Put a piece of plywood or something in between the quads on the trailer that might work but otherwise put urs in backwards u might scratch ur numbers but won't screw up ur taillight
nice quad but have u ever had to do the top end. and how meny hours did you put on it. im thinking of getting one but not sure if its as reliable as a 400ex
@MFredericks546 Top end only lasted a year before I sold it with a bad top end. I logged 400-500 hours or so on it. If I were you I'd go for a really modded Trx400ex, that's what I did. The right mods will make it almost as fast and the frame geometry is identical to the 250r's so the handling is incredible.

becuase on mine when i rev it its cool but when i pres the thumb trottle fast it turns off almost as if it choked. it only happens when i due to fast. you know why
@TPunksProductions To correct myself lol your fuel screw is turned out to far, or your pilot jet is to big. Start by turning in your fuel screw in at half turns till it stops doing that. It also depends on what mods you have done to it.
@TheMasiker Did your dealer say everything motor wise was stock? Also Are you running your air lid off is it on? What I would do is take you carb off check the jets. Main jet, and pilot jet.
@BWRProductions could the main jet be to big only if you have jett it becuase i dont know if the first owner jetted it. has stock exhuast but came with tag handlebars

@HondaRider450r250ex Yeah it's definitely worth the money to buy one of those two. One exhaust I did admittedly forget about is Motoworks. They're really good and really underrated. I always forget about them but their work with factory Can-Am has been good and they make affordable, noise friendly pipes with great performance gains and great quality. They're not as good as a CS or DASA in the power category but they're not far off at all.

Right center case broke (2nd time) so i bought a 2003 kfx 400... love it even more. you know what... if your not in racing thing get you a trail bike instead of a race bike (yes even honda 450 is race oriented) from 400ex to raptor 700 all those bike are better than 450... 450 are meant to be race then repair then race then repair... more trail oriented bike are put gaz and have fun

@davisti88 I personally don't like them at all so I switched to a 2004 Yfz450. Waaay better and actually way more reliable than the Trx. It's all opinion though but I like the Yamaha a lot better than the Honda.

@BWRProductions Both great quads but both have there bads and goods. After owning 2 450rs and 3 yfz450s i personally like both quads. The yfz's look sexier stock but the 450rs are cheaper when it comes to moding.
@noahj1f1 Right around 3.5 to 4 depending on the conditions of the dirt. 3.5 for more traction and 4 for less. And thanks but I actually sold it for an 04 Yfz450. Always been a Yamaha fan.
@swiper1108 rarely do I say yes but actually that's a really good trade. If you do it though you should always keep your eye open for a yfz or something once you get the trx.
@tommyxx1998t you didn't say that in the last comment though. It could be a lot of things, cable, throttle itself, the carburetor isn't working right or the return spring is messed up. Honestly without more info I couldn't tell you much beyond that.
@tommyxx1998t that'd help a lot. If it's cutting out and sputtering on the throttle than you've got a carburetor issue and the only way to fix that is to take a guess on what jet is wrong. If the throttle is super easy to push it's either your cable, your thumb throttle or the mechanism in the carb that opens the slide when you give it gas. Could also be super stiff from a frayed cable.

I blew all the welds out from riding alot of tracks but at the same time they aren't meant for that kind of riding to begin with so I don't know how they hold up in XC which is what they are meant for. However, I still was disappointed that the heelguard blew out so easily, followed by the rest of the welds.

hey im looking to get the 2010 trx450r. do u have to race them or can the go on trail rides. some of my racing freinds said it will burn up the valves is that true
@MrGary119797 no you can trail ride any quad you want. I'm not sure what your friends are talking about because 4-strokes are capable of riding at any RPM. Plus the Trx is more a trail machine than a race machine. However, I highly suggest you do not buy a Trx because they are POS quads. You will seriously regret it if you purchase one I guarantee it. If you want a trail quad buy a Kfx450r. Trust me they are WAY better and more reliable quads in every aspect and the aluminum frame is muy bueno!
@BWRProductions, ahh.. yea i had it on my 400ex, i have a 2008 kfx 450r monster edition now. just has a k and n air filter and a skid plate so far. racing it next season.
It def takes some rear end to start one of these bikes I would think at 90 pounds it might be kinda difficult to start one. I'm 6'0 195 pounds and it takes a decent amount of effort to kick it especially when it's cold outside. I just did motor work on mine and it's actually easier to start now with a high compression piston and a cam. who knew! LOL. Hope this helps
@400exNick found something awesome while at the dunes this week. spray some 6 in 1 lubricant from Bel Ray and the kickstarter moves much smoother and easier.

