  • dude i have been playing for 29 years and learned a lot from watching you play this solo!! U rock!

  • I've been playing for 30 years and THANK YOU!!!

  • ive been playing for 31 years and learned alot too. thank you

  • OK - click on my ID on the upper right and send me a message through my channel and I'll rip a copy of the tab for you and mail it to you

  • can u send me the tabs u used for this

  • I learned the entire solo 1 measure at a time from the tab in the May 2002 issue of Guitar world Magazine. You can get a copy of that Magazine on eBay for about $10-$20 including shipping. There is only one wrong Note in the whole thing - but it is a critical note...LOL

I have a copy but I may be able to scan it and email it to you...IDK?

  • Hey man, good job. I can pick up some by watching you but it would be really sweet if you could do a lesson. A lot of those parts are perfect. keep on rockin.

  • Les Paul tone and Motorcity ballz.... a great combination!... rock on Brother

  • yo man, i been watchin' uncle ted do this one for A LONG LONG LONG TIME&you pulled it off fantastic!!!! as for tmac4221,eat shit& die!! i don't see any vid of you pulling this masterpiece off,so shut the fuck up!!but i do agree with paguaplayer.....PLEASE DO A LESSON!!i got the intro but am stumped there.a lesson vid(hell even at say???3/4 speed?) anyway rock on dude.MDPBlitz

  • I really do want to do a lesson - but I have to decide how I can break it down to about 5 or 6 little lessons so people can follow it - also I want to add the other guitar parts that I don't play in this video. - Ya' see what I mean? It could take while.

  • dude u played intro very wrong man,

  • Do you mean the first lick before the solo REALLY starts - Yah that is the hardest part to perfect. I can DO IT RIGHT but to do it right and play everything else perfect is one in a million - I just haven't nailed it.

  • OK get your guitar out and plug it in to your amp and play the entire solo to Stranglehold without stopping. Do a digital recording of it and upload it to YouTube.

    I DOUBLE DOG DARE YA'

  • Ha ha! 5 stars. \m/

  • nice solo! everyone should check out speedtroller's other videos! they're great

im glad you caught those cool volume swells in the solo as well

  • Seriously Folks - THE BENDS that you have to do to make this sound right are the VERY HARDEST PART of the solo. Just practicing the correct bends will tear you fingers apart and form a callous that will last a few years. Seriously - you know how the song goes, so the notes come easy - it is the BENDS that kill you and very few people can get it right. I guess the rest is technique - but I didn't know that untill someone told me I was doing that.

  • That was incredible man, I've been playing for almost two years now, and that has motivated me more than ever, if you could put out a lesson or tabs it would be much appreciated

  • Thanks A LOT Man. I learned the entire solo 1 measure at a time from the tab in the May 2002 issue of Guitar world Magazine. You can get a copy of that Magazine on eBay for about $10-$20 including shipping. There is only one wrong Note in the whole thing - but it is a critical note...LOL I would LOVE to do a lesson but I would have to break it up into sections of solo. I just do my videos for fun - I'm not trying to be serious about it or show off - Heck Man - this video took me about 400 takes.

  • Hey I'm curious how long you think it took you to learn the solo like that? Again, that was just a great job. Is that an Eppi or Gibson btw???

  • I think it took me about 6 weeks to learn the whole thing - but also I learned all the other filler parts that I don't play in this video. Then it was practicing it for 2 years. I lack the talent to pick it up EASY..LOL

In all my videos I am playing a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Classic Antique, Heritage Cherry Sunburst signed by Mick Jones and Lou Gramm of Foreigner. It has the original Gibson 496R and 500T Humbuckers in it. Thanks to Duffy King.

  • Nice sound. I like the way you got the tone and sound with your guitar. Ted traditionally got a lot of his sounds through amp feedback and switching back and forth on the pick ups. You did it all with technique. Btw, is that standard tuning???? My only gripe.....put out a lesson!!!! Thanks for sharing bro!!!

  • Wow, that is freaking rockin. Such a nice tone and the playing. Thanks for sharing Bro....

