  • I perfectly agree with you Brian...I started djing 7 years ago with Reloop players, then I bought 2 Pioneer cdj 800, then 2 cdj 400. Since 1 year I started mixing with a laptop but always with a real controller (first a Vestax VCI 300 and now a Pioneer ddj-s1)...the most important is to have a feeling with your audience and also with your music...you have to love your music to play it right...bye...

  • Hey Brian...I started Djing in the early 80's also @ 1982. I still collect vinyl and still use it today, but I also use CDJs and computers. I use iPods connected to the CDJ as all as DJ software. I agree 100% about the style, program and the reading of the crowd. Keep SPINNIN' and thanks for the vids!

  • too much bla bla bla... on this video brian.... thumbs up on lots of other videos...

  • Dislike! HA, it's satan himself. I like you Brian. Love your work. I just recorded all the instruments an entire Rock Album with HD Videos on my I-phone. Dance Re-mixes tomorrow. You can't discount this crazy new technology (it's just another tool). I started on Vinyl too. I still use all the old technology with the new. ........ I'd love to get your review on a song I recorded guitar and vocals - I'll be - originally by Edwin McCain. Click my name or search I'll be DJ/Guitarist Robert Navarre.

  • Amen!

  • believe it or not, people dislike video's to just dislike video's its not even against you

    :P

you bring up many interesting points, by the way i subscribed and thanks for the upload

  • Great Job Brian... I almost agree in all your videos...keep up the good work...

  • BRIAN! Can you plz post a video about programming and good djing software, I need help!

  • I have been watching your videos for over a year now

Your vids are always very informative and educational.

Wishing you and your family happy holidays.

    Peace

  • i think your a douch bag...lol jk i love you

  • He's right!

Playas gonna play, haters gonna hate... Just do your job right, doesn't matter what king of stuff you use to do it! And why not to learn how to DJ on decks, cds or controller?

  • I am just starting out as a dj I own a Numark Mixdeck and a set of Alto professionals powered 12 inch speakers and a laptop, Im buying music on cd`s and takeing them with me to gigs just incase my laptop crashes, I always have an emergency disc ready to go. I spend alot of time in my basement practicing and playing around with beat matching and so on. So hopefully in time Ill get good at it and be able to read crowds and figure out what they like.

  • I am sometimes bothered by computer only djs as well but I always tell the clients that when that computer goes down they will be lost. I have been a dj for 11 years so I started off with vinyl and I do use serato which of course is computer based but in one occasion my computer failed and in 30 seconds I had the cds running and the party continued. I am known as a decent dj and even though my transitions are not always perfect I dont need a screen to look at or a sync button for that matter.

  • p.s.... keep up the good work.

    Scratchh ... :)

  • In relation to this video. i agree it is about how you do it..

Here in Australia, every second teenager is a so called "superstar DJ" most of them starting with the Pioneer 350 pack..

With advances in technology anyone can dj, and anyone does. i feel a laptop dj needs at least some sort of mixer or midi control to stand out. with everyone having smart phone and ipad type devices. with the amount of DJ "apps" available, i think a physical controller is needed in order to look more pro.

  • dude.. the fact is, this "hater" is still obviously watching your videos.. if they really were a hater, they wouldn't bother watching. Kind of like a really bad commercial that everyone loves to discuss how much they dislike it.. its all exposure. In my opinion, your video's and committed effort towards this DJ community is a very valuable asset. I myself as both a mobile and club DJ have found your videos very helpful.

  • As usual Brian you hit the nail on the head. I really think other djs are critical of other djs and it happens. I went to a computer before most DJ's (That I know of) were using any form of a computer with PCDJ Red 5.2. I still get people amazed at how much music I have or that I use a Laptop... As long as you can read a crowd and know music great..... 1st rule I have when I train someone is that..

  • TBH i think there is a constant level of dislikes on all videos on youtube, a bit like backround interference and I reckon in this case it might be trolls

  • I know what your saying Brian! Your saying for people to grow some balls and talk to you like a person! I agree with that! I may start doing that with my account to get some input on my vids, why or why not someone like it! Keep up with the good vids and im glad to see your getting movement back! Keep on keepin on! Practice and N'Joy!

