Well, there's a rule (unofficially called "the NT rule") that says a group can't win more than 3 years in a row. So, NT started going every other year. 2003 was an "off" year, and 2004. 05 was an exhibition because people found out we were going and pulled out. I think they finally went back to compete in like 2008? I'm not sure.. I was gone by 2006.
I don't know for sure... They weren't there in 2002. I do know that they are pretty involved in WGI, which is a bit of a different beast. I liked PASIC because it was less about drama and choreography and more about straight drummin!
Call me crazy, but if it's a video of a drumline don't you think it would be a good idea to encode the sound in such a way that people can actually, you know, hear the drums?
YES! Also, you have to remember that it was 2002, the video was shot by the Timpani player's dad, and the room this was in was MASSIVE. Consumer digital conversion wasn't as good as it is now.
Nick Werth was center tenor of course, then Mike and me. I think we called ourselves the Trifecta. If you look closely at 7:40 , you can see Nick's infamous "skipjacks" as one of our visuals, haha. Good times.
That's awesome dude, Nick is a funny guy. Your user name is also hilarious, did one of your teachers suggest that, or was this a self-realization? Most of us did overhype everything when we were in HS though, it was fun when you could get away with it.
haha i am quite often being told to chill a little bit, but im usually aware haha we have a larger line this year though so i guess no more monster-shots for me :(
why didn't UNT compete after 2002?
