This is an amazing piece of work! The ecosystem is so well thought-through and the animation is very fluid! =) I also like the documantary style! incredible!
to reply to ur reply to my comment asking you to post moe vids, yes, i have ben showing friends and family ur videos, hope that's ok with you, also i can't wait til next semestre! u r awesome! bye!
@PDMLJC Sorry, I haven't been working on Drake E, though I would like to. I've noticed a spike in my viewership. Have you been spreading my video around? It is not a lack of ideas holding me back from working on Drake E. It is a lack of time and also I'm learning a new software. This next semester though I will be taking a 3-D animation class and may get a chance to do another Drake E video.
hey glorfon! just wanted to check on how progress was going, remember me? it's pdmljc! sorry i haven't contacted you in a while, but i have been quite buisy with certain things of my own. so, any new vids out soon?
@PDMLJC Well yes, I've posted more videos. I hope you enjoy them, but they are not related to Drake E. I still have more work from this school year to upload including a historical documentary which I think you will like. My remaining videos will be uploaded within the next month.
this is a wonderful piece of work, you shouldnt give it up. drake e is a very probable planetary project, and i admire it a lot. i spent a week sudying life on drake e, i even drew a drake e food chain! what are the jellyfish-like animals at 3.48, and the anemone-like creature at 1.21?
@PDMLJC The jellyfish like animals are unnamed soft bodied animals. They are distant relatives of the atliapiscies they feed with cilia on their "head" their heads are ridged to increase the surface area for feeding. The outer ring of tentacles pick up vibrations in the water. the inner ring are for swimming. The anemone is also related to the atliapiscies but rather than swimming it uses its pump to push water through a tuft of filter feeding teeth.
@PDMLJC Also, in response to you telling me not to give it up. I haven't and I am currently working on some detailed 3-D models of the creatures. But it will probably be a while before I post anything new. At this time the most best thing you can do to help me is to get more people interested in this project. If I have more support from other artists and speculative biologists I'll be able to do more with Drake E. Also, I'd love to see your food chain.
@glorfon y thank u glorfon, by the way, me ad my friend dan(who is a great artist and speculative biologist) have been working on our own planetary project called kailon. dan loves your video, and also would like to support you. would you like me 2 send u sum pics?
@PDMLJC I don't have scientific names for all of the creatures but what you described as "mini-volosebulos" I refer to as "rust shrimp." They are relatives of the volosebulos with vertically aligned fins and small jaws. They feed on the leaves of ferns. The single-pumped atliapisces is exactly that, it is a simpler slower moving relative of the three pumped atliapisces.
@patriciaarescy Those are lure worms. They stand on their tails to try and hook onto fleshy animals like the hexarmatus. The Orangeish horns are barbed hooks which they catch onto animals with and the orange patches on their head are their mouth. They feed off of their host kind of like a lamprey.
pleeeeeeeeeeeeease make another drake e vid! pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease! i am very interested and am curious as to what other life forms exist in this AMAZING ecosystem! also, is there or will there ever be any land life on drake e?
@PDMLJC Oh my goodness! A fan! I have a fan! Well since you are interested, I have over 300 species designed for the 450MYA era. I've also begun developing organisms for 300MYA when land life begins to evolve. I would love to make another video for Drake E. However I'm kind of limited in terms of time and technology right now. I'll let you know if I begin work on something new. I had ignored drake E for awhile but you've inspired me to keep working.
@dumassas is that face suppose to be sarcasm? There's a symbol for that, (!). Anyway, I suppose superficially there are similarities in that they have exoskeletons and black eyes. But anatomically they are very different.
Um, I didn't mention David Attenborough in that comment; I was describing my friend. Though yes that's who he was imitating.
I don't see why you're so worked up about this. Imitation is the sincerest for of flatery. I love David Attenborough. Can't you accept playful admiration through mimicry?
First of all, fuck all y'all bitches, my Attenborough is the shiznit. Y'all just mad 'cause you ain't got what I got, and you can't get no profit, and no money in yo pocket.
I am the muthafuckin king of the world! Bitch, get back, cuz ya shit is whack. Ya diss me and imma diss ya back!
The narration would've been so much better if you used a monotone american accent than the annoying fake english one.
Also, I find it hard to believe the eyes on the squid thing. If they're only good for distinguishing light from dark, why does it need so many and if it doesn't use eyes to see, I would assume it has some kind of sensory organ, but if the predator managed to position it's tentacles over the squid without being noticed, it would
My friend was trying to imitate David Attenborough.
Regarding the squid's eyes, it needs twelve for direction. 4 sets of 3 for top bottom and left right. This helps it establish up and tell if something is over it. Also the reason why its sets of three is to detect acceleration. A change between eye 1 and eye 2 can establish motion but a change between 3 eyes can identify a changing rate of motion. Can you clarify your question about the multi-remus catching the hexarmatus?

Also, multirenus? Does that mean it has multiple kidneys?
