  • When you watch this, notice how the guy talking at the end sounds suspiciously like the guy who does the Iranu/Uvavu stuff on Shooting Stars...

  • Love how they are trying to make it "Internationally friendly" but they still have a fist with the colors of the American flag.

  • Comment removed

  • I still have the original comics where Baron Ironblood turns into Cobra Commander And was it Jackal who turns into Destro. Awesome!

  • @insomniax20

    Not that look like that.

  • @Skepticktok What Red, White and Blue? Same colours as the British, French, Australian, Dutch, Russian, New Zealand and many other nations flags too. Very International.

  • @DarianAthuk

Maybe it's the giant star and horizontal stripes that made me feel that way. I can see your point though.

  • The singers and announcers for the Action Force intro sound somewhat better than the GI Joe intro.

  • The intro was fine, the ridiculous re-dubbing was not! LOL. :D

  • Oh shit this is kinda' catchy.

  • I only saw the 'correct' intro to G.I. Joe The Movie recently and that theme song is fucking terrible, IMO. Full Force all the way.

  • FULL FORCE rocks much more than 'yo joe'

  • It's still a cringeworthy song but far better than g.i.joe, also the full force is slightly less annoying than yo joe, don't matter which one you grew up watching I think we can all agree Cobra Commander was the best character in the whole thing!

  • Action Force a.k.a. TEAM EURO

  • Why does this look like a GIJoe ripoff?

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 Its not a rip off. Its the same thing, they changed it from GI Joe because it sounds too "American Up Your Arse".

    Already sounds better...

    "Hi, I'm from Joe"...

    "Cool..I'm from ACTION FORCE!!!!"

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 Because Action Force was the UK//European name for G.I. Joe. As it says in the description.

  • best intro ever

  • @myangeldustatymail - It's true! They could have overdubbed all the voices, but they didn't. So Flint (the Action Force leader), who came from Lincolnshire in the UK continuity, sounded American. Lady Jaye, who came from Cork in Ireland, sounded American. It was all rather confusing. The only thing that was over-dubbed was "Yo Joe!" which became "Full Force!" And of course, the original actors didn't do the dubbing.

  • The giant fist alone smashing the cobra logo makes this better then the G.I. Joe intro.

  • Still gets the old blood pumping

  • Way better than GI Joe

  • I always thought Action Force sounded better with this tune. And I think it's better beIng INTERNATIONAL Heroes, rather than Team America.

[overtakes Terrymiester running from JOE fans.]

  • International hero's!

  • Action Force.... An international team of Americans....... fighting a group of British Terrorists. No wonder Britain has no national identity anymore. When you grow up watching a movie where your countrymen are the bad guys it is no wonder you people have problems now. You can't even fly your own flag for fear that a Muslim will trash and burn your house to the ground... very sad...

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP MY RECOLECT MY CHILHOOD

I REMEMBER SEEING THIS A AS PREVIEW ON A REALLY OLD VIDEO I HAD AS A KID. IM TRYIN TO REMEMBER IT,

THE VIDEO HAD 2 CARTOONS ON IT

1 WAS A CHARACTER OR GOBLIN IN GREEN TRYING TO PROTECT A PRINCESS

THE OTHER WAS 2 GUYS TRYING TO GET TO THE TOP OF A TOWER AND KILL SOME SORT OF ALIEN OR SUMTING LIKE DAT (THE THRILLER SONG WAS IN IT)

ANYBODY KNOW WAT IT WAS ?

IF SOMEBODY COULD TELL ME WAT THAT VIDEO WAS OR SUGGESTIONS THAT WUD BE GREAT

  • All eighties cartoon songs have an odd appeal to them, the best was the Galaxy ranger Theme in my opinion at least. But of course they would not call it G.I. JOE A real American Hero to sell it to European markets. I am curious about the British version, we had Navy Seals and rangers and Green Berets. I assume your line had a lot of SAS Operatives which must have been cool.

  • Rapid employment Force Ok Now you get paid for saving the world. If the whole world had no Money Cobra would take over That's Dumb!

