  • This brings back memories

  • great song pity its about a religion that is made up by man

  • @myfacevids The Old and New Testaments are the most historically authenticated works of antiquity. The Dead Sea Scrolls show that The OT has not changed in thousands of years. We have manuscripts of the entire NT from the Second Century AD and parts of it dating to the late First Century. How have you arrived at your conclusion?

  • @DocWashburnMornings

How the hell does having an old book correlate to proving the existence of a supernatural, omnipotent entity?

    You IDIOT.

  • @DocWashburnMornings you only proof that the bible was rewritten very well and secure but not that it was not made up by man, as an agnost i am not saying it's a lie but its simply no proof

  • Wow long time ago..good memories in 1997. Mom&dad we miss you.

  • This song makes me feel like I'm a foot away from Heaven's doorstep. Can't get any closer than that on earth. :)

  • The strings are amazing!

  • SEX.

  • I am a believer but i hate the organized religion, but i am also a sinner so i feel so frail...maybe I Need God in my life, cause I am so weak

  • @anemicheritic yes do it you'll feel so great after words

  • a very beautiful song, muy hermosa

  • But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. ~ 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

  • For my money, nothing beats their first album....every single song was amazing!

  • @bronc30td JOC's first album was indeed their best overall project, in my opinion. They are a great band and have amazing songs that have come along since. However, from first song to last, it is my opinion their first album is the best debut of any Christian band in the history of CCM. Worlds Apart is my all time favorite Christian song.

  • @x001m69 Couldn't agree more re: Worlds Apart

  • Wow, crazy how good they sound live. Better than the album in my opinion :] great song

  • It describes us so accurately it scares me. Just think of the world, as it was created along with man, as God's lover. And then how we chose ourselves before Him. And stained that virginity before we were crowned His. How he can't look upon us unless we are clean. How Jesus cleaned us.

  • It's one of those songs that makes you stop and think, do some introspection, examine the genuineness of one's own conviction. So much music out there, "Christian" or otherwise, tends to be so shallow and trite - these guys take the nail out the cross and hit you in the head with it. What's the point in calling yourself a Christian if you're not tryin'a live like Christ? Consider this a call to be real about your faith.

  • One of my fav groups..love ya Jars..

  • VERY NICE SONG

  • What a beautiful arrangement!

  • Blessed are the shallow

    Depth they'll never find

    Seemed to be some comfort

In rooms I try to hide

    Exposed beyond the shadows

You take the cup from me

    Your dirt removes my blindness

    Your pain becomes my peace

  • Very fine music wrong message...

  • Very fine music wrong message...

  • @TheEarthling2 Wrong message??? For who is it a "wrong" message? Is it a wrong message for Jesus Christ? Is it a wrong message for you? Did it strike a nerve? Did it offend you? Did it make you think? Did you do a self inventory? Did it compel you to be introspective? You do not need to post an answer. This is just something for you to think about before casting a judgement upon a message.

  • great song, God bless you guys! thanks for this..

  • I heard a pastor on the radio today say "If you ever find yourself before The Almighty, and you're not feeling inadequate(like a peon, he said), then you're probably not before The Almighty!" I need to learn to boast in my Lord, and in my weakness, and nothing else.

  • @studentofthegospel for some reason that felt like a great word for me. cheers!

  • that is a real God´s song ,and their inspirations that touch and reach our souls, awesome and i love it.

  • If we could only be frail and let God be powerful...... our lives would be so much easier.......

  • jars writes such inspiring catchy songs, along with a new christian band Red Letter Hymnal. They've got awesome stuff on youtube

  • I just relapsed on drugs after being sober for about 17months ..........I empathise with this song in feeling down, weak, and frail

Jesus you are my only hope in this and in the next life!

