Noel and Liam made the band. They were the band itself. Liam's voice is like a siren, so unique and original and Noel's was original in a different concept. Those brothers were juxtaposed in mere talent. They had their differences but Oasis would not have made it as far as they did without Noel so Liam was in the wrong there.

The rock music was dead years before Oasis existed...and is dead now...But with Oasis came a fresh guitar riffs that inspired all that came with the new movement.If not for Oasis,there wouldn't have been Nelly Furtado,Travis,Coldplay,Supergrass and whoever you may think of.

Well, my life would be a whole lot different if it wasn't for Oasis, that's for sure. And I live in Canada. Oasis is Oasis, the best band to ever be. Liam was the voice, Noel was and still remains the genius. There is no sound that puts me in the place that listening to Oasis does. Amazing feeling.

Radiohead "OK Computer" should of won even though it wasn't one of the biggest selling British albums. Its an album that has inspired artists around the world. I'm happier about Noel's solo album. The new Oasis (which is no longer called Oasis btw) is most likely going to blow. Noel was Oasis. Liam was an OK song writer with good melodies. You were allowed to squeeze one or two Liam songs on an Oasis album, but an entire album without Noel. I'm very skeptical, I guess we have to wait and see.
Noddy Holder ist not the best, he is giant and become more than a tv hero. we Austrian love him most of all. We hope that he´ll carry on such a long time. All the best for the best!!

By my question, I meant that a lot of people recognize a lot of songs of the Brothers in Arms album, either because they're popular, either because they have struck them.
This kind of votes is mostly done by young people, who know much better the music of the ten last years than the music before that. People with not enough musical overview.
Result : one of the worse music band I've ever heard, with some of the less music-educated fans I know. A band for the crowd, so it is not surprising that they won.

@procrastinator300 I meant irrelevant artists such as Duffy and Sade. Keane is good, Hopes & Fears was at least. They are quite popular by the way; I love them along with the Verve and Oasis. Bands like Radiohead and blur should have been on the list as well.

I'm not English but I know for a fact that Keane are, or at least have had a period of popularity (see high album sales, radio play and worldwide tours). Yeah keep on digging into the bands we've been talking about, it's good stuff.

@Hybridnox oh haha. my mind picked it up as Slade for some reason. That's the band that the guy who announces the award was in back in the 70s (the one with the raspy voice), Noddy Holder. I haven't listened to them, don't know if they're any good. I think Sade was the only person on this list i'd never heard of. I might have heard of Dido

Radiohead "OK Computer" should of won even though it wasn't one of the biggest selling British albums. Its an album that has inspired artists around the world. Whats the story morning glory is an amazing album dont get me wrong but yeah radiohead > oasis. I don't hate oasis; i think they're great but the gallagher brothers are too stuck up.

I'm happier about Noel's solo album. The new Oasis (which is no longer called Oasis btw) is most likely going to blow. Noel was Oasis. Liam was an OK song writer with good melodies. You were allowed to squeeze one or two Liam songs on an Oasis album, but an entire album without Noel. I'm very skeptical, I guess we have to wait and see.

And of course Defiitely Maybe is a much better album than What's the f**** story.

I KNOW it's for BRIT album, it's a Brit award !!! I took my mistake YES from the 1980 not 70 ...how about Morrissey Vauxhall and I, Duran Rio, A-ha hunting high ans low and Pulp, radiohead etc....
The selection was not good enough or WIIIDEEE enough for the 30 years.

Yes, you can have a different opinion. In my opinion, every album of Radiohead is much more boring than Brothers in Arms, but it is question of musical taste.
Anyway, this kind of classment doesn't mean a lot. Everyone can have his own classment, but making a global classment taking everyone's vote isn't very interesting.
By my question, I meant that a lot of people recognize a lot of songs of the Brothers in Arms album, either because they're popular, either because they have struck them.

This kind of votes is mostly done by young people, who know much better the music of the ten last years than the music before that. People with not enough musical overview.
Result : one of the worse music band I've ever heard, with some of the less music-educated fans I know. A band for the crowd, so it is not surprising that they won.

Best album out of England in 30 years? The Clash's double LP London Calling came out in December of '79, arguably one of the ten best albums ever recorded, British or otherwise. You won by a month, Liam. Enjoy.
