  • That belch was one in a million man nice video!!!

  • Aw man i love those belt squeals omg! Our series 60 powered neo's do tat.

  • @WMATAvids I tried to get more recordings of squealing ones but lately it seems I get the non squealers and a squealer will usually pass by across the street! Murphy strikes again...

  • you know what i thought it was before. i thought these buses were burning the tires at first. but it turns out it was the belt squeal

  • This bus sounds awesome when it pulls with that belt squealing sound. Gotta love it!

  • Neoplan aren't the best in the LACMTA fleet, these had broken A/C before and yet there dirty.

  • they have these same buses on line 111 and i live a block from the nearest stop and i can hear the noise all the way to my house lol

im used to the noise now

  • My friend lives by the 20 Line so I recorded some more Neoplans over this past weekend and ended up on 6491 which was squealing pretty good. All the rest seemed to be fixed, but I saw many squealing New Flyers, mostly in the older Metro colors.

  • lol if its a cummins how come it sound like a DD50 when it was idling in this vid

  • This one did have a funky sound whilst idling, most don't sound like this, they sound more like a big idling inline 6 should sound. Also, the abovehead ventilation fan in this bus was a bit noisier than usual.

  • lol at first i thought the bus did a peel off

  • WMATA's AN460s do the same thing.

  • Certainly is better than the black puffs of smoke coming out of some diesel busses. Usually, these CNG busses don't smoke at all...

  • Powered by Compressed Natural Gas. That puff of smoke is not considered environmentally friendly.

  • I second that, these are my favorite busses in CA!

  • Heck. I love these Buses too. They are the best Buses to ride on.

  • I'm going back to ride these things next week, and get some more video!

  • Easiest coaches to work on. Its too bad that they closed the plant in Lamar Co.

  • You can thank Boston's MBTA for Neoplan's closing of their Plant.

  • How, did they cause them to close the plant??? to tell you the truth they were big fans off neoplan

  • Boston's MBTA. made an order for some Buses and TC (Trolley Coaches). While Neoplan was starting or was building the Buses. MBTA had cancelled their Order. And Neoplan had to give all the money back. Neoplan had a little money problems before. Due to other small things. But Boston really hurt they bad enough. to cause them to close down. I think a lot of companies was hurting for business at that time. But Neoplan was one of the company. That bit the bullet and bit it hard. That is what I heard.

  • OOOOhhhh wow thats some fucked up shit!!!!!!! MBTA did Neoplan diiirrrrty!!!!!!!

  • In a weird way the belt squealing sounds pretty cool!

  • Is that a Cummins engine?

  • Cummins L10G, I gotta say these engines sound really nice through that big exhaust found on Neoplan busses!

  • Yes its a Cummins L10G

  • lol i miss the DD50 engines they were powerfull and made the bus sound like a huge jet engine

  • Nice, I love Neoplans :)
