  • @bbeniyo

Not a bad addiction to have. Hummus is very good for you despite how satiating it is.

  • I like this guy

All this makes me hungry :-)

  • Thank-you! I'm going to make some very soon. Clear instructions, lovely story about Mother's cooking. Sweet gentleman. Wonderful accent! Wish I could taste your cooking!

  • I think maybe showing us how to squeeze the juice from a lemon is going into to much detail...

  • Hehe, Nice recipe. It gets funny when got at the end and got excited. Nice family as well.

Good Luck and thanks for sharing,

  • thanks for the video, going to try making hummus for the first time w/ your recipe!! wish me luck :)

  • what a sweetheart! I wish I had family like this...!!! Thanks for a great video.

  • ok i dont want to seem like an idiot, i LUV this delicious mush! (hehehe)

but iv always wondered (because i am a health freak trying to get skinny) that if hummus is so healthy, then y are th only ppl iv seen eating it ..FAT!?!?!?

  • hi,they look happy and healthy, not necessarily fat, this guy is 70's and looks healthy,at the end of the day healthy is attractive

  • if you eat too much of anything, even healthy food, you will get fat. There is a saying that one third of what we eat is for our body, and the other two thirds we eat for our doctors. In other words, we eat too much!

  • oh god! that is so true, i found out th hard way!

    im actually anorexic now :(

but after getting used to actually having food in my stomach again, i am eating (healthy food) like an insane PIG!

ive gotten my bmi up to 17.9 right now from 16.2 , ugh! i feel so fat!!!!

i realize this doesnt have much to do with th vid.... sry about that..:S

  • Hahaha! No worries. Congratulations on getting over the anorexia! Stick to natural foods, and you'll be fine. Not too many oils/fats. Mostly fruits, veggies, lean chicken, fish, nuts, olive oil, and whole grains. You'll be fine. You can pretty much eat fruits and veggies all day and not gain weight, especially if you stay active. You'll be fine!

  • haha, thanks, im not necassarily over it, but am trying to move on...

actually i mostly eat like that anyway, but thankyou, its nice to be reminded that these are good foods and ok to eat :)

  • No worries. You seem like a great person, and I know that you will do right by your body. You are worth it. Just love yourself and everything will be fine.

  • ur right im too fat! (though i doubt any thin person would make that comment)

way ahead of you though! im trying to stop eating and exercise 2 hours a day again, i think its working, i can see bones, but that doesnt mean anything! i need to lose more! i still cant understand why all my friends keep begging me to eat tho.. and the parents give me weird looks :S

  • That saying doesn't make sense.

  • It means that we eat 3 times more food than we actually need. Thus, one-third of what we eat is all that our bodies require. The other two-thirds are what make us so unhealthy. Thus, the other two-thirds of what we eat are for our doctors. Those two-thirds make us unhealthy, so we pay doctors to "heal" us.

  • It would make sense if it were true :)

  • Well, a lot of highly educated experts have already said that it is true.

  • like you have any say in it! it's arabic food stay away of it

  • ya it tases really good

  • sooo good!

  • Hi Benny,

Thank you. I love your video, especially when you talk about your that you love your kitchen. Your wife and daughter join in. So nice to see family enjoying each others company. Thanks!

  • wats this music called

  • This is Arab food, NOT israeli.

  • semantics...

  • thnku :) i LUV hummus! i made it, it tasted delicious but was very thik and a bit lumpy..

how do i fix this? do i add water? (and also i did th chickpeas first, does this make a diference?)

  • I made humus the first time today. I have been going to the store everyday to buy it because it taste so good. Then I thought I could make it myself. There is no exact way to make it. Experiment! Be creative and enjoy it. Add some water if you want. Taste so good and I have read that it is healthy. I stay away from using any oil and salt for now for better health and it still taste good. I use the sesame seeds instead of tahini, Yum.

  • grind it first

  • Yummy! Hummus is the best in a hot-weather day..thanks for sharing your recipe!

  • ISNT THIS AN ARAB MEAL

  • ya but ppl think its either greek or italian.

  • That was soooo good!

  • Pepperocini. Iteresting!

  • just one more thing - i added a lots of fresh chopped parsley in the end for some extra vitamin C :)

  • I made the first hummus in my life based on your video last evening and it came deeeeeellllicious! Thanks!

  • I shouldn't become this hungry in the morning ... wow.

  • Mo... you're making me hungry!!! :)

  • motiz, what brand of tahini do you highly recommend? Also, is tahini a little bitter?

  • I'm surprisingly not picky about tahini. My requirement is that it be 100% ground hulled sesame. There shouldn't be any other ingredient in the jar! And yes, tahini by itself may be sharp. This is why we mix it with salt and lemon juice.

  • @sh97 yea if you wanna find it then it's at walmart :) but it's like 7 dollars...it's in the aisle where you would find goya cans.

  • hummus bi tahini

  • hommus bi tahina is very good

  • i love lebanese food!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  • its Iraqi food..when a lot of Iraqi jews immigrated to Israel they introduced a lot of their foods, amba and sabich are well known Iraqi foods in Israel

  • I can't wait to try this recipe. I love the presentation. It looks so good. My hummus always comes out wrong.

  • I love hummus. Proof? See my account

  • Is there anyway you can include the exact measurements on the recipe page on your site? The volume is too low on the video and I can hardly understand what is being said. Thanks.

  • Thank you for the recipe motiz. It looks very good. I hope other foods to snack on like baba ganouj, tabooli, tzatziki & stuffed grape leaves continue to get more popular here in the states like hummus has in the past 10 years.

  • looks great!
