  • What size machine would I need to charge a 12 volt lead acid battery bank?

Anyone, please? We have no AC grid power where I am.

  • It is absolutely logical that current increases when taking off the coil. The motor is running with chopped DC which is electrically equivalent to AC. Taking off one coil reduces impedance.

  • What is the most common application of motors like this? using it with a solar system as a source for the DC voltage to run the motor then use it to spin another one to charge batteries connected to an inverter?

  • Continued: my long term goal is to have a larger version of this design/Newman system running a small generator creating a sufficient amount of electrical charge to keep my Honda Insight Electric Hybrid- expanded batteries topped off/Charged- which will slightly increase my miles per gallon.

  • Great work and outstanding video. Keep up the great work. I'm going to start making one of these Newman electricity generators as well. I'm going to join your web site as well. Thank you for everything you are doing and also for making it clear- what you are doing.

  • test this....not more than 12 wirers per Coil and for Amp´s the thick Wire....good luck...from Germany.

  • Hello TheDaftman! Have got overunity?

  • You are not a Daft Man, free energy machine comming soon!

  • thanks for you time and effort on how we should be powering the world. I am working on a motor too with interesting results from different setups and combination. Help the world see new possibilities.

  • I bet that relay would probably break quickly being used like that.

  • You have built a DC motor. Is there a point to doing so?

  • @SectorSevenG

I ate a whole pizza before. What do you think is the point of that?

  • Did you make the pizza from scratch, or did you just buy it?

  • This is just a motor. Does this mean that the motor is creating more energy than input??? Please go ahead and find out.

  • i wish i had a cool accent...:(mid-west

  • should show amps + volt everytime you show us the ampmeter no!?

  • italy

  • where's your accent from....

  • nott's UK

  • ah thought tha sounded a bit more Yorkshire than that....

  • of what dimension is it the magnet (in the water down guttering drainpipe) ?

  • Hello Daftman can you take a look a the (free power any one) video on YouTube and tell me what you think?

  • Jallaguri sorry I accidentally hit remove on your comment instead of reply.

    This was Jallaguri comment.

If you remove one coil the efficiency will drop. So the EMF is reduced so the amps goes up. Thats it? br.

    No sorry.

The EMF remains the same as the coil remains connected, so the EMF is only affected by the slowing down of the unit and that happens because part of the electromagnetic field is removed from the rotating magnet field.

  • please make it clear what you are claiming. do you claim this is must a motor, which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy? or do you claim something more fantastic . . . like output exceeds input?

or do you claim nothing at all . . . this is just a tinkerer's diversion?

  • This was just an exercise in proving that a Newman type motor could run without the traditional communicator. Nothing more to claim. I only did this video for a youtube buddy that was working on trying to replace the traditional communicator with electronics, I later build it to proved it could be done.

  • But there is a battery in the cct right ? If so, what is its function - thanks

  • Newman tried to get a US patent, based on the claim that his motor output more power than was used as input.

the patent office found his claim to be false, and he was denied patent . . . twice.

    newman was a fool

  • hi there, can you please show us the connection of your relay...thank you

  • I am convinced that doubling the coils in my fan motor will allow me to double the rpms while cutting the power consumption in half. Right now I have a 19.5-inch fan (6 blades) which consumes 6 watts when spun at 300 rpm. After doubling the coils to cover all of the angles, I should be able to spin it at 600 rpm using only 3 watts. The fan blade itself is rated for 10,000 rpm.

  • Good look with it i'm watching your progress with your Newman.

  • Thanks for the clarity of the video. Makes the communication and dicemination of the knowledge more effective. Keep trying to benefit mankind

  • My previous comments were meant for the new video - not this video.

  • this actually works? every time i see this videos the people don't know, just make the tests please and if it works tell it to the world, but this experiments are vane. sorry i don't want to be annoying but, i see video after video and i don't get if this works or not, it's simple. input ouput, overunity thermodinamycs. results.

  • Sorry this one is not an attempt at any of the above just how to make a Newman motor run without a commutator. So sorry no results to post as no tests was ever done on this one,

  • The output through the capacitor here is much lower than the input. The generator coils do not create that much current. There are not enough turns in the generator coil and the wire is not thick enough. The only way the power generated in the generator would even be comparable is if the torque induced in the generator coil was comparable to that in the Newman motor coils.

  • The majority of power in this device is going to vibration and not the generator coils. One should have a deliberate and heavy mechanical/non-electrical load such as a fan or a wheel guarantees that a smaller fraction of output power is rendered as wasteful vibration and heat.