  • You should see the couch I saw there... Very very brightly colored. And I'd say 14 bucks for a coffee table isn't that bad. Building it yourself can be fun. I actually built a CD tower from there. But we digress... I think this could have worked if it was... more spunky.

  • Well, this is a bit bland. But dude, have you ever shopped IKEA? Their furniture is not bland. Very bright.

  • I liked the Action Force Comic and can remember this tune playing alongside many of the ad breaks when I was a kid.

That being said I prefer the G.I JOE theme to this.

  • @myangeldustatymail

yeah but us brits have better swear words :)

  • @Terrymiester You're British, right? Then don't use the term "Brit". It is actually a racist term developed by the Provos over in Ulster. It's the same as calling an Asian a Paki. So don't.

  • @Mangoyle Racist? Its no more racist than calling an Australian an 'Aussie' or a Scottish person a 'Scot'. Incidently, the word 'paki' isn't racist (all it is, is an abbreviation of the word Pakistan) its just the way the word is used (generally with aggression) is what makes it racist. 'Brit' is not a racist term, I don't find it racist and neither do the population of Britain, except for you evidently. So I shall continue the use that word as it is completely harmless.

  • @Terrymiester Paki is actually a Persian word meaning "pure". But is now a derogatry (however you spell it) term. Brit is a racist word and if you were alive for The Troubles you would know that. The population of Britain born before around '95 would be offended.

  • @Mangoyle well if its such a 'racist' word then the creators of 'The Brit Awards' would be in serious trouble. The Brit Awards started in 1977, 4 years before I was born (1981).

Its not racist, its used everywhere (T.V, radio, newspapers etc), in non-offensive ways, just like how I used it.

  • @Mangoyle 'Brits' 'Paki's' or 'Afgans'.... its a SHORTER version of the full name, how is that racist. My name is Richard, if someone called me 'Rich', 'Rik' or even 'Dick' I would not say they are racist. Most of you need to grow some balls, man the fuck up, and stop complaining about something just because you have fuck all left to do in the world. Find and do something with great meaning that serves a purpose than this petty bullshit.

  • lol how can a GI Joe be "international" lol

    I find it so hilarious

  • Yeah, how can a highly trained mission force be international... that's weird, isnt it?

    Uhm... not.

Action Force rocked. The coolest toys I ever had, next to He-Man...

  • I only ever knew this as Action Force when I was younger and maybe I'm being biased but I do think it has a better intro song than G.I Joe's. *Runs from the crazy G.I Joe's fans*

  • @Terrymiester

By a country fucking mile mate. Plus the video is made out of 70% flame and explosions..

  • @Terrymiester This IS 100000000 times better and more action packed than the american GI Joe version. GI sound camp, this is fucking ACTION FORCE BITCH!! :D

  • @Terrymiester i agree better intro sorry G.I. Joe fans

  • @Terrymiester the new movie kinda took the GI Joe motto and the action force world wide brand and clobbered them together, almost no one outside the USA and Canada had heard of GI Joe so they took a big leap and only cared what the home audience thought which was bad cos they kinda didn't get it.

it's just GI Joe now no more real american hero

  • @Terrymiester No worries mate, we yanks aren't all super crazed patriots. I love my country and so should you.. nono wait that didn't come out right. LOL

  • i admit its nt as successful as gi joe but sure as hell sound better

  • Close your eyes and imagine it's Jack Black singing the theme song.

Only then does it become awesome.

  • international heroes? wtf lol

  • to us brits we know it!

  • im british and by wachicg the i think that we are mad in a good way

  • @spartenranger11 Do you hear it? The drumming, the constant drumming. cause if you do then you're right you are mad in a good way.

  • Every one should know this is GI Joe in America haha.

  • While it was funny to see this intro. I find half the fun of G.I.Joe is the fact it is blatant American Regan era Jingoism. The show unintentionally turns itself into almost parody because of this.

I don't know, but taking that away does take something away from it.

  • Aw i remember watching this :')

  • SERIOUSLY??? lmao, suckers

  • Full force!

  • The only reason the british were screwing around with this is because the americans were taking credit for everything, Real "american" hero. but with this it says "international" hero, so its not just americans but america and all her allies.

