yeah seriously wtf is with the audience--it totally looks like melbourne! im seeing them in sydney in 2 days and methinks im gonna reeeeally piss some people off if its like this cos ill be up the front jumping around like a total groupie :)
my god what an awful crowd. you should've seen the mosh pit when they played at siren festival over the summer. it was insane. but it seems british people just don't know how to react to such loud hardcore music, too busy reading that nme garbage.
The footage was taken from their appearance on 'The JD Set' (corporate branding of rock'n'roll, ach) and the audience were probably not fans of FOTL (the headline act were Australian indie-poppers Howling Bells) so they probably didn't know it was the end of the song. On the version on the JD site (with live audio) it does receive a modest cheer after a couple of seconds. I've seen FoTL in London and it was pretty rowdy in the mosh pit, I can tell you.
@auntiephos I'm pretty sure this is a music video...that's the album version of the song laid over a video of a live performance (hence the "(live music video)" in the song title).
To reiterate, there's no audience noise because this is a promotional video for the song and band using a video of one of their live performances.
@Ghost2867 Thank you, I had garnered that point (although I would take issue with calling it a 'live music video' when the actual music is not live). I was merely explaining why the audience in the video is very subdued compared to a normal FoTL crowd.
So much fun at Meredith

Why does it look like that guitar is missing strings... is it?
gryzlov 2 years ago
Just one. The A string is missing, and both the E and D strings are petty massive gauges.

Nice to see 4AD open its doors to smart music of all kinds.
This band would be worth seeing live only for the banter, and the songs are even better.