  • If Ted dies...You are my next hero!! I have been playing this song on my guitar for a long time and never got the lead that perfect!! U Rock man!!

  • dude this shit is SICK!! it sounds like ted nugent...now if you could get those vocals in it would be insane...

  • dude i used to be able to play this when i was like 10 or 11...not perfect i might add..then i stopped playing it cuz my dad got tired of hearing it over and over...now i cant play it..i tried learning from the tab to but i just cant...you got it right on the money though

  • Great Job....

  • Thanks... I REALLY TRIED HARD!!!

  • Nice

  • Thanks,,,You can get the complete tab from Guitar World Magazine May 2002 issue. You can get one off eBay for about $12-$20.

  • You Rock!

  • dude it sounds like hte orininal guitar in the song nice :D

  • That is the BIGGEST Compliment I could have received. Thank You!!!

  • nice

  • lol dude thats KILLER..ive never seen anyone play the whole thing before. i've been wanting to learn it too but cant find no tabs for it nowhere. But yeah "doll" it up a little more and it will be flawless...

  • Thanks,,,You can get the complete tab from Guitar World Magazine May 2002 issue. You can get one off eBay for about $12-$20. Or you can get the Powertab off Ultimate Guitar for free and then download a free program to open the powertab file.

  • can someone help me with the tabs from 5:05 to 5:20. im dying to learn the one section but i cant find good tabs for it. i checked all the websites

  • Dude that is really easy. Go on eBay and get a Copy of Guitar World May 2002 for about $12 - to - $20. The tab from that mag only has one wrong note. I gave my original away and I have a new one on the way. Also that part is perfect in the Powertab from Ultimate guitar. But you have to download a free program to open powertab files. AND IT"S FREE. Most tab books are wrong - that's why most people don't buy them and gifted people started to put out Powertabs online. Unless you want th piano NFWM

  • Wow. :D

  • Thank You Madam Zoltar. You are my Queen - and I don't just say that because of "We are the Champions" Oh - that reminds me - I have to learn that one. Hmmm another video of that one. Hmmm Maybe

  • You should emphasize a little more on that gallop towards the ending of the Intro.

Awesome though man, Keep it up.

    JLS

    MalockF66

  • Thank You

  • not a bad job...the intro isn't exact but well done anyway.

  • Thank You - I don't play it exact in this video.

  • that guitar sound is aewesome

  • Are you Kidding? I think it's weak and lacks mid and bass frequencies - but I guess it depends on the speakers you have.

  • I forgot to say Thank You - I appreciate it. I played this song for over 10 hours straight.

  • very nice cover

  • waiting for that revamped cover young man . . .

    anything ?

  • It's coming up. I just need to get faster at it.

  • DAMN! lol, thats a tough guitar part, looks like you nailed it

  • I think I got it - You can be the Judge...lol It will take a while to get the video up..

  • excellent pal ...

you will be one of the few on planet e. if you can nail that.

i have seen Ted play it many times live ... sounds just like the recording ..... even his power trio (guitar, bass, drums) band sounds amazing playing it .... good luck !

  • I worked on it last night and today. I slowed it down to 1/2 speed without changing the pitch and looped it. My fingers are a little shredded and my ears are ringing...lol. There are a few other things that I would like to correct and add to the next video. I think I got - I'll record another video and post it if I nail it. Thanks for the challenge.

  • good job !

have never really seen anyone nail the guitar right after the "got you in stranglehold baby, you bet get out of the way "

many attempts; but have seen no one perfectly nail it .

    ]

    pretty close lad

  • What part is that? I bet I could get down. You mean the first solo part or the part where I say the bass solo is?

  • OK - I just listened to it and I know what part your talking about. It's the climb up to the 15th fret after the last bend. That is the hardest part to figure out. I'm gonna give it shot - It is totally Ted Nugents signature style of pull-offs and hamer-ons. If you listen there is more than one guitar. There may have been over-dubs that may add to confusion of the notes. But Mr. Nugent recorded the whole guitar solo in Stranglehold in ONE SHOT and he actually had to go back and learn it himself.

  • Hey thats pretty good!
