  • Only 35k views, Are they mad? Missing out on some great shizz here

  • Beautiful people still walk among us

  • Best band live - EVER!

  • This is a deeply Catholic song. I'm not Catholic myself, but I just wanted to point it out. Like their other hit "Holy Grail", it is is just what it appears to be . When "the river runs dry" is spiritual exhaustion. Salvation raining "one more time" is the Christian idea of infinite forgiveness in the face of imperfection. It is anti-materialist. The best line in my opinion: "Blind luck and destiny... do me a favour!" He's saying there's neither blind luck nor sidereal destiny - it's up to God.

  • First off, I'm the husband of the lovely woman you see int the pic. That out of the way, I just bought an cassette tape by this band that was a serious mix of Bauhaus and Alien Sex Fiend--to the point where I thought the singer might be the ASF singer. THIS SONG SUCKS. It's not what I expected. At all.

  • @simplypsycho123 Get back on your space-ship and leave in peace.

  • this is one of the best songs ever by Hunters and Collectors. What a shame they broke up

  • Who said the 80's was full of shitty synths and awful melodies? Well yeah it was, but this song and many other aussie classics buck the trend.

  • they just dont make music like this anymore :(

  • Salvation will rain on you one more time

  • ok all todays music is crap ..the young fellas are flocking to this ..1989 , woerking for a scrap yard in Alice Springs ..loved it ....if i had a time machine id relive the 80s for the music alone!

  • @waniati Awesome song true, but its unfair to label all of today's music as crap...there's plenty of good and crap music around. Naturally people love music which was around the time they were young, so can't fault you for that! :-)

  • If some legend is able to put up "Love All Over Again" then I will have to send them a case of beer. Mark Seymour are you thirsty?

  • I saw Hunters & Collectors in 1990 in Canada opening for Midnight Oil. They made Midnight Oil seem old and boring.

  • Man this song makes me crave a Big M!!!!

  • Isnt the singer Kiwi?

  • @PortandFreo

No. H+C frontman is Mark Seymour, and he is definitely Australian.

You might be confusing him with Neil Finn, who fronts Crowded House - he was from New Zealand.

Co-incidentally, Mark Seymour has a brother - Nick Seymour - who plays bass in Crowded House.

  • @elfuzzo Indeed dad told me there were a few crowded house people in this band so I took a stab that he was kiwi.

  • @PortandFreo Hunters & Collectors 100% Australian. Crowded House when formed in Melbourne Australia were 2 Australians and 1 Kiwi (Anywhere else in the World this would make them an Australian band), but because Neil Finn (ex Kiwi band Split Enz) was involved many people assumed that they should have NZ parentage.

  • SPECTACULAR chorus :)

  • Brings back soooooo many memories of the 90's...

  • great song and great aussie group!

  • How could anyone not like this song? Great bass, percussion, and melody.

  • love this!

  • whats with only 18,000 + views !

    dont people know good music

  • 57.9 for fuel WOW i wish we could go back to that lol...

  • @freshlyanimated

What about 14.9, guess I'm a bit older.

  • @freshlyanimated Hell yeah, not only that, that was the good old high octane Leaded Super! Which was the same price as the reglular Unleaded back in those days. Oh how times have changed, now we get ripped into sideways at the fuel pump for the premium high octane petrol!

  • @freshlyanimated Not really, I remember that was still a lot back then. I was Earning $550 a week in a good job.

  • @freshlyanimated AMEN!

  • rivers seem to be overflowing in Queensland..so my guess is H&C are telling us about the Euphrates..check out watch?v=FlHrL6ymfUI

  • is this a metaphor for when you finish pissing (river runs dry) and you go back to the bar (scene of the crime)?

  • @ldwhite69 could well be..makes a lot of sense lol

  • Poor Mark worked his butt off best live band in the country at that time, just could'nt sell albums story of a lot of musicians life these days

  • Anyone think this could pass as the new Australian national anthem?

  • @Didgebaba that would be great but i wonder if Queenslanders will agree

  • WW3 ....comin soon ...to a theatre of your choice .

  • This is the first song of theirs that I heard and still my favourite. I followed them religiously from then on and saw them at least once each time they came to Brisbane. Favourite concert was at Transformers in January early 90's in the middle of a heatwave. A couple of thaousand people crammed in filling both levels and it was so hot that the security guards were drenching us with water from barriers at the front of the stage. Hunnas played the music while the crowd sang the song. Awesome

  • When the river runs dry you fuck off to a place you think is more hospitable and pleasant only to find it's still full of the fake assholes you were trying to get away from.Due respect to the Hunters-they performed at the first rock concert I ever attended supporting The Stranglers - I was 15 -now I'm 40 broken and still as angry and pessimistic as back then.

  • It still is such a top song, ageless

  • overlooked and underated, these guys should have been huge

  • AWESOME Song by a brilliant band, WAY before their time.

  • awseome song, pure gold! memories of a happier time, when life was filled with infinite possibilities...
