No. You play as a marine in a story that takes place before the events of halo 3. The expansion is called Halo 3: Recon and is released fall 2009.

There is a new trailer somewhere that has more footage as well as this footage.

the last pod that comes down and smashes into the camera maybe master chief. you probably go through a battle with the ODST by your side

The drop pods are definitley ODST ones. This is looking more and more like a campaign extension, due to the XBL marketplace description of this.
