Slashing him in this battle is basically pointless. All you need to use is your revolver and Buster. Keep running and side-rolling to dodge basically every attack Credo uses. Shoot your revolver constantly in breaks to slowly lower his health. After one of his big sword combos, when he's stuck into the ground, use a Buster and you'll hit his shield. You have to do that several times until the shield turns orange, and then one more time so the shield turns blue again. Sucsess! ;)
