Bluegrassers have been redoing Dylan songs for years. The former lead singer of this band(Died in 1996, God Bless ya John!) recorded the Dylan song, Baby Blue, with his first band, The Country Gentlemen. For my money, the Gentle are the greatest band ever, of any genre!
That was very special. Funny, I've listened to the Dylan version so often that I thought that it was the man who was sailing away. I still think that is the way it was written. still, that doesn't detract from this awesome performance. Thanks!!
This is a wonderful version!!! I loved this song from my first Dylan album.
Like Rcksaltnnails says It just doesn't get any better than this.
Nanci Griffith and Seldom Scene both take this great Dylan song to the top.
If you haven't played it yet there is a very nice version by anthonydacosta which is closer to Dylan's.
