MSA usually makes garbage products. Low quality. I'm surprised to see them making higher quality ear protection. Not sure I would trust them though... knowing what MSA is usually putting out on the market. Interesting though. thanks for sharing.
They're a decent setup, I've worked on quite a few of MSA headsets and hearing protection over the past few years where I work and for the most part they work well for the price. They come back for repair 90% of the time for one problem and that's the battery compartment. The leaf spring type contact on the back side loses tension and causes the ambient hearing to fail. If they fixed that design flaw they would last many years easily, didn't stop me from buying a set.
Sheesh that is super expensive. I bought 2 sets of cheapies from Harbor Freight off of clearance a long time ago. I think they were like $8 per set and they work great.
I don't pop off the gun that much I think, I have good hearing right now, I just don't want to go deaf if I do shoot more often. But I do know some people who are going deaf from listening to their Mp3 players to long and loud. I've seen some kids who are losing their hearing at the age of 13 and up. I work at a Hospital and seen about three kids so far with hearing issues D8. It's so sad.
I have a lot of hearing damage Davin. And I can sum it up this way in retrospect. I didn't stick forks into my eyes, so why did I subject my ears to the violence ?
(most of the damage was done 25-35 years ago, and I don't believe I'd heard/seen hearing protection)
Would you compare these to Peltor Comtac's?
dybro2 3 weeks ago
@dybro2
no, these are a level above Peltors
Peltors are good, these are good and comfortable

Good unboxing. Where are these made?

USA

The only thing I see is cheap packaging, the hearing protection is great from what I hear, it also is water proof compared to some of the Peltors.

gixxer4646 1 year ago
can one use these to block all sound out (without music)...even voices?

@liesje9876
Not really, they are not made to keep out all noise, just the real loud stuff
The kind that really get quiet are usually a bit larger than these

The only problem I have with electric hearing protection is that I forget to take them off.

You seriously think there is little difference between the $8 and $300 versions?
I may not own $300 ear pros either, but I do understand why they demand the price they do
GunWebsites 2 years ago
I never said there is little difference. I said how much I paid and they work great.

These retail for $245, the Gel Ear Seal is an additional $30

I need those when I'm shooting my Ak-47 xD, lol my ears will ring after shooting it a lot.
DavinDaGeek 2 years ago
you know the ringing is nerves dieing right?
They say the ring is the nerve dieing and once it stops you can't hear that tone or frequency ever again.. when enough die you are deaf..
At least that's how I've heard it explained to me