  • Wire on alternator on other video is thicker than Newman motors not a lot all so the alternator is not fully loaded fractionally. For more currant I need less turns thicker gage wire, more terns will give more volts, this alternator will give almost 50 watts when a full load is applied when an efficient motor is used to rotate it. I did test it before connecting it up to the Newman motors. But I dont need currant according to Jefferson Newman so for this test currant was forsaken for voltage.

  • Sorry Joseph Newman and not Jefferson Newman

There will be a flywheel on it like I stated in the previous video.

    Dam 500-word count.

    Thanks

  • Enjoyed your demo- but could you add a schematic drawing. Was the top coil shorted out? Best regards tronpas999

  • Sorry for my delay in replying:

Thank you for your comments it is appreciated.

    No top coil shorted out.

We now have a forum where one can discuss are work, please join us.

    Teep(dot)i8(dot)com

Or please see link to the forum in description on the right of this video.

This is where I will post a schematic drawing for you.

  • check out:

    HyperPhysics is an educational resource

Click on Electricty and Magnetism, then on AC CIRCUITS, then click on AC Power

  • Check out:

  • A little more:

Using the meters there is no way to accurately measure your input or output power the current and voltage will not be in phase, if you continue to pursue over unity you may need to study AC circuits a little to understand the difference between apparent power and real power. The math required is not hard. You will need to make current and voltage measurements input and out put simultaneously to be able to make accurate powerin/powerout measurements.

    Check out web sight

  • "Using the meters there is no way to accurately measure your input or output power the current and voltage will not be in phase...."

It is hopeless cause for these motors to have their electrical power measured accurately. The most conservative thing we can do with the meters here is to use it to measure electrical INPUT ONLY and then test the mechanical output using a dynanometer. By overestimating the input, we would underestimate efficency.

  • Thats what i am demonstrating INPUT ONLY. In this video there is no output measurements.

This video was to demonstrate a Newman type motor running without a physical connection to the shaft.

  • It is possible to make accurate measurements of input and output power this requires making measurements with equipment that can do this. Unfortunately it is not cheep; if you are interested I could let you know what is needed. Basically simultaneous high speed sampling of both current and voltage of both input and output for some finite period of time, the larger the number of samples, and the shorter the sample period the better. Please do not let my posting discourage anyone.

  • When more output than input is measured and verified you will need to think about your responsibility of sharing it with the world (without having it suppressed or yourself discredited) or protecting your invention and patient rights.

  • To continue:

The resistance of the wire in your coil will have a voltage drop. Voltage = current in amps * the resistance of your wire in ohms (with the coil away from your motor). The power dissipated in the wire will be = Voltage times current in amps, this is wasted power and the magnetic energy from your coil will not contribute to the motor's output being it is removed from the motor.

  • This is my first time looking at all of this.

The workmanship looks great; I like the use of a relay at this point in your project.

Now about the current going up as you remove the top coil, the magnet spinning inside the coil (before you removed it) creates a counter electromotive force that counters the voltage being applied by your power source so when it is removed you basically have only the resistance of the wire without the counter electromotive force effect so the current goes up

  • Sorry for my delay in replying.

Thank you for your comments it is appreciated.

  • Whats the differance between the input/output voltages? From what I'v heard of this mechine its highly inpractical and somewhat destructive to electronics.

  • I noticed that TheDaftMan is not active for at least for a months now. Any problem? I am actually more interested in getting more mechanical power out of the Newman motor. I would be happy to generate just enough electricity to keep the assembly running. Any suggestion?

  • I wish I could figure out how to post my video on youtube. One of my Newman motors had 50 pounds of 12 gage wire, the other had many miles of 30 guage wire. Never did get any free energy out of it, but it was educational.

I don't think Joe has been completely honest with people about his results.

  • 4000+ RPM ? Impressive!

What are your thoughts on building these units larger than 2foot diameter? Would like to hear what you think of its potential at that size..

    Nice build, excellent craftsmanship.

  • looks like you might be able to put a diode on that switch and catch some of that radiant energy . I was able to direct my radiant power back to my pulse motor and my rpms climbed and amps dropped and it saved my points .Not sure what it will do for a newman.Nice work!

  • Hey Daftman... Are you aware of Dr. Steven Greer and the orion project?> You should google the Orion project and contact him... thanks for your work on this and for sharing!

  • You do not have a true Newman replication unless you do the following:

    1. Get a mullet haircut

    2. Stand in front of the motor and talk about Jesus.

    3. Ask your sycophantic lackey endless "yes" questions.

  • Great construction. What are the white rings made of? They look almost like ceramic....