  • After years of the U.S. screwing up great British television(Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf), I guess it's only fair that they some of ours wrong via some dubbing slight-of-hand----but c'mon; "ACTION FORCE---INTERNATIONAL HEROES"??? Lame!!!

  • I dont know the internation hero part was quite good. it means not just america but the whole world. and all the members are not just from america but europe, africa, asia and south america.

but even some thing better than action force. keep the force part though.

  • G.i JOE - Real american Hero >.>

    isnt that lame..

i can understand slogan real american hero works in usa but in europe its pretty lame.. too much "US fuck yeah" propaganda..

  • That's essentially the point of G.I. Joe; it was essentially a jingoistic Reagan-era fantasy training kids to be good little killers for the U.S. Of A.! You either like that aspect of it or you don't!

  • Comment removed

  • yes and thats why they dubbed G.I joe in europe.. if they didnt, the G.I. Joe wouldnt pe published in europe..

I understand people like G.I Joe for the cult thing..probably everyone here who comment are born around 80s..

but what i mean i understand europe dubbed it back then but they could have pick a better slogan then INTERNATIONAL HEROES <.<

  • @trashkan66 Goes a bit further back than that. The twelve inchers. When that Joe was brought to Europe he was dubbed Action Man. Then when Joe, in the US, returned as a "daring, highly trained special missions force," Europe gave Action Man a "team" name as well. : )

...it's purpose: to defend human freedom against Cobra. A ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world. Yet I don't remember the name of my third grade teacher. Priorities...

  • @DoctorPretorious616 Killers? GI Joe taught kids to shoot a million bullets (err...laser bolts...) and never hit a thing. My favorite bit was when they'd actually manage to shoot down a Cobra aircraft...and they'd MAKE SURE you saw the pilot float down to safety in his parachute. He'd be in the foreground, blocking all the action!

  • @trashkan66 For real. Looking back at this now is *unbelievable*. I'm sure if my mum saw it now she would wonder why she let me watch it when I was a kid.

Now, we have the Call of Duty games to soften kids up to images of warfare so when they're older they're not bothered by it when they see it for real.

Unbelievable propaganda - being pumped right into our kid's rooms. And we PAY for it!

  • BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!! fuck i hate this shit. it's funny how we can take refuse from other countries and turn it into gold and when others try it with our stuff it comes out like this. fucking tragic!! yo joe!!

  • America takes hugely successful British shows like "The Office" and "Life on Mars" and tries to reinvent them with an American theme. They never succeed but they somehow can't leave them be. Imagine a British reinvention of "Friends" - it just wouldn't work!

  • yea, but i don't watch those shows. ;)

  • Actually, The Office seems quite popular in America. I'm not a fan of television myself, so I can't quote ratings, but I hear people talk about it a good bit.

BTW, I remember watching Fawlty Towers (imported with John Cleese...) as a teenager and thinking, "man, so much better than American shitcoms."

  • I'll agree with you on the ground that G.I.JOE is a lot better then Action Force, but I can't recall any moment when the US has taken one of our shows and made it brilliant, especially the 2 US pilots of Red Dwarf that were made.

Besides, these changes to JOE were only made to do one thing, sell toys and it did it's purpose.

  • hey, i agree 100%. i really wasn't referring to the television dramas. hell, i don't watch those anyways. american television in general is a disgusting whirlpool of filth and so called reality shows. i think you are right.

  • very interesting....indeed... i got the action force skystriker... :)

  • I think our intro sounds better thean the amercans.

i mean i prefear GI joe but our thme is a lot moer catcher

  • it is very interesting.....the japanese version is also pretty cool....check it out..

  • LOL!! just like when the UK changed TMNT into Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

  • Wasn't there some sort of censorship rule that prevented them from using the word "ninja" at the time? I know the BBFC had some serious issues with things like headbutting for a while.