  • Why bother talking about the dislikes or expressing opinions on what people say about a computer DJ vs a Vinyl DJ and everything else in between. If you like what you do and you are happy doing it - why bother? Disabled the discussions completely. Do your things and call it a day. These comments and like/dislike buttons on Youtube or Facebook are just drama magnets. This is DJ subject matter fuck everything else.

  • Some where in everything you do in life, you can't please everyone! No matter how well you can ( or can't) read a crowd, psychology, or what ever it is you do or "use" to work or deal with people, somewhere, your going to plainly piss someone off, it's a part of life. Point is, long as you can work a good program regardless of what is between the music being played to point of actualy hearing it isn't the important part, long as others are having fun and profetional.

  • YOU CAN POINT NOW, PROPS ON PROGRESS!!

  • I agree with you Brian, DJing is not so much what equipment u are using, it's WHAT you play and when, reading your audience. Good DJ's have a greater power than the average songwriter, and can create songs, just like David Guetta is proving now as well.

  • Hey Brian, I have been following you for a few months now. I really appreciate your videos. I have been DJing for about 3 years. everything you said in this I totally agree with. God bless you man and Keep it up!

  • Right on Brian just had to sort out a playlist for my sisters wedding next weekend and had to try mixing quit a lot of bhangra music that's some hard programming mate.great to see your getting better "who you pointing at" lol Respect alway mate Tony

  • i couldnt agree more thanks to jldjuk for showing me this channle you are a pure inseration showing nomatter what condition or diablements you have you can continue to do the things you love in life :0) thankyou

  • is not a great stuff djing & mixing, most stuff its just the skill for mixing... not music. there is a difference between sonorious art, and music. i think dj work... is just overrated

  • I wouldn't give it another thought. With the number of views on your channel, the percentage of DIS-like's is well below one-half of one percent. I'd say BSR for president.

  • Great Vid Brian...Screw the dislike jerks...they will be to chicken sh*t to give you a reason why. Keep up the good work Brian and Thanks for all the help.

Dj Johnny Garcia, Fort Worth, Tx

  • Ignore the punks

  • Good idea on disabling the like/dislike but i would also prefer if people who liked a video would also say why they liked it...........

  • I've never heard a non-dj complain about someone mixing with the sync button, but I constantly hear people complain about a DJ who can't put two good songs together to save his life. Technical skills are helpful, but having good taste and reading your crowd is so much more important.

  • @complexprocess2 This is so true. I've DJd everything from clubs to weddings to kids parties and the only thing that is consistent in every crowd is the ability to choose the right songs. Mixing is easy nowdays anyway, choosing the right songs in the right order is the real skill behind DJing.

  • You made a great comeback Bro! Don't worry about the haters, they will always be out there! Tell them to fuck off. You are trying to help DJs in our industry my man! I look forward to all your new videos! An old man can always learn new tricks and you have helped me through your videos! Good job Bro!

  • I for one love the new technology now a days! No more having to carry around those 30 lbs dinosaurs called turntables.

  • Luv ya bro! Great video Brian! :)

  • There's a big difference between using a laptop to mix & needing a laptop to mix. Hell, I use flash drives on cdj's. To each his own though, every dj knows what they're really capable of.

  • @DJAbstract951 What's that difference? From the audiences perspective, that is

  • @briansredd everybody has their own opinion , but i think you AND jonathan are great communicators . ive been djayin for 7 years nearly 8 and i started on cdjs but now i use a laptop and controller . i found my eyes gettin crappy in the dark . and switched to a laptop and a controller. its opened up my creativity even tho im a cheesy dj and you know what? i dont give a flyin rats ass. im a good crowd reader and i rarely have a totally empty dance floor. you are right.

  • "It should like science fiction" - perfect analogy. When customer sees your gear, they should think to themselves - "wow, this is something I have never seen before" that adds "value" and your customer appreciates that.

  • I'm pointing at you oh wait I'm on my iPod reminding and pausing on your turntable desk!!!

