AL Kooper.. and the 1st BS &T what a group, what an album... "I gotta hear you say its all right ... I could be president of General Motors, or just a tiny grain of sand..."
... how things have changed... Blessings to BS & T (I have to admit I think the second album with David Clayton Thomas is also a winner... the arrangements are out of sight... and 'God Bless the Child' and 'Sometimes in Winter' are wonderful... anyway, thanks guys.
president of GM fired then GM went bankrupt. I wonder what Al Cooper thinks about his lyrics. Could be a great marketing tool for him to use in PR campaign
Many thanks for this "video". Love the lava lamps----how fitting for the period! I can just imagine the water pipe made from an old jug wine bottle and some pilfered chemistry lab components from school!
When I was growing up in the '60's, my dad was a jazz trumpet player who hated rock'n'roll. Then in '69, he came home with the Beatles "Abbey Road" and this BS &T album and had our whole family listen to them, and we were hooked. I listened to both albums at least a thousand times. My dad became a Beatles, Santana, Rare Earth and Blood, Sweat and Tears freak and grew his hair long. Excellent song. I forgot how great it is. Brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting it.
At last an Al Kooper song with his vocals. I've got the original vinyl and a Japanese CD of this first BS&T LP. Nice LP cover too and that fuzz guitar is just amazing. Who plays it? Kooper or Steve Katz? Sax solo ain't half bad either (Fred Lipsius I presume). Now gimmee "Megan's Gyspy Eyes", "I can't Quit Her" and "My Days are Numbered". Nice lava lamp too just like mine - wish I had two but then my son has one too. One of the best non-band vids I've ever seen on here. Grats and thanx.
Hey (:
Please tell me what do you think of my band's cover to this song :P

This was the best of BS&T, long before Spinning Wheel, and 'Lucretia McEvil' back when they were excellent.
