Just for the record, this happens on a daily basis and on alternating days during the colder months.
Regardless, there will always be veterans on parade. I'm talking about the brave servicemen who have seen hell in Afghanistan, lost comrades and friends, have been wounded in battle and are generally people who deserve a lot of respect.

Respect? In what way? The problem is that although I recognise that they have a very hard time in Afghanistan, have been wounded, and have lost comrades, I absolutely disagree with what they do and their role. I find the idea of the military displaying themselves in public to be quite repugnant, other than seeing those who have died being remembered as losses to society and wasted lives.
Hahahaha They're playing the theme from the Wild Geese!

@whosdadaddie
Oh finally, thank you!
Why do the drummers not have a curb chain across their helmet while the flautists do?
Also, the New Guard behind the band aren't from the RGBW right? I hope I wasn't completely wrong.

@emptyangel
Oh wait it's so that they can play properly.

Assuming the video was taken around the time it was uploaded, it should be the The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment.
Very confusing, since both Corps of Drums look identical.
My head hurts.

@emptyangel
I still think it's the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment, please clarify.

It's not, the last thing I want to see is the government's lackeys with their guns passing by every week.

It comes down to the 300 year old tradition of Changing the Guard.
Which in a way is honouring the Guards and the various other regiments who have been given the privilege to guard the Sovereign's Palaces.
I don't think the level of respect should change just because of the decisions the government makes.
emptyangel 2 years ago 5
But the military ARE the government. And they do as the 'government of the period' demands.
Pommit 2 years ago
Well in the case of the Guards they're loyal to the Crown.