  • Brian, your videos are awesome. Learned a lot about dmx through your videos. As for the haters, who cares. We'll never make everyone happy. I'll do the laptop anyday over the endless crates of records and 12inch singles I've carried over the years.I think using a laptop, we are able to provide a better service to our clients.

  • Screw them. I started like you. The days of vinyl had us carrying 10 crates of records and a coffin. Everyone is streamlining these days, and so are we. The service is the same.. or even better!

  • its not the format or the machines its how good you are djs can use turntables with timecodes and a computer ultimately its the djs abilities that matter

  • its your girl hitting dislike lol

  • i think ifyour doing mobile like at a wedding is ok with a laptop. but i personlly think a club dj should be putting in work like cdjs or vinly with a dj program like serato, torq, traktor

  • I always like your videos, haters are gonna hate... Its just a bit sad that they feel they have to do it anonymously... Keep up the good work

    Danny

P.s. Video coming soon on the ADJ H20 DMX Pro that i won in the Most Memorable Gig contest :)

  • I agree, haters going to hate. And it is easier to hide behind a user name/ the internet.

  • Haters are always going to hate.

Firstly, don't worry about the very small minority of haters. You will never ever please everyone not matter how hard you try.

Secondly, the gear only offers an easier way to play music. The real DJ skill come in crowd reading and know what to play, when to play it and for how long. A real DJ with skills will always be needed.

Finally, to remain relevant and successful, you have to keep up with technology. Hating on laptops will see you lose gigs and fans.

  • Awesome No more douchebags. :)

Started on vinyl never really liked it . Dust on the needles needs constant cleaning , records need cleaning frequently. Skipping when floor bounced. feedback through needle cartridge. Cueing records time consuming. Large bulky record boxeswhich kept your record collections to a few hundred. easy scratched, warped in the heat...Not sure why there is a love of vinyl compared to digital formats like CD /MP3 . The most important part for me is a decent recording

  • FUCK the haters Brian !!

    You rock bro !!

  • We as djs should worry about if we can progam, and get the crowd dancing and put on a good show. The people that booked you don't care if your using virtual dj, or a vcr, they just want good music.

  • Get some sleep brian

  • Fair play Brian - you've helped so many DJ's - me included, I can't believe that some people disrespect you.

    Bless you fella, cheers

  • Up and Coming DJs here is a tip........Please please learn how to mix, program, and please don't just hook up a 1/8 in to rca or xlr to your computer and play your Itunes. Practice the craft don't butcher it (DJ M.I.S.C.)

  • @650SURPRIZE really easy to say without some validity from said person. What you say is true, but dont end up like the rest who speak ahead of themselves. We get it already.

  • @wgarrlnhs05 I don't mean to speak ahead of myself at all just stating some friendly advice. Cheers

  • @650SURPRIZE Cheers mate.

  • i like your videos brian ive watched everyone and its helped me loads with my djing

keep up the good work mate hope to see you next year at bpm 2012

  • hahaha your awesome brian.... "i havent seen my hater dislike my video... i hope they're ok... hahaha

  • Its a combination of Programming, Skills & Equipment. You may have the best equipment money can buy & be great at programming but if you have poor skills that can let you down. Just like you maybe the best beatmatcher on the planet but if you can't program & your equipment ain't up to par you will crash n burn. So if you work on those three things you don't have to do them all at once give it time you will be a better dj for it. & don't be afraid to ask for help & be open to advice.

  • @DjTRex08 I tend to disagree with your suggestion that the inability to beat match can really cause that much damage. It's nice to be able to do propperly & does bring you to the next level, but not something that overshadows programing. Way too many DJs put far too much emphases on beat matching. The dirty little secret is matching 2 beats together isn't THAT hard to do, where programing is a much more valuable skill.

  • @briansredd I probably could have worded it better maybe not used the word beatmatching? Seaway, transition from song to song you can lose the flow. Thats what I was kinda getting at. You know when you bring a song in to loud or you start it to soon or too late or you bring it in off beat. Can really throw the audience out . I wasn't trying to play down programming at all. But any dj that can't string to song together beatmatching or not is gonna have a tough night.

