Sullivan was a brilliant composer and an ingenious orchestrator. He wrote beautiful pieces in many different styles, all the while retaining that gift for and style of melody that made the Savoy operas famous.

@nick97930 - Very well put. Sullivan's music has a wonderful lightness of touch and depth of feeling. I love the G&S operas but I wish Sir Arthur was better remebered in his own right.