  • as far as i rember this was used for Action Force episodes in all honesty oi prefer the G.I.JOE identity but Hasbro Europe not just the UK thought a internationaal team would be better to market

  • interresting did they this intro for the entire Action Force series? because this intro was made for G.I Joe: The revenge of Cobra

  • I dont know what all the bickering is about Action Force Gi Joe, its still the same thing, just from different areas, Action Force will seem gay to other that know it by GI Joe as GI Joe sounds gay to us who know it as Action Force. Why complain its still the same thing in the end

  • right, because GI mean's goverment isues and action force and international hero's mean's a force made up of specialist from all over the world. But as you say why bother, i mean at least Cobra is stil Cobra, the enemy is stil the same

  • I'm sorry, I understand this is the UK version of G.I, Joe being called Action Force.. But G.I Joe is so much better.. Maybe it's because I grew up with the toys and comics and also Cartoon.. Even the G.I Joe movie from what I heard in England is going to be called G.I Joe and not Action Force..

  • their making it into a film action force the rise of cobra or gi joe

  • the film is called: G.i. JOE the rise of Cobra

  • well it it called Gi joe The rise of cobra, Action force is a british version if they have it a british version

  • pahahaha, action force!!? are yu friggin kidding me?!/ real international heroes? LOLOLOLOLOLOL(OL

  • i like how they use the red white and blue though! lol

  • I actually think "The Totally Awesome Tea Totallers" would have been a fantastic name for a British cartoon! That made me lol...

  • gi joe sucks.... we had action man.... but that cartoon suckd....

  • yeah but G.I. Joe sounds like a gay porn actor, action force sounds far better!

Anyway they cant be "real american heroes" because i didnt see one episode where they shot at their allies in it, something american forces do with frightening regularity...

  • This is funny dude.

  • Real AMERICAN Heroes pfffff mouahahaha

  • LOL

  • LMAO ACTION FORCE! Dude I didn't know they did that!

  • i developed a crush on cobra commander when i was 7

loved his costumes...he even dragged up in one episode...legend

  • thats the one patrick allen, proper legend!!!!!

  • Even the narrator is on fire"compared i forget his name" hes a proper old school brit actor and voice over, shame we as a country where too!!! girly in the cartoon industry either way this version was is and will always be on form, still puts the hairs up on my arms agggggh the good old days as a kid in the 80s will never be beaten ever.

  • The narrator is the late Patrick Allen.

  • I know this was an u.s.a show and i respect that i really do but this version destroys the u.s intro, it is awesome in comparison, i love it.

  • Actually, this was the opening to one of the first GIJoe miniseries, before it became a full series.

  • Yes, but in the UK this intro was used for ALL the Action Force dubbed episodes of G I Joe.

  • This version ruled! I will never forget how much I loved this & still do :D

  • Also GI Joe was just called Action Man over there, if I'm not mistaken.

  • Negative- Action Man was a different franchise, older than GI Joe interestingly enough.

  • Now that I think about it, you are correct. I think the most interesting Action Man was the one that dressed as a bunch of other characters...

  • "Negative- Action Man was a different franchise, older than GI Joe interestingly enough. "

Actually you are incorrect there, Action Man was the UK name for the 12 inch GI Joe from the 1960s. It was made and sold under license by Palitoy

  • Well from what I've gathered, G.I.JOE started out in 1964, Hasbro made a line of 12inch soldier toys and then a UK company licensed the toys from them and created Action Man in 1966.

The whole JOE franchises started out in the 1960s, G.I.JOE:ARAH was Hasbro making their franchises in action figure size since the Star Wars action figures were so much popular then their 12inch counterparts.

  • i think you hit the nail on the head.

  • It's Action Force against COBRA the enemy!"

  • You gotta love that accent they put on "agAIYnst." :D

  • What I want to know is why they changed the name from "G.I.Joe" to "Action Force"?

  • Likely to get away from an American-centric theme, since the phrase 'G.I' is commonly associated with America. Either that or Copyright issues.

  • Has bro Europe wanted a less 'American' themed toy line as it was being sold overseas, hence the name change and occasional dubbing.

  • I have two episodes of these I'm thinking of uploading them but don't know how I can get them onto CD first but then what format to get them working on youtube. The episodes I have are the 'Mcguffin Device' and 'The most dangerous thing in the world.'

  • That first episode is 'Once Upon A Joe'. Well YouTube (as far as I know) excepts most major video formats, including Vob files which are directily from DVD, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

  • Cheesy! :D

  • No! AWESOME

  • i only new this version of gi joe and i bet that outside of us this version it was much more popular, and of course i like venture bros.