  • @DjTRex08 Avoiding dead air & operating a mixing board's volume control isn't that difficult. However, playing the right songs at the right time in the right order is a real valuable skill. I know people who have been DJing for years who still program like an amateur. They still get hired by people who don't know better, but I'm a Hell of a lot more in demand than they are

  • @briansredd Brian what exactly do you mean by 'program'? I think beatmatching is an essential part of DJ'ing, personally. I DJ House/ Garage, and there's no reason to not beatmatch. If you're pressing 'sync' or just playing one tune after the other ends, you're cheating yourself out of half of what DJ'ing means. It takes real skill to beatmatch perfectly all the time, DJ EZ never 'clangs', even when he's going crazy messing about with effects on the mixer etc. That's skill.

  • @MrMikkiFunk When you think of music "Programing", think of what the program director does at a radio station: They select the songs that the radio station will play in rotation that they feel will best keep thier audience's attention. If they program poorly, they won't keep as many listeners. If they do it better than anyone in town, they will be #1 in town

  • @MrMikkiFunk So, to put it in the simplest terms I can think of, what I'm saying is that today, it's most important that you play the right songs. Beat Mixing CAN be important, but it isn't the most important bit ESPECIALLY if a computer can assist in that skill for you. What a computer can't do for you is program your sets. That's a skill you need to actually posess to be an effective DJ

  • @briansredd Sure, I said beatmatching is essential, I didn't mean its the most important part. So by programming i guess you mean song choice? That is incredibly important, if not the most important. The wrong track or wrong vibe can clear a dancefloor. But then again, there's also nothing that ruins the fluidity of a set like shit beatmatching. Imo, I don't think computers should be allowed to assist a dj with ANYTHING, it just encourages laziness to be honest.

  • @briansredd To add to my last comment; if you're a dj that plays all genre's, then song choice/ ability to 'read' the crowd, is essential, not necessarily beatmatching. However if you are a DJ that playes 1 or 2 genre's that can be beatmatched together easily, e.g. dubstep & dnb, or house & garage, then I think beatmatching is pretty much almost as important as crowd reading or song choice. To reinforce my point, you will not find a house or garage dj that doesn't beat match, it's unheard of.

  • Programming is the key regardless of the equipment the tracks are played on.

  • So its cool that DJ's like you are being fair and understandable to those who dont have much. I feel like as long as you're (people in general) legit in what you do, you can do it with a many or few equipment as you need. Thanks again. Awesome videos and will continue to watch.

  • Hey, Thanks a lot for posting this topic in your videos. I'm an aspiring DJ who just started over the summer and I can't afford to buy equipment right now. All I have is a Laptop, Virtual Dj, USB Sound Card for cueing, and the necessary cables for speakers and such. I would say that in a short time I've done really well being able to DJ without turntables/cdj's, but I feel like everyone has their humble beginnings.

  • Thanks for the video Brian, I think you are pretty fair to everyone in your videos so no one should be disliking you.

    Don't Hate, Congratulate!

  • Hi B, thanks for the video... U do make a great point... Let's see how this experiment works for u! ... And if the Like button was activated for this video ... I would've click on it! Haha!

  • Like, Like, Like! Go Brian!

  • Hey Bri,

Sorry you got to deal with this kind of negative BS. I know plenty of DJ that's think the world of you. ( Me included)Thank you for all you do!

  • AWESOME BRIAN!!

  • hello brian

why do these tow guy dislike, they can choose not to see your video or even unscribe to your channel. when i started listening to your vedio i love them. I can wait to see your video and when you named me one of the winners of ADJ most memorable did gig, i was honerd you said my name, lisaart02 and you sugested the red headphones "that was awsome" I have the same problem at work and when i send e-mail to the district the store directors hate me i am just trying to help others

  • Brian, Thanks for your videos. I have subscribed for years now and I have to tell you that you aren't the only DJ I subscribe to but you are the only one I make it a point to watch every video that you produce. As you know from Facebook I lost a lot of equipment when the May 22nd EF5 tornado hit my house in Joplin, MO I am slowly replacing it and most of it has been what you recommended. Every purchase so far has been a good one.