  • @planes3333 - I'll pray for you my friend... even tho we don't know eachother, none of us are alone in this life, especially when you consider all the brothers & sisters we have in Christ... one big family who wants to help. <3

  • @hetfieldshoney

hey thanks you made me feel loved by that comment

  • @planes3333 - Awww... well I'm so happy to hear that! :0) And I meant every word too. God never promised that those who believe in Him will not have trials or suffering in this life, but He does promise that He will NEVER LEAVE US ALONE... and He will never give us more than we can actually handle with His help. We are all much stronger than we think. Especially when we DO turn to him in faith, no matter how many times we may fail, or fall to weakness. He loves us anyway & is always w/ us <3

  • @hetfieldshoney

Hey if you want to facebook me I am "Darren Ganderton" from Vancouver Canada

    peace out Napolean ; P

  • @planes3333 - I actually don't do social networking stuff, & don't have a FB acct. I'm not online a whole lot, as I have problems w/ severe migraines & being around EMFs seems to make it worse. :0(

Thanks 4 offering tho. (If u want, you can just email me here).

I hope you had a good Christmas this year. Hang in there! :0)

  • @hetfieldshoney

Hope you had a good christmas too, and that you have an awesome new year to come. I am about 8 days away from College!!

    keep in touch

    Darren

  • @planes3333

we have this treasure in earthen vessels to show that our power comes from God and not from ourselves. it's in His strength that we live and move and have our being. I appreciate you transparency and openness. I'll be praying for you and you pray for me too. we need each other in the body of Christ. every joint supplies. God bless!

  • @hhawki3

    god bless you too

  • @planes3333 Hang in there my friend. He is the Almighty and He has a plan for. You hung in there proving your personal strength, don't think he hasn't noticed. You are strong. You will survive.

  • @Hathahasmeenay

I am sober 2 months right now

  • @planes3333 I'm so happy to here that!!!!! Hold your head high and sing not only his praises, but yours as well. Remember, you are a survivor!

  • @Hathahasmeenay

    cheers, sober 2 months now

  • @planes3333 cool

  • @MrMellones

    sober 4 moths

  • @planes3333 congrats dear:)

  • @planes3333 remember life is not always easy it can be somed up in a verse fron 2nd timother I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. the way to heaven is a great race there will always be obsticles that you will need to overcome there WILL be at times when question yourt faith but in the end if you keep going you cross that finish line and your reward will be heaven the land of milk and honey the a place that is the altimate reward you coould ever get

  • @thersman1111

    He is good !! : )

  • @thersman1111 YEs I cant wait to see christ

  • Shockingly good live performance. Even if you're expecting it to be great, turn it up loud, and it's going to surprise you.

...the only Christian band who have consistently created new and significantly original art for God.

  • no sabia q esto es rock cristiano

  • @lizaevil hola liza, y dime como te parecio este video? :)

  • This really is a masterpiece. Just awesome.

  • man dis song is deep

  • Exposed beyond the shadows

You take the cup from me

    Your dirt removes my blindness

    Your pain becomes my peace

  • Love this song!

  • Perfeita!

  • Love this song. How true it is. My favorite Jars of Clay song! Are you seeking our Father, and are you ready?!

  • Comment removed

  • So, this is pretty much my favorite song ever right now. I learned how to play it on guitar and ever since then I've barely gone a day without playing it a couple times. . . absolutely amazing.

  • Very moving!!!

  • This is my favorite song of theirs and this is an amazing live performance...wish I had been there....

  • @dragonflySummer09 I can't decide between this one and Worlds Apart. Both are SO good.

  • @lonestarduffer Hey! try 'This Road' awesome lyrics-& music

  • Comment removed

  • @lonestarduffer They are both awesome songs that make great prayers!

  • okay this is by far one of the best songs they ever arranged... I love the tone... it fits in perfectly with the little stream of lyrics. funny how they can squeeze so much into just a few sentances. the song in itself is a clear message.

  • This Song is AWESOME...Glory To God..^_^

  • I used to wonder, "How does *not* being weak, *not* being cold and *not* being scared make you frail?"

Then one day the true meaning of this song finally hit me. Being weak, cold and scared is what causes us to turn to God for strength. If we never had any reason to turn to God, we would never receive His strength. And without strength from God, we truly would be frail.

