I was a little disappointed that there was no discussion of how the slinky's force pulled in two directions and toward the center of mass. The top of the slinky is accelerating faster and the the bottom of the slinky is not accelerating at all until the slinky no longer behaves as a spring (the two ends come in contact with each other). The center of mass (the center of the slinky) appears to be dropping with an acceleration of g.

@MrBigZaz so we can hear what they're saying. Other techniques of recording sound for video include a mic on the camera, using a handheld mic like we see here, or clipping a small microphone to the speaker's shirt.

Possibly you could use a boom (long stick) with a mic @ the end, but then you need a big, fuzzy windscreen, and by that time you're doing a lot of work. The techniques I describe above are easier.

@atay5510 the same results will happen even if you increased the slinky s mass or spring constant because the slinky will always adjust to the right length where gravity can no longer pull it down further. This is what they mean by when they say that the tension force reaches an equilibrium with the gravitational force pulling down.
