  • It is an instrumental piece written by Bobby Darin and performed by him on the harpsichord. It was released as the B-side of the 45 rpm single for the theme song to the movie "Come September", also written by Bobby. I recorded this from my copy of the 45. To my knowledge this piece has never been released on CD.

  • in mexico it was the B side of "come september" I dont know if they used in the picture, but its a fabulous instrumental as good as the A side

  • Maybe the trumpet thing came from the movie

Beyond the Sea and everything is that movie was not based on actual facts.

  • I thought Bobby played trumpet also, I may be wrong but I thought I read someplace that Charlie bought him a trumpet when he was still pretty young.

  • Wow! Bobby's talent was infinite. I'm blown away by this composition. I'll bet he arranged it too. What a find. Thank you.

  • I love this song!!!! Just fabulous!!...

  • this is sooooo cool!!!! i LOVE IT!!!

  • Where in the world did he get a harpsichord? I thought they stopped making them in the 19th century? Was this released on an album?

  • Oh, no, harpischords are still being made and are still readily available. My church has one that we bought a few years ago. This was never released on an album. It is on the B-side of the 45 RPM single for the theme to the movie "Come September", a Latin-flavored instrumental piece that Bobby also wrote.

  • Just one more musical instrument Bobby could play adding to the talent of this amazing man.

Not to mention his own composition, what a man, there seems to be nothing he could not do. wonderful thanks for posting.

  • With the harpsichord I believe that I'm up to eight on the count of musical instruments that Bobby could play. Depending on who's counting, it's anywhere from five to eight. I think the eight are piano, guitar, drums, vibraphones, harmonica, clarinet, bass and harpsichord.

  • clarinet?? so awesome! I wish he coulda played trumpet. lol i mean i'm sure he could have, i guess i meant done so. he could've done anything on any instrument lol

  • I didn't know about the clarinet until recently. I was reading David Evanier's biography "Roman Candle", and he says that Bobby played the clarinet in a school band.

  • Bongo's ;)

  • Thanks for the addition to the list. I did know about the bongos. He played them very early in his career for a Spanish dancer with whom he had an ill-fated love affair. This points out why there are varying counts of the number of instruments that he played. Some people might be inclined to see the bongos as just a type of drum and count the two as one instrument.
