recommend it.

  • I heard this was a good movie from my friend who went to see it. Said the beginning was a bit slow though.

  • Dang your a movie reviewing beast!

  • yep, decent writing

  • Pienaar was about 3 times the size of Damon, lol.

  • Yeah he really was... :)

  • I would love to see this film one day.

  • How did Damon do with the South African accent? :p

  • @thenameless191993 he did an outstanding job in my opinion

  • I agree, he did very well. Looking at the credits, he had a pretty good voice/dialect coach.

  • RUGBY !! :)

  • but why is the movie called Invictus, i don't get it overall it does look like a good film but since i had no idea what it was about, i was iffy to go see it, now after your review, the movie seems interesting and i will definitely see it sometime soon, thanks AG!!!

  • Invictus is a poem published in 1888 that plays a special part of Mandela's life. I'll put a link to it in the description.

  • looks awesome
