  • i played in middle school honor band and we learned in 2 days with 3 other peices but ours was a different pitch and no quite as long so great job

  • i think the french horns could play a little bit more louder on measures 60-65

  • we're gonna do this piece for a music festival, i play the flute part... HARD!!! lol, nice job though!

  • Hard to tell the quality of the ensemble with such a poor quality recording.

  • The glockenspiel part for this song is fucking rad.

  • haha true, very true

  • you guys sound so good, but it seems really really slow to me..

The speed you guys ended on is just a little bit faster then the speed we started at..

  • Thanks, we only had a week to prepare the music, so tempo was not a major priority, it was more tone/ability to play it

  • We only had a week to prepare and play this music as well, but I'm not trying to one-up you. So, sorry if it feels like that. I played this in honour band, so that could have something to do with it.

  • nah, its np, ya we were in Band 1, but you can only play it as fast as your slowest player

  • @thunderbird5898 yeah i can tell during the part when you had to speed up, in my band, we start fast and end SUPER fast! it's hard!

  • to everyone saying they played this in middle school, it doesn't matter. just because you read the notes on the page in middle school, doesn't mean you read the music, there's more to music then jsut playing the written notes.

  • ok now i'm jsut going to say that i'm playing this and courtly airs and dances as well as Rolling Thunder this year for UIL and i am a TX band MIDDLE SCHOOL !!!! this is our UIL peices this year and i will have them on YOUTUBE so we can show the world teh beastly band that i am from

i play trombone and Rolling Thunder is probably the most fun peice to play in a full band or as a march but this is 12 to 14 year olds beasting this music so message me fro info and TX BANDS FING RULE!!!!!!!!

  • -sigh- I realize WHY you're putting all these comments on all these videos, but you could be a little more tact about it dude. Why don't you let me promote it? I'll probably do a better job at it.

Oh, for all the peeps out there, I go to the same school as trombonefrk1. Not just randomly annoying him.

  • i go to the same school too, we sound better than this. and honestly, have you ever heard of a middle school band playing rolling thunder?

  • ummm, I wouldnt get too excited about all of that given that it isnt exactly a hard piece. We learned it in a week. We did harder pieces in middle school.

  • Nimitz Jr High?

  • if you could help me out on the tuba part... were going to do this piece for U.I.L and i need help... howcome the tubas only ccome in on sertain parts when on the piece i have i practicly play through the entire song?

  • sorry, I don't know anything about the tuba part on this, I played Timpani

  • I played this in high school and it was so much fun. I love pretty much anything Grainger.. he is an awesome composer.

  • ya it was a lot of fun to play

  • That's awesome! When did you guys do this?

  • WE OWN. This song was fun.

  • hey! i remember you! you're the only freshman percussionist, right? this is jared, the tenor saxophonist.