  • @F35B2009

I just learned that lesson after being sober 13 months had a 2 day slip back into hell, but you know what Jesus is soooooooo good to find us hurting and pick us up again, (through so many ways, people messages etc),

    hallelujia for grace

  • @rathjen79 Thanks for sharing that. This song has so much truth in it.

  • @rathjen79 ...Praise God! Thank you Jesus! Stay strong. :)

  • I love this song. I was first drawn to it for its beautiful, almost haunting instrumental parts more than I was for the lyrics. But over the years I've also come to appreciate the beauty of its lyrics as well.

"If I was not so weak, if I was not so cold, if I was not so scared of being broken growing old... I would be frail".

( this is a long comment so there will be two parts)

  • This really is one of the best songs I have ever heard...I am 50

  • @graphicallyspeaking1 I agree completely.

  • They're coming to my church in 3 months!!! So freaking excited, aahh. :)

  • youtube " theelder " takeover

    itunes " thisjourney " theelder

  • HOLY COW!!! I'm speechless.

  • I'd pay $100 to see these guys live... more if necessary.

  • @lonestarduffer Go to the web site for The Honeywell Center great seat still available

  • Also, this was the first contemporary christian band that really got me interested in the genre. I then bought every album they put out. I probably have well over 500 CD's that are contemporary christian. The message of GOD, love, hope, faith & charity speaks volumes to my heart & touches my soul on a daily basis. I am grateful for JOC & all the other CC bands.

  • Love these guys... my heart ached for this kind of music. JOC are so creative... music that touches your heart & really makes you think! GOD is so amazing!

  • "take the cup from me", dirt removes my blindness", "your pain becomes my peace", in reference to our LORD and SAVIOR JESUSCHRIST. He picked up dirt to put it on blinds' eyes to heal them, Isaiah says that his pain was our peace, and Jesus himself the night before he was handed over said in prayer " if u will take this cup from me"

  • @hebefeso Amen

  • my favorite song from them its just amazing how this guys can change and keep creating masterpieces... they are blessed by God and like everything He does, they are brilliant

  • I love all this acoustic album... it's so moving, and it takes me to God's presence!! beautiful

  • AWESOME!! Greatest band on planet earth!!

  • most epic sweeping piece of music i've ever heard.. makes me think that this is what God sounds like.. :)

  • That was awesome, planes33333!!!!!

  • My all time favorite song.

  • blessed are the shallow, the depth they'll never find!

  • This is my FAVORITE song from these guys!!

  • Take my world apart. I am on my knees.

  • Hey guys! If you really like Christian metal. Check out Gorgoroth! They really love praising the lord!

    Peace and God bless!

  • @DoctorBudd I laughed. I really did. I applaud your comment. Shall they check out Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth and Mayhem as well? How about Vader and Enthroned?

  • something about how this song is quietly whispered and fragile is incredibly beautiful.

  • 2 Cor 4:7-8 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

We spend so much time worrying about our earthen vessel, and forget the One inside! Do we realize how helpless and powerless we are apart from Christ in us, the hope of glory? His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

  • looked up lyrics. very meaningful and beautifully done song. Thanks Holy Spirit and thanks Jars of Clay.

  • foi usada na trilha de crepusculo, nao foi?

  • Do you know if this was filmed in So. Cal? I think I recognize one of the violinists.

  • Why was this song not included on Jars' Essential 2CD set? Absolutely one of their best...... just beautiful.....!!!

  • awsome!!!!

  • Thie tune and words cut very deep into my soul one day driving through the mountains on a clear night. The heavens we so clear that night!

God is so faithful to our foolish pride!

Thanks be to God for His grace!

  • @EF2000CanFly

    so true.

  • Inspiring. My actions have been dominated by my worldy pursuits, not considering the impact it may have on people I love. I thought I was strong,...I found that I am really just....

  • can someone tell me what message they are trying to send through this song? like what is the main message of the song, what are they trying to say in this song? thanks!

  • You must first be weak & broken to be strong, you must let go of all your ego. "If I was not so weak..... I would be frail" In our weakness God's strength is made perfect in us.