  • whats the name of the story where there forcing people to test a new drug its kind like toffe or something

  • 'Let's Play Soldier' and it's a gum made from a sap from a tree that lets Cobra control people's minds.

  • I like this intro

  • Gi joe is not renamed Action Force over there because of politics, but because of the toyline.

During the early 80s, there was a line called Action Force, which consiste of international fellas. The toys were constructed like Star wars toys from the past where it didn't have any orings.

Eventually, the company started to get permission from HAsbro to borrow their toy molds for their AF figs. The toys were brought over to the UK and renamed. However, they later incorperated.....

  • However, they later incorperated the american names and storyline in the A.force comics and figures as a way to do away with the UK story and to use US one without renamin the title of the toyline.

For instance, Baron Ironblood abandoned his old terrorist group called Red Shadows, changed his identity to Cobra and formed a new organization called Cobra. He also overpowered Red Jackal, 2nd command of red Shadows, had plastic surgey done to his metal face, and started calling him Destro.

  • I like this though. It's the same feeling and concept without making it a nationalist bulwark. Freedom does not belong to the US, but to all the peoples of the world and it's enemies are trying to take that away from all of us...good stuff.

  • WOW!...Action Force heh??...very different but really cool....

  • Basically it was the same cartoon as G.I. Joe, but re-dubbed in places.

  • Actually this makes more sense than GI Joe, and i am a Joe head. They should of made it more an international team, so the kids could say cool "X" is from my country or town or whatever. With Joe, we get the enemies being the foreigners, so non Americans get the shaft.

  • You Do know that in the comics Cobra Commander was an american, and he was treated as such in the Cartoon except for the movie, right?

  • Yes, he was a car salesman, disgruntled with the American way. But Destro, Bludd most of the dreadnoks were foreigners.

  • Zartan, Zandar and Zarana were Americans, Storm Shadow was an American (yes a Japanese American but that shouldn't matter he was born in San Francisco)... so it shouldn't really matter that the Joes were almost all Americans.

  • That's a very good point Graehaus. Much like Star Wars, most of the villians speak with a non-American accent and the "heros" sound like us. The dreadnoks were all Aussies. I don't know what Tomax and Xamot were but they weren't American, and Blood, Baroness, Destro, Commander, they all sounded like eastern Europeans to me.

  • Exactly, and that outlook always will alienate the American way from the rest of the world. marvel killed off Alpha Flight ( the only Canadian team) and replaced them with Americans (yay!) I know wolverine is supposed to be a Canadian, but he is also supposed to be 5'3", and isn't in the comics. Anyhow, I like the Action force feel. Oh well, it is a great toy and was a cool cartoon.

  • agreed

  • so gi joe was called action force in uk

  • Action Force was a British cartoon based on G.I Joe in order to make everything a little less american

Flint is the best character :D

  • It wasn't really the American nature but rather because Action Force was originally a UK exclusive toyline that only gradually evolved into a pure import of G.I. Joe. As "Action Force" was the title by which the toyline had made itself known here (and which the licenced fiction used) it made retail sense for Hasbro to retain it for some years when they took it over. By the end of 1989 it was presumably cheaper to stick to "G.I. Joe".

  • Calling ALL ACTION FORCE FANS ! BloodforthebaronDOTcom site is gathering all forces for a BIG REVIVAL so come on over, it has a great toy archive, EVERY UK EXCLUSIVE comic is also displayed in a great gallery all free to read and they have been coloring these black and white comics and releasing an issue every week for the last 50 weeks! great site for a fun toyline

  • If you have any episodes could you please post them

  • I got it on dvd it kicks ass

  • The Action Force movie was incredible!

  • I'm sorry, but I think I'll stay with G.I.Joooooooe A Real American Herooooooo, G.I Joe is theereee!

  • 80s cheesiness. Love it.

  • l like the english one beat then the usa one. soz 2 b honest lol

  • COBRAAAAAAAAA la lalalalalalalalala

  • thanks for posting this, any Action force fan should check out blood for the baron . com site out
