this song reminds me of the man who lived next door when I was a kid. He lived there all his life and passed just a few months before my 16th birthday. He was 95 when he passed, but for 16 years he was the closest I ever got to a grandpa. Every morning when I went to kindergarden and school he sat at the same kitchen chair waving to me :)

I lost my two Grandpas in 86 and 89. One was 83 the other 63, I loved both them a lot. My grandpa Sippy was 63 when he died and he was my buddy, I love staying the weekends with him. He was a true honky tonk man, could drink that beer and play that guitar. My Dad passed away in May, 2010 from Cancer and my son was 5. He will never get to spend those fun years with him, only remember what we tell him. My Dad was 58 and cheated!!!

I lost my two Grandpas in 86 and 89. One was 83 the other 63, I loved both them a lot. My grandpa Sippy was 63 when he died and he was my buddy, I love staying the weekends with him. He was a true honky tonk man, could drink that beer and play that guitar. My Dad passed away in May, 2010 from Cancer and my son was 5. He will never get to spend those fun years with him, only remember what we tell him. My Dad was 58 and cheated!!!

Yeah I only have small memories of My papaw joe I only remember when he sit Me his lap in ' 87 he died not after that he worked on the rail roads rode trains he was in the front part and was getting ready to walk down steps and slipped and fell on the oncoming tracks and a train was coming he couldn't get up in time I never felt as loved as he loved Me by anyone My mom had 8 kids and My papaw was her daddy I miss him alot I just wished he had more time down here so I could've known him better.

I thought my Pa-Paw walked on water, too. He was a great man. Not just a "good" man. A GREAT man. He fathered my father, and then stayed with his bride until she died almost 55 years later. My family got mad when he started dating soon after--but all I cared was that he lived with a smile on his face until he left this place. I'll always love you, Pa-Paw Bird!

I was driving up the street one day and I am a 60 year old lady with 4 grown daughters and 8 grands and this song came on the radio. Tears starting streaming down my cheeks so bad I had to pull over. I could see see my sweet dad. He passed away 21 years ago this year. It doesn't seem over 5. He wore overalls like in this video. I miss him so much. i was a lucky one, i got to actualy know my great grandfather, and grandmother, quiet the couple:) miss them both, and missin my grama she passed away 6 months ago from liver, lung, limphnode, and bone cancer and she woulda lasted longer but she fell in the hospitial and ot a hemridge in her brain, i hate that hospitial for that but i love them for all they did for her. missin all ya'll see ya when i cross over too:)