@bigman853 yeah all Trx's are gay, I would much rather have a Kawi. But if I was gonna buy a Trx again I'd still buy an 04, they will destroy any of the weak 2006's. If you actually have some balls you don't mind kickin your bike over and if you knew anything you'd know the 04 was lighter weight and powerful. Besides, this video is old, go look at my newer walkarounds and you'll know my quad is way better.

I would get the yfz but i get to a track or open areas mybe 6 times a year and mostly do trail riding and I heard the trx was the better trail quad and that the yfz has more problems than the honda.what do you think of your 450r of trail riding and did you have any problems with it?
@cr85dan624 the Honda 450r isn't very good at doing anything. It's got all High end power but lacks any of the traits that make it worth riding on a track. Not to mention the Yfz is WAY more reliable if you buy newer then 05.

@Allaby no I didn't have to re-jet there is no need to though you can run a Stage 1 if you wanted to get even more power. They cost about $330 and they are some of the best slip-ons on the market with an 8hp increase.
im about to trade my 2004 crf450r for a 2006 Honda TRX 450r with electric and kick start. Quad has aftermarket bumper and grab bar, quad tech hood, itp c-series wheels, razors on rear, razor 2 on front, pro peg nerf bars, full curtis sparks exhaust, aftermarket cam, 13.5:1 high compression piston, port and polish, vortech ignition, rear shock rebuilt by gt thunder with link.
@kawasakiridr12 I can't really understand that first part about the light, but I don't have it on anymore if you've seen the newest walkaround on my channel.
Not really just get one that's in good condition, do all your maintenance and it will hold together good. When looking at them make sure the frame is good and make sure that nothing important looks damaged, the plastics don't have to be perfect but rust is a big red flag. I like the kickstart models but the 06's and up are better and its hard to find an 06 or newer with the kickstart since not to many people buy them with that option brand new.
@addoz cheack the bearings/bushings for play. let the motor warm up and listen for any sounds. look over the frame REALLY closely for cracks and kinks. just make sure its not rallied and that the maintainence has been kept up on; oil, air filter, chain. and if there all good u got a good bike and if there bad chew them down a couple bucks or move onto the next one
what do you mean you can keep it from running into it its called straping them down for a reson and hell if you have to put it in gear then do it it def sounds like you guys dont use straps
Four straps a bike tightened all the way down. The trailer we use bounces a lot and its about a foot short so my quad has to sit wheelied up of the front edge and they only fit if they touch bumper to bumper so when the trailer bounced the bumper only had to move half an inch to know the tailight out. Luckily we bought a truck so my quad will go in the back and my moms can go in the trailer.

I don't trust my self to do it so I have my local dealer take care of that for me, but I get them done about every 6 months. I don't know what the official maintenance schedule is for them but if they need adjusting I can feel it because the engine will miss fire when in high RPM's. This stuff should all be in your manual which is under the seat on the 04's and 05's but if you bought your quad used it may be missing or you may have been given that separately
pretty sick i jetted mine added the same nerf bars installed the K n N filter kit, ordered the two brothers exhaust full exhaust and also ordered the big gun CDi box to make it go 1000 rpm more lol i hope it comes out to be fast in the dunes lol

i just installed the full two brothers exhaust and turned it on dam let me say wow it loud lol it ws loud back then when i took off the silencer and spark arrester of my stock exhaust but i think this one is way louder lol all i need now is to go pick up my CDI box and install it
crazy sound right? best part is it is still less then 100dB but it sounds way higher! if you revved it im sure you could feel all the hp and throttle response in the vibrations alone

@MrGary119797 no you can trail ride any quad you want. I'm not sure what your friends are talking about because 4-strokes are capable of riding at any RPM. Plus the Trx is more a trail machine than a race machine. However, I highly suggest you do not buy a Trx because they are POS quads. You will seriously regret it if you purchase one I guarantee it. If you want a trail quad buy a Kfx450r. Trust me they are WAY better and more reliable quads in every aspect and the aluminum frame is muy bueno!

