Fav John songs: Boris The Spider Whiskey Man Doctor, Doctor My Wife My Size Nightmare Please Wake Me Up Success Story Cousin Kevin Fiddle About Thinkin' It Over
Thanks to everyone for posting these Cleveland shows. Good footage from the 75 tour is rare. I was at the Toronto show several nights later, still the best concert I have ever seen.
The section where they go "creepy crawly" is unforgettable. This is one of those songs you hear once and always remember.Who can look at a spider now and not hear this song in their head?
Now what other group could write such a memorablly lovely song like this? It would be a silly piece of filler or any other group, but somehow it's as powerful as almost any other Who tune. Which says a lot about Entwistle and his contribution to this supergroup! Wouldn't be the same without him. And we know what it's been like the past 9 years without him. Just not the Who anymore. Bad enough without Keith for the last 30 years.
I recently discovered this song since I got a greatest hits Who collection for Christmas. And I love it! I spent part of yesterday memorizing it. (not to mention I was having a little Who-fest anyway)
This song is amazing, you could argue that it is the best song ever written because modern man owes a lot to the spider, if it wasn't for spiders man or humans as a spiecies would cease to exist, the planets would be thrust out of alignment and there would be world wide chaos. What better an artist to perform the worlds best song than the worlds best band, ROCK ON THE WHO !!!!
John! He is like WOW! ;) =D

john's songs tend to have a bit of a comic relief element to who music. Anyone else agree?

Im sure many metal bands have based they're entire singing style on this one song.
EnglishGirl91 3 years ago 12
What a bice view on metal. just imgine Slayer or Metallica playing this song in a funny way. That would be great and wouldn't be so damn serious!
SschmierFink 3 years ago
Yeah it would be great if metal didn't take itself so seriously. The chances of that happening are slim though.
