I really like the Pirates of the Caribbean films and video games just not this since it seems the whole ride now centers on Jack Sparrow which i think now ruins the original ride
I found that when I went on the ride post-change, the Captain of the attacking ship not only had Captain Barbossa voicing it, but it was dressed like Captain Barbossa. But when I went back either later that year or the next, he was the pirate with the long blond hair again. Anybody else notice that?
The additions Captain Barbossa and Captain Jack Sparrow made this ride even more awesome, except for the fact they center the plotline around him now.
I love how the original puppets of the ride are the typical stereotyped pirates with patches, peglegs and skulls on their hats while no pirate in the movies are like that.
I'm playing this song,"Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me)" on the piano this week. I'm going on this ride for Spring Break this year with my parents. We leave on Sunday March 27 and we'll return on Thursday March 31.

Here's a theory. Since the villain in the next POTC film is Blackbeard, I wouldn't be surprised to see him added to the ride in the near future. My guess is that he could be the pirate overseeing the dunking of the mayor.
No way, man. Currently, the pirate overseeing the mayor's dunking is a cameo to Captain Hook and Mr. Smee from Peter Pan. Walt meant it to be that way... but, if they've screwed everything else up, why not...

I did this great impersonation of Carlos' wife that my friend/cousin-in-law, Matt McMurphy mentioned about last night was the line that she said was, "Do NOT tell him,Carlos. Don't be cheeeken!" and the shutters are slammed clothes. Matt did a good scream effect.
You and I both! What are your favorite scenes and characters? My favorite scenes are: the rum drinking skeleton, Well scene/Mayor dunking scene and Bill the pirate with the cats. My favorite character is Carlos' wife/the Magistrate's lady. Elizabeth Swann-Turner is my favorite character,too. However, she doesn't appear in the dark ride. We see her dress just as we're heading into the Jail scene where 3 prisoners are coaxing a small dog.

You were? I'm sorry to hear that. When I was a little girl before Davy Jones,Captain Hector Barbossa and Captain Jack Sparrow were added up as new additions, I was scared to death of Captain Blackbeard that is NOW removed from the cannon scene where you smell cannon smoke and you get wet on the socks,upper lip and more other parts of the body from the cannons. It scared the shit out of me,I must tell you.
There are 2 drops but its not high..... I guess there is no age limit but the ride itself is really dark so maybe you have to be careful of your daughter to not to cry orelse it will be annnoying for other guests
Thanks, she ended up loving it. In fact out of all the rides pirates was all she could talk about it. Off topic, My trip was really bad, every ride I went on stopped midway through the ride. I dont know if they were short staffed on maintenance but it was bad.

Havent been there yet, Im going again for my B-day in December and will definitely visit both. I want to check out its a bugs life, toy story mania, monsters Inc, the Alladin musical, and take my daughter to ariels grotto. I hope the rides run better during my next visit. I really dont care for feeeling like im gonna fall out of my seat, so I stay away from splash mountain, though I hear they added safety belts, so mabye next time, LoL

My mom felt a powerful blast of water coming out of the cannons when I sat with her and my dad in the front of the boat. I felt a tiny bit of water from the cannons in the water by the Wicked Wench ship go on to my leg up to my knee NOT my thigh.
everytime I ride this I be laughin so hard cuz when you go down the first drop you hear yo ho. and everybody be singin the song all they know is yo ho yo ho a pirate life for me and thats it they be mumblin the rest. lol.
When I went on this ride with my parents last month in the Spring, I saw that there wasn't an Audio-Animatronic of a crab, skeletal pirate with the sword in his back, and/or the Audio-Animatronic of a donkey in the stable.
However,I tend to agree with that grp of disney fans who were disappointed and a bit saddened by the blatant additions from the films who feel a "classic" was messed with too much.
I think this is the best Pirates ride vid that i've seen so far. Great editing! I luckily got to ride the ride in 2007 after it was updated and I completely loved it. The Davy Jones thing was my fave. Also, i love your Haunted Mansion vid too. Added both of them to my favorites. Pirates and Haunted Mansion are, in fact, my favorite rides.
I just recently noticed this line from the Jack at the end: "...villainy, larceny, skullduggery, and persnickety..." Cracked me right up. I tried repeating it to someone who hadn't heard 'persnickety' before. Totally over their head. = P

I saw the making of the Jack Sparrow robot (bonus features on the DVD of Dead Man's Chest)
With normal daylight you can really see how realistic the robot looks. It's just scary. You look at him and you think "Ow, what's Johnny doing here?"
The voice of the robot is Johnny's voice. He recorded his own dialogue.

The guns still freak me out, I'm 12. But I just hate like loud noises, I don't know why though. But other than that its my favorite ride at Disneyland I can go on it like 10 tiems or more and never get tired of it.

I first rode Pirates in June of 1967 and it is in my opinion The Imagineers finest work. Hats off to all involved in it's creation.

Me,too! I love the Well scene with Carlos' wife, Carlos the Latin mayor/magistrate in the well and other people at the scene of the location which is Isla Tesoro and Bill the drunk pirate with the cats. What kind of scenes do you like from the ride, Pirates Of The Caribbean?

My mom felt a powerful blast of water coming out of the cannons when I sat with her and my dad in the front of the boat. I felt a tiny bit of water from the cannons in the water by the Wicked Wench ship go on to my leg up to my knee NOT my thigh.

When I went on this ride with my parents last month in the Spring, I saw that there wasn't an Audio-Animatronic of a crab, skeletal pirate with the sword in his back, and/or the Audio-Animatronic of a donkey in the stable.

However,I tend to agree with that grp of disney fans who were disappointed and a bit saddened by the blatant additions from the films who feel a "classic" was messed with too much.

I think this is the best Pirates ride vid that i've seen so far. Great editing! I luckily got to ride the ride in 2007 after it was updated and I completely loved it. The Davy Jones thing was my fave. Also, i love your Haunted Mansion vid too. Added both of them to my favorites. Pirates and Haunted Mansion are, in fact, my favorite rides.

A dark ride this complex usually takes about 10-12 takes and generally 3 weeks to edit the video and pick my best audio.

One of my favorite parts of this ride is the talking Skull. What did it say from 2:07 to 2:59? Arrrrr! This is my #1 favorite ride in Disney Land.
