  • Does anyone know of a list of the more lighthearted period pieces? (I may have seen them all, but who knows?) I started trying various period dramas and they were all, well, TOO dramatic. I started feeling like I was in a soap with no trace of humour and my suspension of disbelief flaps off through the window.

  • If you are ofended do not bother reading this well I think todays women are VERY Inproper and as far it is most today are ugly some are pretty but thats because there not lazy sofa potatos and watching stupid reality TV. seriosley peope reality TV. is stupid and celeberties are not the best thing in the world and todays women dont act proper and liikreal ladies so stop calling them that just call them gals Honistley you all should know PROPER WOMEN HAVE BEEN LOST.

  • what's the movie at 1:39?

  • @thehillbill709 The Importance of Being Earnest. :)

  • It's not "old fashion". It's "old fashioned." They're two different things.

  • @Sei1863 Oh wow! I can't believe it's been incorrect all these years! That's pretty embarrassing. I do know the difference... I just have too-fast typist hands. :P Thank you for pointing that out!

  • This is really nice!

  • @MizPriscilla Thank you! :)

  • When women were women. Bless them all.

My favourite, its got to be little Molly Gibson, its the innocence and integrity combined that i adore.

  • @Woodlander65 Oh, I love her! And I've felt like her a few times as well; trying to keep everyone's secrets and being weighed down by it all.

Yes, bless womanhood and those that embrace it gracefully! :)

  • @bethiemw I agree with you, when God made you it was one of his very finest moments.

A good woman is worth much more than the most precious jewels, and i thankyou for it. Bless all old fashion girls.

  • How lovely! I wish more women were taught there's more to being a lady than two x chromosomes. Embrace your femininity, ladies! It's nothing to be ashamed of, but treasured. There is a difference between men and women and we should celebrate it.

On a side note, I wish we still dressed like this! Who gives a darn about pants when you could wear lace and tulle for EVERY DAY???? :D

  • @frostdiamond1

    AGREED!

  • Beautiful movie! You've compiled some of my favorite period drama heroines!

  • @AnglophileElf

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

  • i dont agree that a lady is someone of refinement and gentle manners so much as simply having a good, true, and honest heart, but i must say it was a beautiful tribute! My personal favourites of the young ladies are Molly Gibson, Margaret Hale, Elizabeth Bennet, and Anne Shirley. Thanks!

  • I think up to a point, the good, true and honest heart will show through in the lady's manners and dress. Wearing smutty clothes, for example, is hardly going to give someone the impression that you're a lady. Same with acting crude and uncultured. You don't have to wear lace up gowns that go ankle length or cast of tees and jeans and being carefree, outspoken and fun to be a lady. But I think it's rather obvious who a lady is by the way she behaves.

    And you're vastly welcome. :)

  • They were amongst the finest of all women throughout the ages.

  • I LOVE ANNE OF AVONLEA AND GREEN GABLES! Meagan Follows is the best for that role. Nobody not even Barbara Hershey can play her EVER!

  • This is something I love. I have decided as of last week to dress more modestly and feminine, with beautiful flowing skirts and dresses, just to feel the beauty and femininity that comes with womanhood. I encourage all ladies out there, to embrace your femininity , elegance, and ladyness. It's something beautiful that should not be pushed away, by dressing unisex rather we should cherish being a lady, we are so lucky to be ladies.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself, so I won't try. :) Thank you for your lovely comments.

  • i agree most passionatlly i also feel for those young women who feel they must wear such innaproprate clothing like ultra minis and belly shirts to be beautiful! it makes me sad because i believe if we dress more modestly we show our true beauty and grace, it just makes me sad to see

  • @AddaRockera1 I do the same :)

    May God bless you!

  • @Patternpop

And you! I've actually started buying myself some nicer nightgowns for bed because I feel so feminine and beautiful in them. Sometimes it's hard finding ones that don't look like hospital gowns or prairie girl, but I found one that's part Sense and Sensibility, part Helen of Troy, and oh how it flows! ^.^ Yes, I wear that to bed. ;)

  • @bethiemw Groovy.

  • oh this is perfectly lovely!

  • Thank you so much! *curtsies*

  • Mabey this is why I feel so connected to this period of time. I have all of the movies of Megan Fallows (Anne)

  • yes megan was simply perfect for the role of anne!

  • I love this video

  • Thank you! Your viewing and comments are always appreciated. :)

  • Lovely!!! 5 stars!

  • lovely!

  • I love the fashion in those days! The dresses, accessories and hair styles where stunning! Someimes I think I was born in the wrong century! :)

  • I think the same sometimes. Then I listen to musicals on my laptop and think, "No, I can always imitate Austen styles in this period." ;)

  • I'm greatful I was born in this century but the fashion back then was undeniably better lol, oh and so where the gentlmen, thats about all. :)

  • She nodded wisely. Yes, indeed. ;P

  • Yes, yes indeed. lol

  • I feel exactly the same!!! I wish to live in the 19th century!!

  • The man who invents the first workable time machine will be a very rich man, indeed. ;)

  • me too!!!

i love that era its just so elegant

  • elegant is the perfect word!

i dont know though, i do, undoubtably prefer it then to now.

but if i had a time machine i would go to the 60's!!!

    xxx

  • But the 60's were so scary... *hides under bed covers* xP I'd take a tour of my favorite periods. Medieval Europe until the lack of sanitation and religious wars threatened to kill me, then off to the Elizabethan period until the political intrigues got to be too stressful, and then Revolutionary America, finally ending in 1800's England to stay until the turn of the century. :)

  • i don't think they were scary so much as exciting!

i would have married jon lennon and stopped him from getting shot lol.

    =]

i like your tour idea though

    =D

    x

  • BEAUTIFUL! could you please tell me the name of the composer & the melody

  • Thank you. The opening title credits from the movie soundtrack to Dear Frankie, like it says in the description.

  • Very beautiful. I love this!

  • Just lovely!!! So nice to know that others appreciate these period pieces and the grace of such ladies. What about the March girls from Little Women? I greatly enjoyed that- thank you! And you and your friends fit in well :-)

  • I've had a few people ask about the March girls, and I plan on making another video to show my appreciation for them. :) Along with some other ladies of dignity that didn't make it into this one.

Thank you so very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • So Beautiful. Pure joy to watch. Thank you for making this delightful vid for us all to enjoy so much :) May I ask what is the lovely music please? fits so perfectly. Thanks Again :)