  • I'm not too big on the dislike button either, I try not to press it ever-- I just stop watching the video, and avoid clicking on it in the future.

From what I understand, though, is that the like and dislike buttons influence your youtube search results as well as suggested videos. I will 'like' a video if I want to see more videos with similar tags, titles or descriptions. similar to the thumbs up and thumbs down on pandora.

  • missed out VDj

  • I use winamp with sax and dotty for karaoke shows. Why? Because it is stable and has low requirements and sax & dotty has a great interface for karaoke. Now if I am just DJing a wedding or not doing a karaoke show then its VDJ. Why? Because of the cool video effects and some of the reasons Brian mentioned. Good video Brian, I would have clicked "like".

  • hi brian , the only thing i hate is people who say they can dj but just uses one channel of audio and itunes ( no mixing ) or people use just use virtual dj and the auto mix button , there is no skill there . thanks for posting. and one other thing did you see grand master flash at bpm , i though he was assume

  • like

  • you constantly talk about the importance of programing. would you care to do a video explaining as much as possible about programing. i know for me the gear is no problem but programing is something i struggle with.

  • @conatuslife Programing is a tough skill to attempt to teach in a video. It has to do with people, what they like, what modivates them, and what the most effective songs are to play for them in the most effective order. There's lots of Psyce & Soc involved along with a boatload of artistry & personality. So, I can't really teach someone how to program. Best I could probably do is give you some things to think about, study & observe

  • Brian get back in step. exercise that arm. walk your fingers up and down the wall and come show your dislike fans, a good old American good luck sign. I like your vlogs and appreshiate all. all event are ment to be fun. no matter how you do it. you cann't stop a little kid from dancing to no music.

  • Hey Brian - I agree with you about computer DJ's. WHO CARES how you deliver the music as long as it gets the crowd up. People need to be more open minded... I use nothing but a computer when Djing........ Good Vid

  • Hey Brian - I agree with you about computer DJ's. WHO CARES how you deliver the music as long as it gets the crowd up. People need to be more open minded... I use nothing but a computer when Djing........ Oh and by the way, I not only commented on this video but I also clicked the LIKE button!!! LOL

  • I bet its jonathan and angello.

  • People LOVE you. Even Jesus had haters. You do you the best you can. Your flaws if any are minor. I've been a DJ as long as you and you INSPIRE me and others I have talked to. Two haters out of..thousands who love you....GREAT job Brian!!! God bless your health and thanks for sharing your knowledge and opinions.

  • Hey Bri...I like your vids even if I dont agrree with you, thats rarely though, and as for the purists..haha..Ive noticed they are people who were born just after 1992 and just discovered the wax..I started in 1984 myself and I know all about carrying milk crates full of records...I prefer midi controller and a laptop any day and keep the nostalgia (Technic 1200) at home..take care hermano de otra madre..:)

  • I've been DJing for quite a few years and totally agree with you. I've evolved over the years going from records to cd's to my midi controller. All in all the only thing my clients worry about is whether or not I keep their guests dancing and entertained. The only people I've caught any ire from are other DJ's that site the whole "PURITY" of the artform. Maybe I should just change my title to the Jaimaican name for DJ. From now on just refer to me as a "Music Selector" Keep up the great work.

  • Spoken like a true professional Brian!!... I had a music store owner ask me what I do once. I told him that I have been a mobile DJ for almost 10 years. His response "Mobile DJ huh...so you show up to a gig 10 minutes before it starts with a laptop and 2 powered speakers and count your money when you get home?" .. I wanted to respond with a punch to the throat, but instead I replied with "No, I have a conscience."

  • Very well said brian, always a pleasure watching your videos. I have personally watched DJ's just sit there, dump a bunch of music in a playlist on VDJ and hit automix and let it go for the night. I recently bought a midi controller and VDJ and brought my shows to a whole new level. I am all for "laptop DJ's" if you take the time to learn it and do it right. I am sure there were haters when CD's first came out too...

  • Comment removed

  • hey B, i have started disabling the like/dislike buttons on my vidz now...FUCK HATERZ!!

