@bronc30td JOC's first album was indeed their best overall project, in my opinion. They are a great band and have amazing songs that have come along since. However, from first song to last, it is my opinion their first album is the best debut of any Christian band in the history of CCM. Worlds Apart is my all time favorite Christian song.
It describes us so accurately it scares me. Just think of the world, as it was created along with man, as God's lover. And then how we chose ourselves before Him. And stained that virginity before we were crowned His. How he can't look upon us unless we are clean. How Jesus cleaned us.
It's one of those songs that makes you stop and think, do some introspection, examine the genuineness of one's own conviction. So much music out there, "Christian" or otherwise, tends to be so shallow and trite - these guys take the nail out the cross and hit you in the head with it. What's the point in calling yourself a Christian if you're not tryin'a live like Christ? Consider this a call to be real about your faith.

God never promised that those who believe in Him will not have trials or suffering in this life, but He does promise that He will NEVER LEAVE US ALONE... and He will never give us more than we can actually handle with His help. We are all much stronger than we think. Especially when we DO turn to him in faith, no matter how many times we may fail, or fall to weakness. He loves us anyway & is always w/ us <3

Then one day the true meaning of this song finally hit me. Being weak, cold and scared is what causes us to turn to God for strength. If we never had any reason to turn to God, we would never receive His strength. And without strength from God, we truly would be frail.
I just learned that lesson after being sober 13 months had a 2 day slip back into hell, but you know what Jesus is soooooooo good to find us hurting and pick us up again, (through so many ways, people messages etc),

I grew up with many kids who did not believe in the Lord god of Abraham, but still loved this band. That's the beauty of using metaphores in lyrics of pop music.
Certainly a beautiful song. I've learned to play it on the guitar, and it's an impressive instrumental piece as well.
I never cried for it, but it hits me nonetheless. It's one of few songs that I can sing and play, and actually feel it. not just the music, but the passion behind it.

jinpaulo - i totally agree man. frail and worlds apart have been two of my latest favorites in my personal life and prayer. they are so deep and convincing in the subtlest ways with their words
i think it is saying that if you were not so jaded, than fraility would just be the start of your growth in some sort of spirituality. otherwise, you are dead instead of just frail.
My interpretation is that this song describes the struggle that a person can have in living a Godly life yet in the vulnerability God can become a person's strength, similar to Worlds Apart which is basically a prayer.

GREAT, GREAT BAND... I just love the way this song moves through you. Wonderful video. Man this songs gives me chills, sounds just like the recording, Great live version.
They are a great band to see live. I want to go to another concert of JOC. I'm going 2 catch up with some more great music from Jars Of Clay. Refreshing moment that i had with the posting of this live video.

I grew up with many kids who did not believe in the Lord god of Abraham, but still loved this band. That's the beauty of using metaphores in lyrics of pop music.
Great band. Great song writers.

Certainly a beautiful song. I've learned to play it on the guitar, and it's an impressive instrumental piece as well.
I never cried for it, but it hits me nonetheless. It's one of few songs that I can sing and play, and actually feel it. not just the music, but the passion behind it.
It's an amazing feeling

hmmm.... do u ever cry everytime u hear jars of clay musics?? especially worlds apart and frail.... closing my eyes and thinking, praying to overcome lifes struggle... hope its end soon.. thank u lord for the talent to sing and expressing our love and devotion...

i think it is saying that if you were not so jaded, than fraility would just be the start of your growth in some sort of spirituality. otherwise, you are dead instead of just frail.

My interpretation is that this song describes the struggle that a person can have in living a Godly life yet in the vulnerability God can become a person's strength, similar to Worlds Apart which is basically a prayer.