  • by far this is one of my favorite songs by Jars of clay..

  • I saw these guys in college right before they blew up big big. Amazing show. Sounds just as good live as they do on the CD. Rare...

  • One of the best Christian bands, or just plain bands, of all time. Grew up on these guys! Thanks JoC. <3

  • Underrated band.

  • @cutekittygirl

    Yes.

    Not underrated to me, though.

  • @cutekittygirl

I think part of jars' problem is that their early stuff is so much better and they keep changing hteir style

  • @cutekittygirl if they sing secular songs they would be over rated. Make sense?

  • Now this is a way to start the day. WOW

GREAT, GREAT BAND... I just love the way this song moves through you. Wonderful video. Man this songs gives me chills, sounds just like the recording, Great live version.

They are a great band to see live. I want to go to another concert of JOC. I'm going 2 catch up with some more great music from Jars Of Clay. Refreshing moment that i had with the posting of this live video.

    Thanks bunches.

  • "Exposed beyond the shadows You take the cup from me Your dirt removes my blindness Your pain becomes my peace..."

    i love those lines!

    love u jars of clay!

u are great song writers and one-of-a-kind musicians!

    KUDOS to u guys!

  • I'm always amazed by their talent, great guitarists, great keyboard, but i'm a huge fan of Dan Haseltine, he has one of the best voices for me and my favorite song writer

  • So incredibly soulful, rips you to the core, and with the full orchestra... ~shivers~

  • This my fav song from the band, XD!!

  • Really Good Song

  • qué genial la canción ^^

  • This is such a beautiful song! With such power! And I like the orkest. They did a very good job that day man!!!!!!

  • Should've been there. Wow. My favourite song from my favourite band.

  • Did he died?

    ?

  • Not sure who exactly you're asking about, but none of the band members have died.

  • lol

  • I grew up with many kids who did not believe in the Lord god of Abraham, but still loved this band. That's the beauty of using metaphores in lyrics of pop music.

    Great band. Great song writers.

  • Great song, my favorite from these guys.

  • having a good voice is a gift from GOD! and we are glad you using it for GLORY OF GOD!

  • Memories of this song.. wow,, still amazes me... 5*****

  • beautiful

  • i can play that song! i love it so much man....

  • Amazing song!!!

  • I wonder who did the orchestra arrangements.

  • Cara...eu sou fã do jars of clay, eles são uma benção...Continuem assim...abraços do Brasil

  • Certainly a beautiful song. I've learned to play it on the guitar, and it's an impressive instrumental piece as well.

I never cried for it, but it hits me nonetheless. It's one of few songs that I can sing and play, and actually feel it. not just the music, but the passion behind it.

    It's an amazing feeling

    God Bless

  • i love this song so much

  • hmmm.... do u ever cry everytime u hear jars of clay musics?? especially worlds apart and frail.... closing my eyes and thinking, praying to overcome lifes struggle... hope its end soon.. thank u lord for the talent to sing and expressing our love and devotion...

  • jinpaulo - i totally agree man. frail and worlds apart have been two of my latest favorites in my personal life and prayer. they are so deep and convincing in the subtlest ways with their words

  • They are both amazing songs that go straight to the spirit.

I really need to work on plugging myself back into the Heart of God, instead of being so lazy with my relationship with Jesus.

  • whats the meaning of this song? would mean alot to me.

  • It was a instrumental piece written by matt or Charlie for a class project.

Later Dan with his metaphoric talent put words to it

  • i think it is saying that if you were not so jaded, than fraility would just be the start of your growth in some sort of spirituality. otherwise, you are dead instead of just frail.

  • Hello Thearmsman,

My interpretation is that this song describes the struggle that a person can have in living a Godly life yet in the vulnerability God can become a person's strength, similar to Worlds Apart which is basically a prayer.

  • watch the youtube video : Jars of Clay - Dan Haseltine about Frail. He talks about it.

  • I agree with you Sammyanthes, Jars of Clay is Amazing!

  • this song is pure inspiration !!!

i think it`s the best one they`d ever made.