It def takes some rear end to start one of these bikes I would think at 90 pounds it might be kinda difficult to start one. I'm 6'0 195 pounds and it takes a decent amount of effort to kick it especially when it's cold outside. I just did motor work on mine and it's actually easier to start now with a high compression piston and a cam. who knew! LOL. Hope this helps

@bigman853 yeah all Trx's are gay, I would much rather have a Kawi. But if I was gonna buy a Trx again I'd still buy an 04, they will destroy any of the weak 2006's. If you actually have some balls you don't mind kickin your bike over and if you knew anything you'd know the 04 was lighter weight and powerful. Besides, this video is old, go look at my newer walkarounds and you'll know my quad is way better.

I would get the yfz but i get to a track or open areas mybe 6 times a year and mostly do trail riding and I heard the trx was the better trail quad and that the yfz has more problems than the honda.what do you think of your 450r of trail riding and did you have any problems with it?

@cr85dan624 the Honda 450r isn't very good at doing anything. It's got all High end power but lacks any of the traits that make it worth riding on a track. Not to mention the Yfz is WAY more reliable if you buy newer then 05.

@Allaby no I didn't have to re-jet there is no need to though you can run a Stage 1 if you wanted to get even more power. They cost about $330 and they are some of the best slip-ons on the market with an 8hp increase.

im about to trade my 2004 crf450r for a 2006 Honda TRX 450r with electric and kick start. Quad has aftermarket bumper and grab bar, quad tech hood, itp c-series wheels, razors on rear, razor 2 on front, pro peg nerf bars, full curtis sparks exhaust, aftermarket cam, 13.5:1 high compression piston, port and polish, vortech ignition, rear shock rebuilt by gt thunder with link.

Not really just get one that's in good condition, do all your maintenance and it will hold together good. When looking at them make sure the frame is good and make sure that nothing important looks damaged, the plastics don't have to be perfect but rust is a big red flag. I like the kickstart models but the 06's and up are better and its hard to find an 06 or newer with the kickstart since not to many people buy them with that option brand new.

@addoz cheack the bearings/bushings for play. let the motor warm up and listen for any sounds. look over the frame REALLY closely for cracks and kinks. just make sure its not rallied and that the maintainence has been kept up on; oil, air filter, chain. and if there all good u got a good bike and if there bad chew them down a couple bucks or move onto the next one

Four straps a bike tightened all the way down. The trailer we use bounces a lot and its about a foot short so my quad has to sit wheelied up of the front edge and they only fit if they touch bumper to bumper so when the trailer bounced the bumper only had to move half an inch to know the tailight out. Luckily we bought a truck so my quad will go in the back and my moms can go in the trailer.

I don't trust my self to do it so I have my local dealer take care of that for me, but I get them done about every 6 months. I don't know what the official maintenance schedule is for them but if they need adjusting I can feel it because the engine will miss fire when in high RPM's. This stuff should all be in your manual which is under the seat on the 04's and 05's but if you bought your quad used it may be missing or you may have been given that separately

pretty sick i jetted mine added the same nerf bars installed the K n N filter kit, ordered the two brothers exhaust full exhaust and also ordered the big gun CDi box to make it go 1000 rpm more lol i hope it comes out to be fast in the dunes lol

i just installed the full two brothers exhaust and turned it on dam let me say wow it loud lol it ws loud back then when i took off the silencer and spark arrester of my stock exhaust but i think this one is way louder lol all i need now is to go pick up my CDI box and install it
