Yes, the Les Paul looks 'nicer' only because of its fancy design with the flame top and the binding. Fenders are better to me just because they feel more comfortable to play.

Why does there have to be a war? I love the feel of my Stratocaster, but I will never get the power and sustain of a Les Paul out of it. I love the tone and reassuring weight of a Les Paul, but it doesn't have the smooth, sexy lines of a Stratocaster. Can't we have both?

i have a squier strat and an epi les paul just because I want the different sound, ill always love my strat and my new epi also has a place but i dont think one is superior

Fender. It's more versatile, with the right amp I get a sound similar to an LP. The Gibson look is really beautiful, though. But with a Gibbo, only the right one works. With a Fender, they all work. The Squier strat is better than the Epi Les Paul, the trem on the strat is really useful, and I can go from metal to a pretty sparkly clean tone with my strat within seconds. It really depends on the player, the sound they like, their hands...

I have one of each and I love them both for the totally different tones I get, sometimes you want a strat, sometimes you want a les paul, it doesn't have to be exclusively one and that's it.

Well put. I also have a V and an Explorer and a tele and I love them too.

Gibson guitars are awesome but way overpriced. Like a BMW.

Fenders are workhorses and kind of a working man's guitar. Like a Ford or Dodge.

Ibanezes are nice but they're like buying a nissan Z or Toyota. Not bad but it ain't a muscle car!

Anyway, I just love solid body guitars because they exude power when they're just sitting there waiting to be played! Rockon brothas!

i settled for a gibbo firebird ..gives me the gibson solidness but i can still get a lot of twang in the bass strings...hhmm woudnt mind a tele tho' and maybe

a gretsch ..or mayybeee....etc

I don't like the idea behind this movie. It's nothing personal, but frankly the idea that we guitarists are waging a holy war of sorts between Fender and Gibson is just foolish. The strat is great, the SG is great, the tele is great, the Les Paul is great, they're all great, there is no better, pitting them against each other is just foolhardy, a lot more of us just play both of them rather than warring over which is better.

The sound got awesome quality. Also Gibson kicks every guitar companies ass.