  • +1

  • Tribal Crew Djs Love You Brian!!!!!! My Crew Is Always Appreciate Of Your Videos & Help With The Info You Give Us

  • Great vid. Great experiment.

  • I'm going to like the video even though it has been disabled :P

    What's your FB?! I have a few questions :)

  • I like your videos Brian, you've helped me a lot as far as DJing is concerned. To be honest, I look up to you man.

  • You are 100% Right, I feel music is not all about just playing somthing, there is a reason for it, and there is a reason for disliking a video

  • hi brian i have someone on my video who straight away dislikes them wish youtube was like facebook and you could see who likes them or these people to take the time and effort and put a video up instead of disliking it keep up the good work gary

  • Dont let those LOSERS bother you Brian...You have taught more people how to be better DJs than you will ever know. Your vids are not meant to please everyone, thats exactly why they are so great, you dont let what other people think or say influence your videos and that makes you special because there are other on here that do. I would like to give you a personal THANK YOU for all your help in making my business better than it would have been without your videos... Keep Up The Great Work Bro!!!

  • Brian, never mind the trolls. The majority of your youtube audience are mature enough to appreciate what you do. Keep up the good work.

  • You are my idol as a person, Brian :) Thank You for Your videos. I can really learn a lot from You :)

  • I like your vídeos, that's why I subscribe. About the shadow guys, don't spend your time chasing the answers. Some people are just like that and we better move on and don't care, just like the song " don't worry, be happy". You're cool to me. Keep it up!

  • A lot of clowns out there that think theyre the shit, youre an idiot, or both. Thats why I disabled the like dislike on my vids also cause hatred is much more open and pushed than support and love. Many people will think oh this is great etc and not even press like so why bother. I like your vids, usually watch them, even if they are irrelevant and if I like something that I want to mention, or disagree with something, i comment cause I believe in what I have to say and others can say something.

  • Warning: Whoever dislikes the video will be surgically castrated!

  • The Vinyl, CD, Laptop argument is still so strong in the uk normally by Djs that dont use a laptop for the reason they say or they just dont know anything about them. I took much longer than most to go over to CD from Vinyl in fact only when i really had to as Singles were not generally available. so i wasnt long really with CDs but now im with laptops, one with Mix meister one with serrato itch. You would think as pros we would mirror how the masses purchase and hold there music?

  • When i first tried controllers and the software honestly i didnt think they were up for it but now i make sure i have 2, laptops running as backup and i do take an sd card with enough music on ( I have an american audio mixer Q sd record mixer) I would say the equipment doesnt make the DJ! In fact when i used to have to look for tracks i hated doing requests now the customer, if appropriate can have it next track!

  • I, like you, don't really care as long as they can perform. I also don't agree with the iTunes, winamp kids!!

It should never look like they picked it all up at Wal Mart!!

  • Been a Dj since 20 Y/o , also played records, boy , was that hard in a way, to carry you equipment to gig's. done bar's, too. sometimes the pay suck. I too remember those times. new years eve party's was the best. Now as I'm getting old, harder to fine work. I'm going to be 54 in Dec and still doing this or at least trying with demon equipment and doing mp3 's on a very small computer that I take with me , as well an cd's..feel I'm burn out ..no work for the older dj's but love what I do.

  • i just hate dj's who stand there and press play with a SYNC button, if its somebody using somthing like serato who is acctully beatmatching and not staring at the screen like a tool then thats ok, but idiots who rely on sync buttons, bpm readouts and dont even use headfones (using the screen to cue) are just lazy!

  • @TrowbridgeHardcore We had this debate on the Crossfader Show when I was in California about a month ago. Personally, I'm fine with a Sync button as long as, you guessed it, you CAN program. It's cool you dislike it, but the thing is the vast majority of non-DJs at the party or the client who hires a DJ could care less. That's something I feel only other DJs give a crap about

  • @briansredd yup i see your point exactly, but it just winds me up that i took time and effort learning to time and beatmatch etc when you see people mixing without headphones and using the screen to cue, and making out there a super skilled dj thus making decent £££ but lets face it the vast majority of consumers arnt bothered.

