  • Labels, labels, if you must put a label and define it with a number then why not 1%. It is said that the longest journey begins with the first step. Does not a Buddhist or Christian claim the association and name with the initial belief, not waiting for enlightenment. Thought preceeds belief, belief preceeds action. Thanks for what you do, I plan to share it with others... Sat Nam

  • I think 100% is raw, but people don't necessarily have to be 100%. They should just include more raw foods

  • I went 100% raw in 1999 and vegan in 1990 because of my severe multiple food allergies and other health challenges. Most of my friends and loved ones are not raw or vegan, but I still love them! lol! I would love for them to enjoy the health benefits, but that's up to them. The only thing is that I doubt I could be in an intimate "live-in" relationship with a non-raw vegan; but that is my choice. blah, blah, blah. Did I put yall to sleep yet? lol

  • YOU r amazing .

  • I know plenty of Eskimos ,their ancestral dietary habits may prove the body evolves to whats available . Ancestral diet is important too in finding whats 'healthy' for an individual .Soy,corn, high meat,potatoes....whatever , may not be what your particular body is currently designed to work with in large amounts . We are not all created the same, likely never due to geological influence. A few 1000 years of flames withstanding in many cases . gotta evolve back to Raw , slowly but surely .

  • Good video. I think it's like the term "vegan." Do you think you should be called vegan if you eat no animal products during the week but have hamburgers and steak on the weekend? In my opinion, no. Just as vegan stands for something, raw stands for something. People can do whatever they want, but I am not comfortable calling myself raw at 75%. At around 90%, I call myself a raw foodist that cheats every now and then. At 100%, I use the term comfortably.

  • thanks for the great video. I got the link to this video from Tanisha Marshall's raw food blog.

I'm new to raw, less than a week. but, I already feel better. I also was a little confused. The only unraw thing I had this week was yogurt, 2 ears of cooked corn and 2 bags of microwave popcorn.

I think that's pretty good for the first week.

  • Methinks percentage should be set by distinct reversal of: health disorders, muddled neurological patterns, and susceptiblity to infection. If that's at 50%, it's 50%. If that's at 100%, it's 100%. Also, what on EARTH was Kevin concocting in that Vita MIx?!

  • one of the best videos on this topic!!

thank u so much for sharing!!

  • wow, such an amazing video

  • your an amazing being :) thank you so much for helping me. believe it or not, I had this exact conversation in my head all day today. I have been 100% raw for 3 months and i love it very much, but I used to always drink the natural Vega & it made me feel amazing. eating raw is about feeling amazing! I did it to nourish my body on the physical level & I don't feel I should sacrifice my health on an emotional level to achieve this, I just listen to my body :) Thanks again for this gift

  • aloha, i am new to raw but to me its knowing where your food came from, its knowing i grew that or the person who did and knowing what went in it. what if we ate only boxes of legal store bought dehydrated flax crackers, that's it, are you 100% raw?? the question is to what degree do you know about your raw food? I think it's about moved you are about the food you eat, like the flax cracker guy or the guy that grows his vegs. do what you can but aleast try to know.

  • I'm fairly new to being a raw foodist so my opinion probably doesn't count for much. I'm eating approximately 80-90% raw with a little meat added to put rest to the vegan B12 thing. So far that feels good to me. If my body ever decides it doesn't want meat I'll go with that. But for now I'm happy, feeling great, and mostly raw. Thanks, Ginny Fisher

  • NOt sure why everyone is into 'labels'. Everyone wants to label someone or even themselves. Strange to me. Nice video. It is really nice. People get down on themselves because they think if they eat something not raw, they cant take on the label of 'raw foodist'. Crazy. Everyone who incorporates raw into their lives is a winner.

  • I agree that labeling for the sake of labels is useless. But I also agree with "Vegan with a Vengeance" authors in that a label can also be your way of standing up for your philosophy. Calling yourself a vegan and showing people you can be strong, healthy, and successful is a way of chipping away at the established misconceptions of our red meat and potatoes culture.

But I do agree with you on this point: everyone who incorporates raw into their lives is a winner. For sure!

  • This was a great video!! I completely agree!! Raw food should not be down to numbers, because all too often this can lead to food obsessions!! Its about doing what feels right for your body and enjoying your journey! I think to be a raw foodist you should eat 'most' of your food raw - percentages makes it too scientific! God gave us such a great machine that can handle so many complex situations and toxins that to reduce that to science is to underestimate it! Keep up the great videos!

  • great video. i say i'm vegan- eating mostly raw. i also explain how good i feel eating raw/living foods. i explain about nutrients, and vitamins/minerals in raw compared to cooked foods. most people understand and accept that as fact. then it is up to me to make decisions daily about what i eat. what do i crave? what does my body need today?

follow your "gut" and you will not be let down.

labels and extremes can be too limiting for some of us. in that case- skip it.

  • I couldn't agree with your conclusion more. Feeling centered and amazing as well as staying conscious about our planet and all aspects of life is the only thing that matters to me as well. I remember hearing David Wolfe once say that it's not about 100% raw, all or nothing, right or wrong... That tends to trigger the ego which is the furthest thing from what it's all about and even the root of most problems in life. Keep up the good work :)

  • brilliant question, but I have no idea what the answer is :)

  • I like to think of a raw-foodist as someone who has a passion for or an inclination to eat mostly raw foods for health or other reasons, environment, ethics etc. Percentage should'nt matter :0) Love the show man!

  • for myself im about 80% raw vegan. i don't tell people i'm a raw foodist, because then the next minute i may be eating something that is not completely raw. I aspire to go raw within the next couple months. At that point i will tell people that i'm a raw foodist..
