That little boy's name is Christian Zika, he had a leading role in an episode of CHiP's entitled "Disaster Squad", it originally aired on October 7th, 1978.
@calif1mc Wonder what he's up to now? Doesn't look like he's been in anything since 1981. Someone says he was also "Edgar" in the Malt-O-Meal commercial.
"Didn't Polaroid sue Kodak for patent infringement and force Kodaks instant cameras off the market?"
Yes, and were forced to buy them all back as well as pay Polaroid over 909 million $ because they stole Dr. Land's basic patent. It wasn't even a contest their cameras were so blatantly copied from the SX-70, only far less elegant.
Kodak trying to compete with Poloroid. They never did catch on...basically because they were ugly and bulky. Imagine carrying *that* around with you on vacation ! Seems like 100 years ago....
@iDraw3G , that kid looks like a miniature NFL player. I hate most stuff from 1972 to 1977, but this commercial is almost fine...except for that sports jacket and the long hair of the boy.
Looking for the one about "coming home" from Vietnam. the song is green grass of home...a real tearjerker. He gets off the bus and walks with Mary....
The actor is Squire Fridell, one of the most prolific commercial actors in the biz from the 1970's-1990's. I took his acting class in LA back in 1980. A great guy as well.
Yup. The films were withdrawn from sale after just a few years, making the cameras useless. Consumers were offered Disc cameras as replacements (now equally useless).

@eyeh8nbc I wonder too! I did a search for him, but he seems to have disappeared off the Hollywood Radar.

Kid kinda looks like Robbie Rist, though I think he was older when this commercial was released.

As soon as I saw him I said "Toyota!" I never thought I'd know this guy's name (or then look at his Wikipedia entry). Ah, the Internet! :)