  • @TrowbridgeHardcore The other side of this whole thing is that if you ARE a great mixing DJ, you most likely have a better understanding of how things work, can go together, etc. You will be able to do more trick stuff than the average sync button DJ. I wouldn't write it off as a "dead art" because it's way far from anything like that. It's just not what is considered a nessessary skill or an unusual thing anymore

  • I agree with you. I would add: what dj's should care the most is the music they play. Expensive gear doesn't make people wanna dance, but it makes you look good in front of the people you work for. Regards.

  • Very good video. Being a good DJ is not as easy as it looks; it takes time to master the skill. You can worry about people with the dislike; there are people out there who are miserable and they want to make everyone else unhappy. On my other youtube channel about iphone backgrounds, people call me all kinds of names like fag for no reason at all. I don't take it personal, I just laugh at their ignorance. all the best with your health.

  • you are a douche bag but i love you!! Lol just kidding your the fucking man brian!! You have taught me so much i have table topper, skrims, all around a cleaner set up because of your videos....also have learned how to program from you! You da man keep it comin homie.

  • @briansredd, People who dislike are for the most part are envious. It takes a person of confidence and comfort in their craft to stick a camera in their face for more than a minute and make and informative and entertainer video. Those people who find to dislike and not have the balls to say why are cowards.

  • I like it anyway

  • Brian, i'm not even a DJ, but I love to watch your videos. Keep rocking, bud!

  • It is sad that those haters either just dislike for the sake of disliking or really don't like your subject, content, whatever. If you can't be mature enough to comment on Brian's videos, go back to playing with your toys and being a kid. When you grow up enough to really bring something to the table, I'll look forward to reading your feedback, positive or negative. A true professional is always open to all feedback. Grow up and speak your mind! You're a class-act Bro!

  • Never pressed dislike on one of your videos because I generally love what you do, and I have learned a lot from you over the years. Though I will use this as an opportunity to say that I feel like sometimes your reviews of American Audio stuff seem an awful lot like sales pitches - would be cool to hear about the down sides to their gear as well.

  • @SnapAEng Thing is, I focus on the positives. Just because I don't get it dosen't mean someone else won't. Having said that, if I ever get any product from anyone that is IMO rubbish, I'll just choose not to do a video on it.

  • @briansredd That type of review is misleading and, is indeed, nothing more than a sales pitch. Unless, of course, you state upfront that you're trying to sell the product, instead of doing an honest review. I think it really affects your credibility when you review new products, and when you give any equipment related advice. That said, it's still useful to have such videos on YouTube, especially for products that aren't sold in local stores, it's just not as useful as it could be.

  • @iamroma I hope you know i don't really care if you buy whatever i show or not. I never tell people to buy... anything really. All i'm trying to do is show you some new products and what i like about them. Not sure if you entended to or not, but you just attacked my character by calling me dishonest and misleading. My video style may not be for you, and that's cool. If that's how you feel, I'd suggest find a source that you feel you can trust and not waste your time on my stuff

  • @briansredd I love it man, keep kickin' ass and there are more of us loving your work then hating!!! Love, Peace, and Hairgrease...DJ Malarky out. born 1965 still love vinyl, now loving laptops lol.

  • @briansredd You're taking this too hard. I am not calling your dishonest or misleading, because you're obviously a nice guy, but your review videos come across that way, because they are clearly promotional videos, rather than reviews. Those who look to you for advice, will not get the whole story on a product, and might therefore subsequently regret their purchase. Perhaps, that may be obvious to some, but I still think you should be more transparent about it, and mention it in the video.

  • I dislike this video Bekause I kant hit the like Button

  • I always will like your vids brian. everyting i know i learnd it from u your the best

  • Guess guys just hate what you own. They think they're better then you but they don't have the correct attitude. I always say to be a good DJ, have good social skills and try to like as many people as possible. If you don't you don't. No big deal. But don't be a troll and dislike people and not show who you are.

  • In this f-up world it's considerd cool to hate on popluar stuff. That's why we got trolls!

