To be honest I downloaded the demo to try it out and it was my first time playing so I don't even know how to take off or how to land XD I'm probaly the worst pilot and that what I wanna be when I grow up I'm only 13 right now(I use mouse so it's even harder)

@kjr165 Oh man, the SR-71 model I have is quite a tricky plane to fly! It's very easy to over-correct. If you make small, smooth, adjustments, and wait for the control surfaces to get to where they're trying to go, the SR-71 is much easier to fly! Good luck, and thanks for the comment!

you had a lot of runway.. always aim for center line, even after u landed u always maintain center line.. and dont forget to flare to let the tail sit first, not the nosewheel.. break the glide, level off, and never let the nose to fall.. Ü

yeah don't land on the trees..

Aim for the runway..

slow down flaps down try to line up with the runway as far away as you can don't fly too low that you hit the trees..

that's it really.. and of course make sure the gear is all the way down.. It's coming in too fast and (or) high what makes landings seem hard..

The flaps fully extended increases wing surface allowing the plane to stay airborne at slower speeds.. You don't need to fly extremely low until you are relatively close to the runway

hey man its k ive had a worse landing then this... ok i was doing a southwest virtual flight from chicago midway to dulles. i was flying online and there was no atc the whole way.. so i get my frind to get on skype and he acts an approach controller... well he setsme up for an ils approach and the approach was good but then wen i land idk wat happend but my nose gear collapsed =( the worst part was tht i was flying in shamu one so he DIED =((

If the front gear collapsed it sounds like you either had the nose touch first or you just came in too hard.. Either way you must have put somehow a lot of pressure on the front landing gear..

the one I go to with the flight simulators is a private college. besides just having a flight simulator club, they have actual "fligth simulators", which are cockpits of small planes and you sit inside and have all the actual controls, and there is a full 180 degree view on large projected screens

Well, maybe not, actually, since as a "landing" it was one of the worst, but as an almost certain "crash"....it wasn't so bad.

I guess it's a "landing-half full" kind of thing, to stretch a metaphor.

I think the important thing to take away from all these semi-realistic renderings is that complex machinery requires training and skill and people who participate in those endeavors for real had best take a lot of care in their training and execution, a la Sullenberger.

By the way, I'm a 40 year-pilot and investigated a couple of high-profile accidents for a major (unnamed here) aviation group and I think that these renderings are marvelous.

I just want to applaud all the people who put the time in to do them and display them here and encourage them to pursue their fine skills into the real world.

There's a need and a place for them and the efforts shown here will always be valuable.

it really is a bad landing, but if you were actually using this view while flying then it's understandable ...

at 0:20 the plane isnt supposed to steer that well at that speed. it just doesn't have good enough controls, or if it does, the plane would drift. fsx has nice graphics but isnt really realistic.