  • Rings are made from MDF. The black part is 3-inch water down guttering drainpipe.

  • teep(dot)forumco(dot)com

  • i found a relay in an old tv, what does it do? does it make it run better?

  • The relay is used to switch the load to the coils. The reed switch switchers the relay.

  • teep(dot)forumco(dot)com

  • so the magnets are facing out south north? or north north like a pulse motor??

  • south north

    teep(dot)forumco(dot)com

  • Have you or anyone you know demonstrated a Newman Motor that provides more energy out than what goes in? Everyone is demonstrating that they can build the motor but what about free energy?

  • Well all I can say is see my next video coming up soon. I think this will be the best attempt you may have seen up to date.

  • Can you tell me what is the difference between a solid steel coil center and welding rod coil center? thanks Ron

  • I am still puzzled about Newman motors because I am not sure where the energy recovery is being done. I fully understand the Bedini circuit, however, I haven't been able to find a Newman motor schematic diagram.

Awesome construction once again. You could go into business!

Remove the top coil, gives you 1/2 the magnetic field strength, thus 1/2 the torque, and the speed drops by 1/2. It looks like bearing + air resistance torque are directly proportional to angular velocity.

  • You and Kubikop should go into business selling Newman and Bedini motors to high-end electronic gizmo and curiosity shops, like "The Sharper Image".

Imagine an ultra low power motor suitable for an executive's desk. A sophisticated conversation piece, a thought-provoking reminder about the challenges of today and for tomorrow. You have the technology, you can build them, you have the technology to build the world's first Daftikop motor.

  • Man,, this is worth a 3 post,, All i can say is excellent work, the presentation is rock solid, well done thedaftman,, top notch stuff here people, put this one in your favs. i know i did :)

  • Thanks for your comment. Wait till you see the all new Newman.

  • the reed switch is the way to go. I have to clean my connections every time i run. i thought the top coil was the generator. I drive on the bottom coil and don't know what to do from there. i run it thru rectifier and cap but when i try to connect battery it charges the coil. diodes are the answer but where and what direction.>?

  • If you still need some help on this please mail me from youtube.

  • Very nice Newman Motor replication.Good Job.

  • thanks for answering.

  • This was to be at the end of my comments after magnetichaze post, but YouTube 500 character count.I know the work in this video is copied work. Sorry just trying to stem all the emails I have been getting on this one it seems like I have lit some kind of fuse. It's not all the comments you have all kindly posted please keep them coming to be truthful I would of given up with all this if it wasn't for all you out there.

  • It's just all the emails I'm just spending days answering them all. But I do thank you all for your support.

    Dam this 500 character count.

  • My next project will be adding a second $42 4000' coil on top. Thanks daftman! I'm going to try to clock for 6 days (twice as long) at 1200 rpm (twice as fast). Increasing the voltage is getting to expensive for me now and the batteries getting to long to charge. 8000' feet Newman motor here we go!

  • *too

  • Always amazing,, I posted here once but it got off some how,, so I thought well this video deserves a second comment,, Just amazing thedaftman thanks for clarifying why we would need a second coil above the bottom one.

  • can you simplify your explanation for me? how much energy is being put in vs. being made? thankyou

  • At the moment this is just a motor, so it only uses energy. I am now building a new one complete with generator and now I have found the most efficient motor I'm going for a self runner, well that's my goal anyway. So to a degree how much energy is being put in vs. being made well this want really apply to my research, as there will be no power input. Or so I think. But that's y in thedaftman. Sorry if this seems like a copout.

  • So in a nutshell I'm not interested in the energy being used providing it stays below 1 amp. Now I know that seems a bit bonkers and It is bonkers to say I'm not interested in the energy being used but you have to remember if I pay to much attention to this I will never get anything done. I'm not saying I'm completely disregarding the energy being used it just that I'm paying more attention to producing energy. Again I'm trying not to use anything preconceived or in the rulebooks.

  • are the coils connected start/end/ or, does it matter one way or the other ?

  • The coils are connected start to end its just that I have center-tapped the one in this video.

Yes it does matter the way you connect the coils.

    Hope that helps.

  • Again, I always get more than I bargained for when I watch your videos :) Thanks great work!

  • thanks for that info. is the top coil connected with the bottom coil, or just collecting radiant energy to the bridge rectifier?

  • The coil is all one coil, so top coil is connected with the bottom coil.