  • I want to touch on one of your subjects i had a an old DJ freind of mine did it in the 80's come up to my rig and at first blush thought it was or looked easy, until he really took a look at my hardware and software " where the hell do you start"

at first blush us laptop DJ's make it look easy until you take a look at what we do.

i love to read the crowd and play with them, my favorite is how do you know that song.ha ha ha

  • Of all the time ive been subscribed to you and Johnathans video's. I have never left a comment. So i use all 3 mediums, CD, Vinyl and computer, i do club nights and mobile djing with a friend of mine. I think aslong as you know the theory behind djing what does it matter of the equipment you use.

  • It drives me nuts when I see a DJ using iTunes or Windows Media Player. It makes the rest of us look bad.

  • Aaaaw I want to "like" it so bad..! Perfect points brian, keep it up! :]

  • much love :) love these videos

  • Brian you stole the words in my mind THaNKS SO MUCH!!!

  • We all need to embrace technology, who in their right mind would want to lug 5 or 10 cases of 12" records to each gig. Go out into you garage, pick up a couple of cases run them into your house and them climb the stairs. Now try it with a 1TB hardrive instead. Case closed !

  • Thats is so true about appearance of gear behind the booth.I've had people look stunned by seeing everything lit up and commenting that it looks very expensive. Its more shocking to a few who have thought it was just going to be a home stereo equipment til they see it and the look on their face is priceless...Tried the laptop for 2 hours once but didn't like it so I have now 6 CD players and love it with the mixer..I find I can do more now with them..Great vid! Cheers!

  • Isn't that the goal achieved ?

  • Grr stupid iPad lol, I believe it's not the tools that we use it's how we deliver to the audience, our sole purpose is to entertain, to energize and to inspire our audiences, through the dj art form. This bickering about vinyl or cd or traktor is as you said all between dj's and ultimately if the audience enjoys whatever it is that you are doing no matter what type of delivery method you choose then that i

  • I honestly believe that the art form just as with a painter or sculptor is more than how we produce what we produce it's how

  • Can't use the the "Like" , so LIKE LIKE LIKE!!!!!!

  • Hello,

I was wondering when is your next DJ class video appearing?

    Thanks

    flh8

  • Brian,

"Some men, just want to watch the world burn"

I can see random people dislike a video just because no one else has yet, regardless of what they think of the content.

  • Great video. Keep up the great work. I wish you the best in your recovery.

  • Tehe, who's not trying to be jonothan really though, that guy is a legend! But this is a negative comment, dont know why... but i thought i'd leave a negative comment here.... so.... NEGATIVE! :P Don't change yourself though brian, your video's from blogs to product reviews are entertaining and i enjoy watching them all, keep up the good work! :)

  • I like all your videos. Always interesting. I also wish you the best on your recovery.

  • Hi Brian, nice to meet you at BPM. looking forward to next time. Anyway Ive been DJing for 40 years and started with 2xgrundig tape decks lol. Then progressed through records to cd,s and now I love my laptop and controller. yep Im now digital, but after 40 years does that mean Im no longer a proper DJ,, I think not lol. keep up the great work mate, ignore the idiots out there.. cheers for now mate.. DJMotty Bulgaria.

  • I fully agree with you.

There is no way, to compare Computer DJs, CD DJ-s, or Vinyl DJ-s. Technologies are different, and the performances are different.

And for people, who think that laptop DJing is and esy thing to do: As long as you think so, you will be: a playlist, and your tool is the kayboard the mouse and the software ONLY

Without te love of music and the love of the crowd - you will be just one ant in the big hive...

  • I like...

  • with that thing ,maybe it will work!i want to see you more happy and not sow preocupate with people who won t butter!PRACTICE AND ENJOY!HEHE here in Europe it is trying to snowing already! How it s there?

  • Dj.GabrieLU here my freind!Wau about dislike or like ,yes i get the point and i am totaly agreed with you ,but there stupid kids or stupid person out there, who are simply evil and that s it !We knew what you do it s is 99 general good sow ,don t waste your energy with them please! They don t even have a soul to share and no general purpose in life ,they only chare about money in their pokets or other malecious things.I please don t upsead to me but maybe it s better trying a chinese nerv terapy
